Jaenette is an excellent host! She was super easy to communicate with and the check in process was seamless. The land was absolutely stunning and had amazing access to the water! Just know if you have dogs there are TONS of stickers all over the site and their poor little paws will get pricked :/. It’s definitely a shoes on situation. But other than that, we had a wonderful weekend and will absolutely be back!

Site 4 - North Cove WA Washaway Camping

Very quiet oceanfront spots. Would highly recommend. Jeanette, was very helpful upon check in to make sure we found the site and were happy with our spot. The dogs noted in other reviews were present occasionally but friendly. We towed a 42 ft 5th wheel and had a bit of trouble getting in. We were on the farthest side from the port-o-potty. There is soft, deep sand in a few areas and other areas are packed with gravel and firm. We grabbed some wood from the hardware store to make our exit easier. It is navigable with a strong big rig, but be prepared to scout your path carefully and having some wood is helpful to throw down in the soft spots to prevent your tires from sinking. Overall, excellent time and campground.

Site 5 - North Cove WA Washaway Camping

This was such a wonderful place to camp! The campsite felt very private, you could constantly hear the ocean, and it was literally about 10 steps from the sand. It was my first time visiting Westport, and I stayed for three days. I spent one of those days driving up to Ocean Shores, and honestly, I wish I would’ve just stayed in Westport! I much preferred Westport’s cute downtown and boardwalk area and how walkable everything was. There wasn’t much for me to do in Ocean Shores, and between the wind and all the vehicles driving on the beach, it didn’t really feel like the kind of beach where I could just lay out and relax. Westport was much more my speed. My only real recommendation that would’ve made the campsite even better would be picnic tables. I probably should’ve looked into that beforehand and brought my own table, but I didn’t, so I ended up doing a lot of my cooking on the trunk of my car lol. Definitely something I’d come prepared for next time! A couple of other things worth knowing: the neighbors have two dogs that roam around the beach and campsite quite a bit. I’m not a huge dog person, and they would randomly pop up next to my tent at night or come hang out around the fire lol, but they were very friendly and honestly didn’t bother me at all. There’s also a pretty bright streetlight nearby, so I’d keep that in mind when choosing where and which direction to set up your tent if you prefer it dark at night. Overall, Westport and this spot 100%!!!

Incredible beachfront location, but quite deep sand on the way in. If you get there early, there is hard packed grassy sand to drive over but if you get one of the last spots folks will have parked on the hard pack and it’ll be more of a challenge. Totally doable, just wanted to give a heads up. Overall great spot!

This was a great experience for my wife and I. The views were outstanding, Jaenette was super attentive to each person, and it was very quiet even with other people around. There are spots that are secluded but you need a truck or bigger vehicle to get through the sand so we stayed on a large plot where 5 other small groups camped.

Overall we had a good time, Jaenette was super kind. We did have some run-ins with the local dogs that weren’t ideal, and encountered lots of goat heads at our site. Beach access was great and toilet was well maintained.

I loved the view at our campsite. My kids really enjoyed the beach. Just walking distance to our site. And Jeannette was very nice, she told us the nice places to visit, although we didn’t go to those places it’s really nice to know about. And the porta potty was a plus. Would definitely go there again.

Crashing surf

Jaenette found us a perfect spot with a fire ring and trail straight to the beach. The neighbor across the street sells firewood so we didn’t have to go far for it. I was looking forward to falling asleep to the sound of crashing sure, and I got my wish. The property is not as big as I expected. There will be other people camping near you, but everyone was friendly and quiet. I can’t wait to stay there again.

Site 3 - North Cove WA Washaway Camping

We loved Jaenette's grounds along the beach at North Cove. Exactly as described. Primitive and pristine. Sites are well-spaced apart, right along the beach. We shared the area with two other camp parties and felt completely private. Beautiful beach. Jaenette is a wonderful host. Excellent communication and she really cares that you are comfortable.

On the beach!

It definitely was a beachfront spot. Best part was that there was a ton of sea life there. I saw many sea lions, porpoises, and I even saw two whales. If the weather is good, you can't go wrong. There were many fishing boats cruising up and down the beach in front of the campsite and they were catching salmon (I was there at the middle of August). Jaenette is the best! She is so friendly. When she tells you she will meet and greet you at her gift shop don't be concerned that there is an issue. She just wants to make sure you get to the correct spot because there's no real campsite markings and you need here to assess what you're driving and get you situated correctly. She's the real McCoy and she cares.

Overpriced but great location

Ok here's the good-- site is beautiful, all sites have access to the beach, it's gorgeous and sandy you can hear the ocean in your tent. Location is truly unbeatable. The compound is on a road at the beach, so some sites are on the ocean side of the beach and other sites are on the other side of the road. Site 3 is on the other side of the road, and we still had great views. Jaenette the camp host was very friendly. Overall, location was the best part of this place.
