Spacious, private, and absolutely beautiful. This property has a peaceful overlook and even a charming swinging bench to relax on. The amenities were great, and the light rain at night made for an incredibly cozy and restful sleep. One fun surprise—an old-fashioned steam train occasionally passes through the area. We were lucky enough to see it roll by before we left in the late morning, which added a special touch to the trip. Highly recommend this unique and tranquil spot!

Beautiful campsite just a few min from Mt Rainier. Potable water right at our campsite in a spicket, and clean bathrooms and showers available. Hot showers too! Loved it here and will definitely plan to come back to stay here!

Great little campsite! Beautifully kept with level sites. Cute outhouse, plus a little library with bug spray (which you'll need for the buggy hours). Lovely views, peaceful location, and delightful host. James brought us wood for the communal campfire and set up a hose to clean up. Highly recommend!!

So incredibly close to Mount Rainier. I felt safe and secure in this spot, really cute racoon in tree and a trail available right off the site. Showers and toilets are kept cleaned daily. Plenty of room on each site, so you don't feel crowded.

Our 19ft camper van fit perfectly into a sport with plenty of room to turn around. The area was quiet and had enough room to spread out. The showers were warm and just what we needed after a long day of hiking! Would recommend!

Site 7: Shaded Railroad Campsite
Warmed up for the summer camping season with a few pleasant nights at site 7. The site and entire campground were clean and well kept. Our site was shaded and fairly spacious and although the neighboring site was close, it felt plenty private. The train passes immediately behind the site but it's quick and infrequent and actually kind of fun. The highlight for us was the trail down to the Nisqually river. The area along the river bank is beautiful, peaceful, and secluded with fantastic views of Rainier. Would also be an ideal basecamp location for day trips into the park.

Site 3: Trestle Bridge View
We had a great stay at this spot! We caught the tail end of a Memorial Day weekend and although the camp was pretty full it still gave plenty of privacy and space. All the other campers were friendly and respectful. The access to bathrooms and showers were nice. A great view from spot 3 of the rail trestle. Close to Mt. Rainier and plenty of hiking trails. Would certainly recommend.

Site 9: Twin lot - Campsite
This hip camp is more like a little park. It has flushing toilets and showers and around 10 sites many with hook ups for RVs. It’s very close to the antique train in Elba and you can see it going by a couple times a day right from the campsite. Everything is very clean and neat and well organized.

Had a fantastic weekend!! There was plenty of space for everyone in our group and the property was clean, beautiful and easy to navigate/explore! The host even had wood to help us start the fire with. Would 100% stay again!

This is a beautiful site set in woodland, small and quiet. Nice clean toilets and showers and the whole site is beautifully kept. We didn’t want to leave.

It was definitely the best site at the camp. I think the price was too high and had hidden fees so paying over $120 for two nights (when Hipcamp site said it would be $45/night) was definitely the most I EVER paid for tent camping. It was pleasant and quiet but having two lights on the entire night lighting up our campsite was a disappointment. It rained a lot so that was not perfect conditions - I would recommend to friends who can't camp at Mt. Rainier NP because it is full and can afford such high prices for tent camping.

Pros: very close to Rainier, easy directions and entry, beautiful view of the scenic train
Cons: bathrooms could be cleaner and the electricity at campsite #1 was not working consistently because a "tree had fallen on it", so required frequent resetting.
Overall, would recommend staying, but those 2 points could be improved!

Site 7: Shaded Railroad Campsite
I loved that it was only 20 min from Niscually entrance of Mount Rainer. The campground is in the forest. I was worried about “the train” but it’s so cute everyone comes out and takes photos of it has it goes by. The campground also has little sculpture gems my favorite was the raccoon.

Great campsite, especially loved the wooden bench swing. Off season so we were the only people there for one night and one of two occupied sites for our second night. We also got to be the first people to use the brand new showers!

We enjoyed it. Our site #7 was private and quiet. Would, and will go back.
One negative, the bathroom had a lot to be desired. No toilet paper, and one toilet was backed up. By the time we left, there was toilet paper and the toilet was fixed.

This place is great. Multiple sized spots. H2O and electricity at each place. Beautiful grounds. Clean and bright bathrooms. Running water. And the trestle is beautiful. Will definitely be back!!!
