It was definitely the best site at the camp. I think the price was too high and had hidden fees so paying over $120 for two nights (when Hipcamp site said it would be $45/night) was definitely the most I EVER paid for tent camping. It was pleasant and quiet but having two lights on the entire night lighting up our campsite was a disappointment. It rained a lot so that was not perfect conditions - I would recommend to friends who can't camp at Mt. Rainier NP because it is full and can afford such high prices for tent camping.

We really enjoyed staying
At this campsite. We were the only ones there until the following day. It was so quiet and peaceful. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Would recommend 100%.

Pros: very close to Rainier, easy directions and entry, beautiful view of the scenic train
Cons: bathrooms could be cleaner and the electricity at campsite #1 was not working consistently because a "tree had fallen on it", so required frequent resetting.
Overall, would recommend staying, but those 2 points could be improved!

Site 7: Shaded Railroad Campsite
I loved that it was only 20 min from Niscually entrance of Mount Rainer. The campground is in the forest. I was worried about “the train” but it’s so cute everyone comes out and takes photos of it has it goes by. The campground also has little sculpture gems my favorite was the raccoon.

Great campsite, especially loved the wooden bench swing. Off season so we were the only people there for one night and one of two occupied sites for our second night. We also got to be the first people to use the brand new showers!

We enjoyed it. Our site #7 was private and quiet. Would, and will go back.
One negative, the bathroom had a lot to be desired. No toilet paper, and one toilet was backed up. By the time we left, there was toilet paper and the toilet was fixed.

This place is great. Multiple sized spots. H2O and electricity at each place. Beautiful grounds. Clean and bright bathrooms. Running water. And the trestle is beautiful. Will definitely be back!!!

We RV camped in the snow. We loved the steam engine train that came by a couple times a day. It was just like camping next to the magic of the Polar Express! There is a cool little walk down to the river. We loved our stay, highly recommend for a little getaway!

Lovely little campsite near Mt. Rainier. Our site had a very nice swing and overlooked some beautiful mountains. I would definitely go back on another visit to Rainier!

Beautiful campsite with fairy lights & a swinging chair, the host was so kind to provide us with wood as well! Although we didn’t get to stay for the whole weekend as planned due to weather, we’d gladly come back in the future.

The site was easy to find and seeing the train go by was fun! The site was also well maintained and a good size for my campervan. The restrooms and trash bins were close by for easy use. My fur babies and I enjoyed our short stay!

Host was friendly, accommodating and the site came with free firewood. The campground is adorable with animals carved into wood stumps around the property, one site has a swinging chair. I would definitely recommend.

What an awesome campground! Not only is it close to Mt. Rainer but you can actually hike around the area. There’s a cool riverbed to explore. The grounds were set up nicely. Marcel , the handyman, was extremely helpful with setting me up in my RV spot ( complete novice here) . This place is perfect.

Very easy to find, clean, private campsites. Great amount of space for our tent and chairs next to the fire pit and picnic table. Would definitely recommend!

This place is awesome!!! Juuval was so communicative, answered every question I had to bring in my trailer. Bathroom was very nice,( little cold in the morning) and looked like they were trying to add showers to them. Super nice trail down to the river, and the old steam train that comes through was so cool. We will definitely be booking more stays here !!!! Thank you for such an amazing experience!!!

Nice campground, convenient to Mt Rushmore National Park. Quiet, sites are spacious. # 8 had electricity but no water - water looked like it might have been turned off for the season. Generally OK.
