This property is a large RV site with 2 separate hookups directly across the street from Mayo Cove Inlet, 1 mile from Penrose State Park, 3 miles from Joemma State Park, and less than a mile from Bay Lake. Across the street from the RV site is access to Mayo Cove Inlet where you can easily drop your kayak or paddle board into the water. (Know Lakebay Marina is currently not open). There is still access to the water! It's only a short paddle out before you will have a stunning, unobstructed view of Mt Rainier. Penrose and Joemma offer clamming, fishing, oyster/muscle hunting in season. Bay Lake is known for amazing fishing, including large mouth bass and rainbow trout. This RV site is a perfect landing spot while you spend your days adventuring. There is also a full RV trailer on the upper lot available if you wish to travel with friends. Robyn was super responsive and helpful. Great little home base to venture out from. There is road noise but died down at night and you can just cross the road and go down to the abandoned marina. Great little bay to explore and easy paddle up to Penrose State Park if you bring your own paddle boards/canoes/kayaks. Pay attention to the tides if you’re going to play on the water or else you’ll be stuck in the muck!

Convenient location to the marina boat ramp for paddling. Host is very helpful and accommodating. Site features electric hookups and is spacious. Plenty of room for maneuvering, even for a newbie like me.

We had such a good time staying at this place. Robyn is amazing, so friendly and helpful! This place is right across the street from a historic marina. We walked our chairs down for morning coffee, and sat by the water for evening cocktails. We fished Bay lake which is 5 minutes away. So fun!! Wine tasting was fabulous and a must at Two Fox winery! We recommend this booking and will visit again!!

Beautiful setting with the bay right across the street. Robyn and her son were both very nice and helpful. It was a challenge backing our 42’ into the spot but we made it with a little maneuvering. The is traffic noise from the road next to the site but it didn’t keep us up and we spent our time either by the bay or visiting.

We really enjoyed Robyn's camp spot! There was plenty of room for our RV and boat. We had a beautiful view of the water across the street and a nice, big area to run our dogs. It was a great spot for us to explore the Puget Sound area, including Tacoma, Gig Harbor and several beautiful state parks. We would definitely consider coming back. Robyn was very helpful in answering all of our questions and suggesting places we might want to explore.

We stayed at Robyn’s for 6 nights. It was a great spot to head out to many beaches. Super close to Penrose Point, also a small lake nearby (Bay Lake), also Joemma Beach to name a few. The amenities are great, with power and water. The deserted marina across the street is a great area to just walk around, looking over towards Penrose. Robyn is very accommodating and came over to introduce herself and make sure we had everything we needed. The site is on a road with high traffic, this quiets down during the week and later in the evenings.

We had a nice weekend away which was exactly what we needed. It was just my husband and I but this would be a great spot for a group. Robyn is very kind and accommodating. The site is as described, which was a relief after our first Hipcamp experience. As others have said it’s right next to the road but if you read the description and reviews there’s no surprises as to what you’re in for. We were in our 39 ft class A with a Jeep Cherokee. You would still have ample room with two RVs at this site. Thank you Robyn!

Did not expect the site to be right next to a sharp curve of a road that had traffic. Seemed a little scary if a driver missed the curve and could easily hit our unit. Site is not truly flat, instead rocky in spots and patchy weed growth in others which was tricky to level our unit. Picnic table could be replaced. We vacated a day early because of the issues.

We loved Robyn's spot! Plenty of space for our schoolie and the water was right across the street. We enjoyed paddleboarding and kayaking. Robyn was a very gracious host. Will stay again!

The spot was easy to get into though I was confused initially and thought that there was another RV in it since the other RV is very close to where the spot is - I should have read the listing better and not arrived at night. Not at all the site owners fault but I had a really disturbing interaction with a local while I was just sitting in my van trying to figure out the spot - he shone a flashlight in my eyes deliberately and rudely asked me a bunch of questions about what I was doing there - and then he came back in the morning 2x and took a picture of my license plate - I have no idea what I did to annoy him - I believe he just did not like people (tourists?/campers?/foreigners?) being in what he thought of as his own area.

Booked this HipCamp at the past minute so we could explore the area before heading home. Robyn's place is great. Hooks ups are there for power although we didn't use them. Easy in and easy out. Don't miss the turn into their place or you will have to loop back around a lovely scenic drive around the lake as there wasn't a decent place to turn the car and trailer around. Cute little fawns and mama deer on the circle around crossed the street and into the woods.🦌 🦌 ,🦌 Def would stay again.

Robyn’s place was a great solution for an overnight stay with our RV. It was fairly easy to get in and out of. Neighboring RV was a little close. The views were amazing of the bay and the morning walk was amazing with sightings of eagles and seals.

We had a good nights sleep. We have a 40 foot motorhome. It fit in the spot very well. I did need to put some wood under the front tires to raise the front up a bit. Robyn is a good communicator. Beautiful walks along the water. Amazing sunset! I recommend the place.

Robyn’s spot is great! Quiet and peaceful. Love view of the water and the old marina. A little noise from the road next to the site but only during the morning and evening commute, we hardly noticed it. We came up from Oregon to visit friends in Tacoma, but didn’t want to be in Tacoma. This spot worked out perfectly, we will be back.

It’s a great spot! Beautiful scenery, peaceful. There is a road right by the site that gets some traffic but we were not bothered by it. Water and power hookups (50amp and 15amp). Just across the street from the Lakebay Marina which is no longer in operation but lovely to walk around. We stayed here to visit friends in Tacoma, without having to stay in Tacoma. It worked well for us.

We were out of luck on finding a public campground late in the day and found Robyn’s site on Hip camp. We were able to secure a great place to stay on late notice in the dark. Simple but well laid out and across the street from a beautiful inlet and proximate to Penrose Park. Thanks!

Loved our experience here! The spot is perfect for a little get away. Being right across a small lake, with a small fire going, and enjoying the clear skies really left us wanting to stay longer. Great spot with an even better host! Thank you again Robyn!

Robyn is a super host. She communicates very well, responding almost instantly and sending clear instructions. Her sites are clean and assessable. She has all the required hookups for a tent trailer or RV alike. The area is great. Lots of great walks and views of the sound and it’s close (a five min drive) to Penrose Point. There was even a new and delicious Mexican food restaurant (I think the name is 2 Margaritas) only 3 min away. My only recommendation is to bring ear plugs. The trucks that drive by don’t care about being crazy loud. 100% not Robyn’s fault. I would give this site my highest recommendation.

Robyn’s place is a great location for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. We stayed only one night en route to another destination, but will visit again and stay longer to enjoy this lovely spot. Power and water available as was a picnic table and recycling bin. There was a little road noise but quiet at night.

My only issues with this spot is the lack of privacy and the noise. It can get very quiet, like on a Saturday morning or at night, but during the day; Thursday-Friday when we were there, it was very noisy with big trucks and just traffic in general. It’s fine if you don’t stay at your spot during the day as the night was decently quiet. But because it is on a busy corner, it is busy. We also had people just stop while driving by and look at us and two separate people approach us about what we were doing? Plus there were countless cars driving in and out of the marina across the street that is supposed to be closed. They have a great view and once the trees grow that they have planted on the road, there will be more privacy and a bit of a sound buffer.

Robyn was a great host! The sight was perfect for our 5 night stay. It is close to the road but the traffic was light even for a holiday weekend. The sight is directly across from the Lake Bay Marina/Water and it was an easy Kayak launch and nice paddle. Would definitely stay again.

What a cool spot to spend a few nights! Hosts were great, campsite was clean and had electrical and water hookups and hosts provided bins for recycling and rubbish. We will come again! Thank you Robyn.

Robyn's little piece of land is a great escape from the city, but within easy driving distance. The pier and beach across the street make for an interesting place to explore, and the State Park is just minutes away. The adjacent road is a little busier than anticipated, but it didn't affect our stay appreciably.
