The campsite was not maintained as stated by the previous reviews. It is close to the entrance of the park and I guess one of the last resorts if you can’t stay in the park, but it is the same as staying on the side of the road. We would always recommend going to the Dunrise side in stead!

This site was totally overgrown with weeds, three of the four chairs were broken and the firepit was unusable. I took photos of the site condition but HipCamp won't let me post them in this review. We ended up going to a different RV park down the road, and we were happy we did. I wouldn't waste my time with this spot unless you have no other options. Also very close proximity to the highway make this feel like you're on a busy road.

Unfortunately, this campsite was not what I expected based on the listing. The site was extremely overgrown, making it difficult to set up comfortably. There was also no trash bin available, even though the listing mentioned one would be provided.
Across the road, there’s another campground that appeared to be much better maintained, which made the contrast even more noticeable.
I reached out to the host to ask if anything could be done about the overgrowth, but I never received a response. Overall, the lack of upkeep and communication was really disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this site unless improvements are made.

This site is not maintained. The picnic shelter area was so filthy. I’m glad we brought our own table. 3-4 weeds in graveled area some of which included three ft tall Russian thistle (lots of it). We had a 19 ft trailer and it was impossible to turn around on paths provided. The highway is busy, but only a concern when having to initially park trailer. There are plenty of other places, even across the street or pretty close that are well maintained with plenty of room. It was nice they provided and electrical extension cord, as it was needed. Hosts told me to look up crime report when I asked for rv site and security.

Perfect spot for exploring Mt Rainer NP and surrounding area. Site was clean, reasonably private and well appointed (covered porch, fire pit and chairs) . It is right off the road, so road noise can be a factor. We visited off season and arrived later in the day, so it wasn’t an issue for us. Will definitely stay again.

Such a beautiful little spot, and so close to the entrance as well! The wild berry restaurant across the st had authentic Himalayan dishes that you must check out. The owners were really friendly and stopped in for an introduction and to check the site. Pro tip, if you get into the park before or after peak hours you don’t need a timed entry pass or to pay a fee. This site is a perfect base camp for the early sunrise hikes, or to take your time during sunsets. 🏕️🏔️

Rainier Roadside RV was all about the location! While a little overgrown and confusing to find - it was well worth it to be close to the Rainier entrance. Wildberry restaurant across the street is also a really cool spot for Nepalese food - would definitely recommend!

The site was close to the park and 5 mins from coffee/food - but was a bit overgrown. It was hard to walk anywhere near the picnic tables without having to step down weeds.

This spot was perfect! Right in the town of Ashford before the park entrance which was extremely nice! I was serenaded by owls during the night- it was quite lovely. I do wish I had time to utilize the great fire pit and pavilion though. Had breakfast in town before I hiked up near Rainer. Would recommend!

Camping on Cameron's land went very smooth. The gate was open when we arrived and it was easy to find off the road. We were able to level our camper quickly. There was a very nice fire pit.

We didn’t arrive until after 9pm & we were out early the next day! Not a ton of time actually spent hanging around the spot. We chose to visit Rainier only days after the campsites within the park closed, and this was the closets and most adorable option!

Great spot right off the roadway. Easy to find and super close to the Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier NP. Clean porta potty, fire pit, picnic shelter and even electricity.
We highly recommend you plan to have a meal at wild berry restaurant across the street. We were a little worried about noise when we first arrived, but they aren't open late.

The location is so close to the entrance that we could start our day without losing any time on the road. Note that this is a parking spot for an RV so the ground is gravel and if you’re setting up a tent like we did, you should take notice. We had mats so it was not an issue. It’s by the road but it was so nice and quiet at night.

Simple and clean! Lovely fire pit area. Covered picnic table area! It is a shared space! If you want privacy look elsewhere and stop with the bad reviews. This is a perfect little 2 spot stop just up the road from the park. The porter potty was nice and clean and there’s a restaurant across the road. What more can you ask for?! Thanks Cameron! This review is for *tent camping* at "Site 1". The "campground" is a tiny little place; basically a gravel/crushed-rock driveway that forked to give two spaces to back in RVs. There is an OK shelter with 2 picnic tables in it and a small fire pit with 3 plastic adirondack chairs between the RV spots. The only space we found flat enough for our small tent was back into the woods behind the shelter (Cameron suggested it, sorta bonus points to him). However it was under a large cedar and we had some cedar gunk on our fly by the 2nd morning. The first night, Site 2 had a couple campers who were starting the Wonderland trail the next day. One slept on the concrete floor of the shelter, the other apparently slept on the neighbor's property, on the flat space beyond the handwritten sign saying "Keep out, no campers, this is not campsite property." The second night also had campers in Site 2. They pitched their tent on the rocks of the RV parking area.
On the plus side, the campsite is super convenient to Rainier, like 5 minutes is you drive real slow.
Overall, I'd suggest planning well ahead so you can get into one of the nicer nearby campgrounds. But, if you can't, this place is an acceptable last-minute booking if you don't plan on much time in camp or if you use an RV.

Clean site, less than one mile from the nisqually entrance- right off the side of the main road. Nice picnic table and fire pit. Across from wild berry cafe which is a popular restaurant. It’s a pretty bare bones site but everything is as advertised.

I should have read the other reviews prior to booking. As other have mentioned, while the location is good, the lot size is extremely small and right on top of a busy road (porta potty is in the actual road shoulder). We did not actually stayed after booking since there was already another camper taking up both "campsites" and we could not imagined that this would turn into a pleasant experience for us. The host offered partial refund, which was fair considering his cancellation policy.
