When the opportunity presented itself in late 2018, Dan and Maggie teamed up with Chuck and Susie Velie to purchase 130 acres along the Hoh River. They all had a common goal of providing an intimate outdoor experience for those looking to disconnect themselves from the everyday life and reconnect with nature by offering an incredible outdoor experience. Chuck Velie, (son of Gary and Beth Velie) is the great-great grandson of John Huelsdonk, more commonly known as the Iron Man of the Hoh. This property has been in the family for many many generations. It is our goal to preserve the heritage of this property while drawing tourism and helping local businesses attract customers. We believe that this is an investment in our community that rewards us today and leaves an invaluable resource for future generations. Maple Creek Outfitter is dedicated to creating the best outdoor experience for their guests including comfortable rustic accommodations and an environment that is rich in beauty and bounty.

Site 4 - Hoh River Campsites
Perfect Olympic Peninsula Spot!
What a great place! We are generally public land dispersed campers, but the Olympic Peninsula is a little tricky in that regard. It was fantastic to be able to reserve a spot here, and Maggie and Dan are certainly doing it right! They've got 130 acres and have carved out 9 spots near the river, and we felt plenty isolated but super close to the southwest coast of the peninsula and Forks. We even cooked dinner riverside the last night, and their river access is amazing; you could spend your whole time out here without leaving their property. Thanks for the great stay, Maggie and Dan!

Lovely site!
We had a wonderful two nights at a very quiet and peaceful large campsite next to a creek. We picked salmonberries, saw bunnies and frogs, walked the pleasant Maple trail, and hung out by the river. Maggie stopped by during our first night to check in and see if we had any questions and was a very pleasant host. The porta-lous were super clean. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The property and sites are spacious and beautiful! We loved the river access on the property, and the close proximity to ONP beaches. We will be back!

Site 2 - TENT or SMALL TRAILER
Beatiful spot with river access
This hipcamp is very organized and well maintained. Maggie came to say hi upon our arrival. The wood we purchased from them was some of the best firewood I've used in along time. Other than that, we were left entirely alone to enjoy the property. Site 2 was great because there is a flat spot on top of a little hill there that is very private. You can tent on it, or even back up a mini-trailer to it. Just a 5 minute walk down the road is an amazing length of river access. Really stunning and private. A short drive from the hipcamp is coastal beach access, and Forks.
