We have several dry tent sites and 1 RV site nestled on this beautiful treed lot. Another RV site and cabin rental coming soon. Listen to the birds and other sounds of nature as you sit by the fire. Site is currently dry (no power, running water or electricity) but a portable sink/toilet is available in the "little shed" or visitors may use their own portable camp toilet. Site is about 10 mins from the Coupeville/Port Townsend ferry, 15 mins from the charming oceanside town of Coupeville (one of Washington’s oldest towns), Ebey’s Landing National Historic Preserve and Penn Cove (known for world renowned oysters). Island Transit bus stop right across the street (dial a ride) and biking/hiking trails surrounding the site in case you’d rather not drive. Aside from its natural beauty and beaches, the island has many great restaurants, farms and wineries to enjoy while visiting. We hope you enjoy your stay! Sit around the campfire and listen to the birds and enjoy nature on this beautiful treed lot. Eagles, rabbits and occasional visits from the local deer lend to the appeal. We have several tent sites and 1 dry RV site available now. Cabin and 1 more RV site coming soon. Site is currently dry (no power, running water or electricity) but a portable sink/toilet is available in the "little shed" or visitors may use their own portable camp toilet. 1 gallon containers of drinking water are available for use onsite. There are several areas to gather, a gazebo area to use for shade and propane grill and camp chairs available for use. Please put everything back as found. Site is not fenced but there is a small fenced area with shed for use with pets. Pets should be kept in fenced pet area or otherwise restrained for their safety and the safety of other campers. Off leash pets are pet owners risk and responsibility. Site is still being worked so some areas are seeded but have no grass yet. Please avoid these areas to prevent damage to emerging grass or native plants.

Ena's campsite was lovely! Several spaces with privacy equal to or greater than state/national parks. Not every site had a campfire ring but there was only one other group there so we were able to use another site's fire pit. The toilet was really nice, indoors, lots of room, and a handwashing sink! Thanks again Ena!

Beautiful property and very close to Coupeville and Oak Harbor. Be able to have a campfire was also a plus! Definitely staying here in the future!

It was a very quick stay and turnaround so I did not fully experience the Hipcamp. It looked very nice and I could tell there was a lot of thoughtfulness! So many things provided! There was potable water, I saw an outdoor shower set up and there was a common area in the middle that looked fun! Getting there was a little tricky and would suggest some more detail directions to guests after booking. I also wasn’t able to get ahold of the host for a couple hours to help finding it as well as a couple other questions. The space itself is small but the site I was at seemed huge! Could fit multiple tents. There was steady noise from the road so that was a bummer. All in all would probably be a great base for exploring Whidbey!

It's a beautiful setting on a beautiful island. The jets can be loud, but it's only for a couple of hours and not often. The campground feels safe and peaceful. The host is responsive to requests for maintenance on their facilities.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The site felt very private with its own gate, and everything was clean and well maintained. Site #7 was especially great — it’s the largest spot and comes with a gazebo, fire pit, and picnic table, which made it even better!

Campsites are large and give the feeling of space. Firewood was dry. Water jugs were refilled and bathroom was cleaned in the morning.

Very private little camp ground behind a locked gate. Perfect jumping off point for exploring so many of the great adventures on the island. We will definitely stay here again! Communication with the host was excellent.

The spot was peaceful, pet friendly and clean. The toilet was also very clean. We felt very safe. We would stay here again if we are back on whidbey island.

We had a wonderful time tent camping at Island Retreat! The grounds are very well thought out, right down to the last detail. We had site #3 and enjoyed having such a large area to ourselves, yet it's very private with only 7 total sites. They really did think of everything, including a shower, hand washing station, and an adorable little bathroom. It was close to our activities, which included hiking and a jet boat tour at Deception Pass. We also visited the quaint town of Coupeville for a walk around the historic district and out on the Warf. The fighter jets were practicing touch and go's for about an hour, which, although a bit loud, was very cool to watch. The next morning we were only about 5 minutes away from our early ferry. Overall, we had a great time and would love to stay here again!

Site #2 was nice and spacious on Ena’s land. Felt safe because the property is behind a locked gate. Great location to stop for the night on our way through Whidbey.

Charming setup. We were in a camping van and there was a large gravel area to park it. Quail and all kinds of birds were in the grassy area and the blackberry bushes. Very, very comfortable!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Island Retreat. The campsites were clean and well maintained. The location was perfect for our daytime adventures around a truly beautiful island. Ena was a fantastic host. We appreciate the care she has given to ensure a great camping experience and we look forward to returning for a visit here again. Thank you so much!

So happy to have discovered HipCamp! Our first ever stay was at Ena’s lovely property, and it was fantastic. Instructions were easy to follow and property was super easy to access. Ena supplies camping basics to her guests, and it was so nice to have these available to us if needed. We’d highly recommend Ena’s HipCamp property, and will be back!

I loved this place! It was very well priced, and came with so much. I truly had a great stay and I would definitely recommend staying here. On top of that, the light polution was very low so the stars were really shining! Very clean and beauitful place. Thanks again Ena!

Relatively private sites. Small, easy access from main road, has a little bit of the feel of camping in your backyard though. Overall, it was a positive experience. Quiet, The host was quick to respond and the sites were well maintained.

Plenty of space at sites, however only two of the sites have firepits. We were lucky enough to have the campgrounds to ourselves for the most part and still be able to use the firepits. Overall a decent little spot

Communication with Ena was so easy - she responded quickly and answered my questions. The site is conveniently located to make hikes in island state parks very easy to get to. Many good restaurants are nearby. The individual sites are large, and the campground is private from the surrounding area. It was well-maintained. The only thing that was a bit difficult for me were the jets on maneuvers from the local Naval airbase. They flew randomly during the day, but also beginning at nine PM on a couple nights. It wouldn’t keep me from camping there again but I would be more prepared for the noise.

Good spot a few minutes from the ferry. Excellent for a one night stay in our 28ft travel trailer. Pretty camp area. Not an easy maneuver for our 51 ft total set up, but we made it work. Didn’t have to unhook because we were the only ones there. Great tent sites and perfect car/van/camper spots for sure. Pretty quiet. Lots of good birds 🦅 including a pair of eagles!
