This is my second time tent camping at High Ridge Retreat, and another really nice experience. The property is secluded enough to be peaceful, but also populated enough to feel safe for a solo tent camper since it’s nestled in an off-grid community. The location is a very convenient jumping-off point to North Cascades National Park and convenient to amenities in Marblemount. Another great stay!

The lot is only surrounded by 1 neighbor so it feels very secluded and private despite being in a campground. Porta potty is a very short walk. Perfect if you’re driving East to West across North Cascades NP. Alexandra is very prompt with responses if you need anything.

The instructions were a little confusing but once we got there we had a nice time. It's close to a lot of different trails and water access points in the area. The site is mostly shaded which is great for this week's heat wave. The porta potty was close by and it was nice and clean. It would be great if they had more than one card to get in and out of the gate. If you have more than 1 vehicle, you have to show up and leave at the same time.

Imagine: a tiny spot without bench nor picnic table in a gated community. Facilities are far away, the neighbors lulls you to sleep and wake you up with their electric generators.
This could be a nice space, however this wasn't the case when we spent the night at Alexandra's hipcamp. We got in touch with host to find a fair solution but did not receive a satisfactory answer.

Alexandrea was a great host! She was very accommodating to our changing plans and number of guests. We enjoyed the location of the camp site and found it very accessible and clean. The community that the campsite is in was fun to be a part of! The porta potty was right down the road from us (a 1 minute walk) and well maintained. Access to the campsite was simple and the directions for entry from Alexandrea were easily understandable. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will surely be back!

We had great difficulty finding a campground reservations within reach of the North Cascades NP. We looked for an alternatives and found this spot. The host was responsive and directions were clear (and you do need specific directions, not google maps). The site doesn’t offer anything for kids and has very steep sides. It’s basically an empty lot amongst a bunch of other tiny homes and cabins tucked into the hill. We were able to get our trailer around some tight corners (21 foot pop-up) but I would not recommend anything larger. The lot was definitely big enough for our camper and truck. There is a fire pit and trash can on the lot but you gotta pack out your trash. The biggest downside was the toilet situation. There is a portopotty a 100 yards away down a steep hill. This one toilet must service a lot of people as it was nearly filled to the brim during our stay. Also there are an abundance of mosquitoes and these tiny biting black flies so bring plenty of bug repellent. I am glad we got a spot and it worked for our needs. If you don’t have kids and you plan to spend most of your time away from camp this is a good fit.

This spot was just what we were looking for! The almost fully shaded spot was appreciated during 80° heat. About a 45 min drive from Diablo Lake it made a good jumping off point to the rest of the North Cascades.

This place is quite nice—spacious, peaceful, and located in a very safe area. However, there are a few drawbacks. There’s no wooden bench for seating, no proper fireplace setup, and no grill provided. The toilets are quite far, requiring either a drive or at least a 10-minute walk. The owner mentioned there would be a water tap, but I couldn’t find one.
That said, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place and would love to go camping there again. Next time, I’ll make sure to bring everything I need: chairs, a portable toilet, extra water (besides drinking water), and a grill for cooking.

Such a cute, quiet community and a clean place to set up our little trailer. We could see the neighbors houses around us but it was very quiet and anyone passing by was very friendly. The sound of the river was lovely,
Our directions took us to the back gate accidentally, so make sure you come in off of Cascade River Rd.

I loved this spot! It’s private but nestled in a community, so it feels both secluded and safe. It did take us a while to find the community at large (cell service / GPS is spotty and took us to the back of the community) but once we were in through the gate, the written instructions on how to find the actual campsite were very clear.
The site was quiet, peaceful, and perfect for setting up a tent. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway close to North Cascades National Park.

We loved camping here, it was peaceful and we loved how clean the site was when we got there! The neighbors were super friendly and helpful as they showed us around the park that the campsite is in. Told us there was a bear that was seen last week but we never saw it. Would definitely come back!

we loved our stay at high ridge! it was very private, but among a community of many other camping and cabin sites so you didn’t feel isolated. the instructions given were super clear and easy to follow to get to the site. the nature was gorgeous, there’s lots of roads/trails to walk and many mushrooms to spot, and make sure to spend some time by the river (if not, you’ll be able to at least fall asleep to the sound of it). there is a port-a-potty and proper bathroom, however they are not suuuper close to the site. the port-a-potty was about a 5 minute walk from the site, and the other washroom had to be driven to. the site also had a garbage can, wood pile, and hose available for use. overall, we had a wonderful, peaceful stay and would definitely camp here again!

Big clearing with soft ground, great for tent camping. Only stayed one night and got in at 11pm and left by 6am. Lesson learned was that following the coordinates on Google Maps led me down a pot hole filled gravel road to a yellow gate. I'm assuming this is the backside of the campground, but it is not an entrance. Pay close attention to the map that Britney provides and don't just follow Google Maps. You should be on a paved road till you get to the entrance. There is also no service at the campground, so make sure to save the map and directions to your phone before arriving.
Overall great experience. Britney responded quickly and effectively. She was very accommodating for my last minute booking.
Campsite was about an hour from Maple Pass Loop in North Cascades NP. It was very secure with a guard gate that required a key card to access the grounds. Campsite was close to a river and it's so peaceful falling asleep to the sound of the water.
Highly recommend and would stay here again!

First of all, the host was SUPER responsive to my questions and very prompt and accommodating.
Finding the space was a little harder than I liked in the dark. The map was correct, just slightly wrong street name. The lot size is fairly large and I had no problem pulling into it and backing out with my little A-Frame RV. Once 10 PM arrived, it was very peaceful and quiet, even though there were people next door.
This was a last minute booking and was fast and easy to book.

It was a beautiful spot but the directions for the porta potty and bathroom were incorrect and we drove around in the dark for 20 minutes trying to find the bathroom. Both are quite far from the campsite. I hope the host will update with clear, and more helpful instructions.
