These camps are on a 24 acre farm with about 3,500' of frontage on the Entiat River. The land's history has included use as pasture, orchards, and flower farm. It's currently identified as a USDA type silvopasture farm. The priority crop is growing native fir trees that will be harvested in 60+ years as telephone poles. During this time, the land will be grazed by a variety of livestock balanced to keep fields and animals healthy and productive. The current owners purchased the farm fall of 2023 from a family estate that owned it since the 1970s. It is considered a legacy project as work progresses to Firewise the land in support of old growth native trees and maximum summer shade for salmon. During the 2025 grazing season, the NE pasture of 5 acres along the river fed 8 Katahdin Sheep. In Spring 2026, 2 bison were added into the SE pasture of 7 acres that climbs the mountain along the west border. Eagles, Osprey, Red Tail Hawks, Owls, Blue Jays, Chickadees, Beaver, Otter, Martin, American Dippers, Blue Herons, waterfowl, bats, mushrooms, deer, elk, cougar, bear, coyotes, bobcats, and a variety of other interesting birds and bugs abound. There may also be visitors to our farm shop where custom surf/SUP racks, hippie hot tub stands, tables, gates, and other DIY kits are designed and built. This full / new moon special is offered twice per month. We charge the minimum and invite you to contribute an amount you are comfortable with to your county high school Future Farmers of America (FFA), or youth 4H in support of healthy farms and healthy food. You may use your own small RV, camper, or tent. If available, you may be able to make arrangements to use the farm Sprinter Camper Van for an extra $100 charge. Unfortunately, our farm van it is not always available as it sometimes is out rambling testing new van and product kits, or reserved for other uses. Our sites are about 5 miles from Ardenvoir, which is about midway in Section 4 of the WABDR. To the west, along the Entiat River, are public camp areas, trailheads, and connecting dirt roads in all directions. High above to the west is 9,000' + Glacier Peak Wilderness. When you arrive on our farm, you will be at green metal tractor shop/office #317 on the left. On the right is an old brick apple barn where our caretaker and seasonal farm workers camp. You will have a choice of sites along the river, or in the farm yard depending on weather and access. Our caretaker will share what sites are available to choose from after you arrive. There are never more than 2 campsites in use to ensure both privacy and choice. All camp guests need to know that shop and farm work occurs daily 7 days a week. Farm machinery quiet times are generally 8 pm - 6 am other than seasonal irrigation sounds and unexpected situations, opportunities, and events. We also added two young Bison to our farm. They are great fun to watch, but guest must be very respectful and keep dogs on leash and away from them. Otherwise, the bison may come through the fence to get the dog. Note the bison are used to the farm dogs in our area, but may react very different to new dogs or barking dogs. If you have questions once camped or are interested in a guided farm trail walk, our caretaker is an experienced outdoor guide, teacher, and overlander.
