This place is incredible!! The alder grove dispersed site was perfect for our tents and hammocks, and had super cute goats nearby. The barn is also gorgeous and we will 100% be back for some live music! Laurie was a super welcoming host :)

This was an amazing find! Thank you Quilcene Lantern folks for making my first solo camp trip special!! Only 40ish miles from Seattle, by Bainbridge Ferry. Really easy to find, and the property is well marked. The welcome brochure was a special touch. I went on a weekday, and it's not yet summer so it was quieter, which i didn't mind. I saw Laurie, one of the hosts and we had a nice chat. Everyone is so friendly. They all waved hello when walking by. And they have goats and a couple barn cats! They are both very friendly. 20 bucks for such a great spot is a steal. It's also only a 8-10 minute drive to QFC if you need to pick up anything. I plan to come back with my boyfriend and friends to see the music on the weekends!

I found the property to be very peaceful. And, due to them having some mild construction around putting in new septic, I was given my choice of camping in the aldergrove or out in the field. Field. I chose the field, and I got two and pretty much enjoy it alone for the whole time. My French Bulldog really had fun, it was a nice, easy place to walk around and be at peace. They do have a lovely old Barn where they host live music and have snacks and pizza available. And they also do coffee, etc in the mornings. Excellent trip and I will recommend it to friends

We camped here for one night after catching a show at the event barn. Such a fun evening! The farm and barn are such a beautiful setting and the family that runs it are also lovely. We look forward to more camping and live music here this summer!

OMG! Discovering Quilcene Lantern was amazing and we will definitely be back! We stayed in our campervan at the Tarboo Creek site. It was private and roomy enough for us and our friends who slept in a tent. We enjoyed this quiet space to cook, chill-out and sit around our own fire-ring in the evening. By day we walked the grounds including the trail to the equine cemetery, ventured to the barn for happy hour and our group also went for coffee and breakfast offerings. Laurie, Steve and their family are extremely welcoming and love to share their stories about coming to have this beautiful property and their vision for the future there. Bonus - there was live music by The Faux Paws and later a line-dancing class that was over the top fun! Did I mention the goats that are part of the farm and who charmed everyone?!
This Hipcamp is close to downtown Quilcene and Chimicum's Finnriver Farm & Cidery. Both locations worth some time to explore.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful campsite just moments from one of the most fun music and event venues in the area. Admittedly we were not the most “peaceful” campers but we had a blast and were very appreciative of the space.

We loved staying on Laurie’s land. Laurie was amazing and gave us an awesome tour of the property where we saw the most adorable little goats! Would absolutely recommend staying here on this beautiful property!

Although we only had one night to spend at the Tarboo Creek site, it was a wonderful night!. Campfire, stars, and the sound of the creek running all night. We will definitely be back.

The Lantern land is beautiful and secluded feeling. I was the only camper among the grove of alders and felt very much in my own space. The nearby adorable goats were a bonus. I was there to hear music in their barn, and that space is already magical, and clearly will only become more so as they perfect it. Loved my stay

Fatastic space to relax, camp and take in the beauty of the peninsula. Easy to find and check-in was a breeze. Alder Grove camping is quiet, clean and the ground is soft enough to easily pitch a tent. Picnic tables, hammocks, gardens and farm animals are all lovely as well. Port-o's were clean and smelled great. Would love to come back again to experience a show at the barn. On par if not better than many state or federal run sites in Washington.. same price too at 25 dollars a night. Highly reccomend.

We loved spending the night in the Alder Grove at the Quilcene Lantern. Getting setup as super easy, and I had a lovely time enjoying a cup of coffee and talking to the owners over breakfast the morning after. Thank you!

Quilcene Lantern was beyond my wildest dreams for a place to see a show and spend the night. We got to the venue and had a picnic dinner in the designated area. There were multiple picnic tables, and we sat among the trees and enjoyed the view. There was a music show the night we were there, so we got to see some live music and had a fantastic time. In the morning, we woke to a beautiful day and had coffee from the coffee bar served by Steve and Laurie. There were other guests, and we could relive the past evening's music. We will be back for sure!

I camped in the Alder Grove for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The property is well maintained and cute. Camping was quiet and peaceful even on the night there was a DJ at the barn. We couldn't hear the band at all from our campsite.
I would highly recommend Alder Grove to anyone visiting the peninsula.

Lots of places in the Alder Grove to choose from for a campsite. Great check in directions. Wonderful wagons to help cart our equipment to the campsite. Fun music venue on the property, the Quilcene Lantern. We enjoyed the DJ dance party Saturday night. Laurie and Steve are so gracious and welcoming! Great hosts! Great coffee and breakfast sandwich in the morning. We'll be back!

My second time staying here was just as amazing as the first- maybe even better with live music followed by a vinyl DJ dance party on Saturday night. The hosts and their family are warm and welcoming. Hope to squeeze in another trip before the rainy season sets in. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a great place to camp if you are in the area! The hosts are very organized and provided clear instructions upon arrival. It is clear that they put in the effort to make the campers experience better by doing things like marking the paths well and providing chairs and picnic tables. The hosts are very friendly and we appreciated them checking in on us. We will be definitely staying here again!

Laurie, Steve and family have an amazing property- and they’re wonderful hosts. We got tons of recommendations from them for other camping options around WA and OR.
We enjoyed the happy hour and coffee / breakfast options on Sat and Sun. It was great to be able to take a short walk and have a great cup of coffee and friendly convo in the morning.
The RV sites are just a few hundred feet from the main venue / barn. We were able to get out of the sun and relax in the barn and play cards / cool off during the heat of the day.
A definite recommend! Can’t wait to go back and visit again soon.
Also- they have live music at times. We didn’t get to experience it on this visit, but we’ll go back again soon. I love that they operate many of those events on suggested donations and “no one turned away for lack of funds” philosophy. That should come as no surprise once you get to know the hosts and their passion about music and providing access to any and everyone with an interest in music education.
Visit this place. But don’t take our spot. :)
