Boggan's Oasis is in the SE corner of Washington state, right on the breathtaking Grande Ronde River. Visitors can arrive by driving to the bottom of Rattlesnake Grade (WA-129), or the bottom of Buford Grade (OR-3). These two curvacious roads are extremely popular rides for motorcyclists and bicyclists nationally. Visitors may also arrive by water (rafts, driftboats, jetboats, kayaks, etc) coming downriver from Oregon, or upriver from the Snake River (WA/ID). Many other unpaved roads will lead guests to our canyon, which creates great opportunities for off-road vehicle adventures! The Grande Ronde River, which drains much of northeast Oregon's Union and Wallowa counties, is fed by snowpack in the Elkhorn Mountains. The Wallowa River, a major tributary to the Grande Ronde, headwaters in the Wallowa Mountains, mostly within the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Twenty-two miles from Boggan's Oasis, the Grande Ronde River flows into the mighty Snake River. The river is surrounded by steep, rugged canyon walls that rise 3000 to 4000 feet above the river level. Dense conifer forests blend into grassy slopes set off by scattered conifer "stringers." Called "The Land of Winding Waters" by Native Americans, the river is home to rainbow trout, dolly varden, whitefish, squawfish, suckers, bass, and steelhead. Rocky Mountain elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, bighorn sheep, bear, bald eagles, and a variety of smaller animals and birds can be seen daily. And yes, there are rattlesnakes! Fishing, hunting, hiking, all kinds of boating/floating, offroad vehicle riding, and animal/bird watching are beyond expectations in this area. Seasonally, guests can also successfully gather a variety of mushrooms and berries while on one of the many nearby hiking trails. Many of these short walks also lead to incredible, far-reaching views of the Blue Mountains, Wenaha wildlife sanctuary, Hells Canyon, and the tri-state area. In the hotter summer months, the swimming hole below the Boggan's Bridge is a popular way to cool off. Boggan's Oasis also offers fishing trips, float trips, shuttles, and a FULL restaurant! This spot is located directly behind Cabin 4 / 5. Set up your own OASIS right in the center of the OASIS overnights area. There is access to electricity (50 amp plug in) and water spouts. OKAY to use propane fire pit or propane/charcoal bbq when fires are permitted. No septic hookups, but there is a dump stations at the state park up the road. There is a WDFW-maintained restroom open just down the hill at the boat launch. Restrooms are also available for use in our restaurant. Dog friendly. Tia and Louis where very welcoming and helpful. Great to be back at Boggans and on the Grande Ronde again. Looking forward to next year.

The surrounding area is spectacularly beautiful. The river below property is a sweet spot to take a dip in and ride the current down. The lawn is plush and soft for camping on and it's super quiet there. Ask about toilets and running water before signing up. Louis, the owner, was very welcoming. Just in the morning four dogs and an ostrich are adorale when running around. The sculptures are fantastic! My two favorite are the UFO ship and a colorful cactus.

Nice and clean. AC works well and it was quite hot. The emu was fun. If youbarrive after dark, habe a flashlight to navigate the stairs. The solar lights are fun but they arent on tue stairs. Restaurant may close early.

Beautiful property, amazing restaurant, amazing family. Our granddaughter will forever have an amazing memory to hold on to. The area is so unique and should be seen if you haven't already.

The hosts (tia) were terrific. Enjoyed the hospitality that went above and beyond. Tia assisted with extra gas as my fuel line had leaked. Above and beyond right in the middle of big horn country

I rode my bicycle into the canyon and stayed in a cabin. The cabin was rustic and comfortable. The hosts are amazingly accommodating! I highly recommend the Oasis!

Absolutely love staying at Boggans Oasis. The property is beautiful and the cabins are very cozy and comfortable. Incredible views for our cabin that included sheep, mule deer, elk and of course the Grande Ronde. The perfect place to unwind and get away. Tia and her family are amazing and took very good care of us.

Well kept cabin and plenty of wild life in the area. Definitely check in with the hosts when you arrive so you can get tips and tricks to exploring the area. Looking to bring the kids back later this year for the fishing experience!

Third year on the Ronde. 2nd year at Boggans Oasis. Lucked into a cabin year 1 and used an RV this time. Tia is a great host and effective communicator. Lewis is a force to be reckoned with. Talking fishing with Lewis is always a highlight. Hoping to get in his boat soon and experience him as a guide.

We had so much fun! It was very nice to have a warm place to stay after fishing. The flock of turkeys patrolling the area kept my kids entertained!

Cabins 2 and 3 need some attention
Oasis Cabin 2
Cabins 2 and 3 = 1-star rating Cabin 4 = 4-star rating We stayed in Cabins 2, 3, and 4. When we checked in, we were told there were no keys for the door to Cabin 3 and we should not leave any valuables in there. When we said that doesn't work, they gave us the last key to that cabin. The door locks on 2 and 3 are old and need replacing. The cabins have a microwave, but only small plastic cups are provided. There is no way to heat water unless you bring your own mug, etc. The mattresses in 2 and 3 should be replaced and the sheets were clean, but the blankets were stained. The bedding in 4 and 5 was better and cabins 4 and 5 are in better shape. There is no way to prepare your own food at these cabins, but that is obvious from the booking page, so that is not included in my review.

Oasis Cabin 2
I loved staying in one of the small cabins here. It had everything I wanted and needed but nothing else. The beds were comfortable and the small shower had ample hot water. The towels are luxurious! The cabin was very clean. There’s a four-cup coffee maker with coffee and supplied. Early morning coffee on the small porch deck while viewing and hearing the river was worth the every cent of the room rate! Tia and Louis also own and operate the restaurant located right by the highway. I did not want to leave! The location, efficient and comfortable little cabin, and wonderful host family make this a relaxing and. Perfect place to stay for those who don’t need or want luxury surroundings…like me.

I loved my visit to Boggan’s Oasis, a one-of-a-kind stay! For starters the road on which it is located is spectacular. Then you are greeted by warm welcoming folks that run the accommodation. They have a wonderful restaurant too—besides delicious food it is decorated with local history photo montages and wild life displays. There’s a nice lawn to camp on and it was super quiet at night under the amazing starry sky. They have cozy cabins and places to park an RV too. I explored the road along the river (where others like to fish) and saw a Golden Eagle. It really is an oasis! I’ll be back for sure. Thanks Tia and all the crew!

Had a great stay Oasis. Great views, river very close, and trails nearby. Cabin was very clean even with a late booking. Owners were very friendly and food was good at the restaurant nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

We had just spent a week on the Grande Ronde River and this was the oasis we needed. Comfortable and clean accommodations with great food and incredibly hospitable hosts! Location is right at the take out which makes the transition getting off the river a breeze!

The cabin is small and cozy, but had everything we needed. The hosts are friendly and accomodating. We were there during a less-than-busy time, and it was very relaxing and peaceful. There are places to take short walks along the river.
