To access the main restrooms, take a right off of Bernhard Bridge at the 4 way intersection as you are leaving the park, the restrooms will be on your left hand side. The park is not lit well so please bring a flash light with you.

One of the most amazing stays I have had! We got there right at the season change of fall into winter when all of the trees were yellow and red while there was snow on the mountains near by! The site was tucked into a gaited community of other sites with working heated bathrooms near by.

Overall it’s a good spot. It’s pretty flat, easy to pitch tents. Also pretty large, we fit three full sized trucks and four tents no problem. Forest is beautiful, and the porta potty wasn’t very far. The firepit looks like it would be good when there isn’t a burn ban. Host was great, gave us extended time. The only thing that takes a star off is some details that weren’t super clear in the listing that should be. The name High Ridge is no joke, there is a sheer drop on one side of the camp area. This is not family friendly because of that, at least for kids younger than 10. The site also appears more isolated on the listing photos than it is in person. You can see the neighboring sites easily and will hear them and their generators. Value is right for the cost, just know the draw backs before you go.

Wooded site with lots of room

This is a nice wooded site, with lots of space. Not all of it is level, and the most level spot is closest to the neighbor, but the views off the opposite way are all trees, you can't see other neighbors. It would be a great pit stop if doing an early morning hike in the North Cascades for sure. It is in a neighborhood that feels like a mix of houses, campers, and shacks, so you feel like you are away but not in a campground. The river is not really walkable. There is a portapotty with 120 steps (maybe newly added since one of the last reviews I read). There is only a fire pit and a trash can at the site. No table or any other feature. You definitely hear various things like any campground, from generators to other people, but we also heard construction/chainsaws of people working. We were able to back our 17 foot trailer in without trouble, however a longer trailer might have a hard time making the 90 degree driveway angle since there is not a driveway across the road to pull into. It was nice and level on the far side of the site.

Family getaway!

It is in a large campground of individually owned lots but the site felt private. It’s a large site which we needed for camping with a large group of our teenage kids. It’s near the public, portable toilet. One side of the lot is flat and ideal for tents while the other has less ideal but still usable spaces. We completely enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely recommend it.

We had an absolutely stunning stay at High Ridge Retreat! The instructions to get to the campsite were very clear and easy to follow. The site itself is incredibly spacious. We had two tents, a screen tent, and our truck set up, and there was still plenty of room to spare. We appreciated having a garbage can right at our site you do have to take your trash to the dumpster and we were pleased that the area was quiet—we didn’t hear any generators at all, except for about 30 minutes in the morning. For facilities, there is a porta-potty located about 100–200 feet away, though keep in mind it is down a fairly steep road. Additionally, there is a great little park area near the river that features swings and picnic tables, as well as flushing toilets and working sinks, which was a nice bonus. We highly recommend this spot and would definitely stay here again!

Now this is no shade to the host at all as they were super sweet and helpful, I just dont think the site was worth the $70 we spent. It didnt look like the pictures and there were overgrown weeds everywhere. Just not any upkeep on the site. Even the sign was fading away which made it more difficult to read.

Another great stay!

This is my second time tent camping at High Ridge Retreat, and another really nice experience. The property is secluded enough to be peaceful, but also populated enough to feel safe for a solo tent camper since it’s nestled in an off-grid community. The location is a very convenient jumping-off point to North Cascades National Park and convenient to amenities in Marblemount. Another great stay!

The lot is only surrounded by 1 neighbor so it feels very secluded and private despite being in a campground. Porta potty is a very short walk. Perfect if you’re driving East to West across North Cascades NP. Alexandra is very prompt with responses if you need anything.

The instructions were a little confusing but once we got there we had a nice time. It's close to a lot of different trails and water access points in the area. The site is mostly shaded which is great for this week's heat wave. The porta potty was close by and it was nice and clean. It would be great if they had more than one card to get in and out of the gate. If you have more than 1 vehicle, you have to show up and leave at the same time.

Caution...

19 ft campervan

Imagine: a tiny spot without bench nor picnic table in a gated community. Facilities are far away, the neighbors lulls you to sleep and wake you up with their electric generators. This could be a nice space, however this wasn't the case when we spent the night at Alexandra's hipcamp. We got in touch with host to find a fair solution but did not receive a satisfactory answer.

Alexandrea was a great host! She was very accommodating to our changing plans and number of guests. We enjoyed the location of the camp site and found it very accessible and clean. The community that the campsite is in was fun to be a part of! The porta potty was right down the road from us (a 1 minute walk) and well maintained. Access to the campsite was simple and the directions for entry from Alexandrea were easily understandable. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will surely be back!

We had great difficulty finding a campground reservations within reach of the North Cascades NP. We looked for an alternatives and found this spot. The host was responsive and directions were clear (and you do need specific directions, not google maps). The site doesn’t offer anything for kids and has very steep sides. It’s basically an empty lot amongst a bunch of other tiny homes and cabins tucked into the hill. We were able to get our trailer around some tight corners (21 foot pop-up) but I would not recommend anything larger. The lot was definitely big enough for our camper and truck. There is a fire pit and trash can on the lot but you gotta pack out your trash. The biggest downside was the toilet situation. There is a portopotty a 100 yards away down a steep hill. This one toilet must service a lot of people as it was nearly filled to the brim during our stay. Also there are an abundance of mosquitoes and these tiny biting black flies so bring plenty of bug repellent. I am glad we got a spot and it worked for our needs. If you don’t have kids and you plan to spend most of your time away from camp this is a good fit.

This spot was just what we were looking for! The almost fully shaded spot was appreciated during 80° heat. About a 45 min drive from Diablo Lake it made a good jumping off point to the rest of the North Cascades.

Such a cute, quiet community and a clean place to set up our little trailer. We could see the neighbors houses around us but it was very quiet and anyone passing by was very friendly. The sound of the river was lovely, Our directions took us to the back gate accidentally, so make sure you come in off of Cascade River Rd. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

I loved this spot! It’s private but nestled in a community, so it feels both secluded and safe. It did take us a while to find the community at large (cell service / GPS is spotty and took us to the back of the community) but once we were in through the gate, the written instructions on how to find the actual campsite were very clear. The site was quiet, peaceful, and perfect for setting up a tent. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway close to North Cascades National Park.

We loved camping here, it was peaceful and we loved how clean the site was when we got there! The neighbors were super friendly and helpful as they showed us around the park that the campsite is in. Told us there was a bear that was seen last week but we never saw it. Would definitely come back!

we loved our stay at high ridge! it was very private, but among a community of many other camping and cabin sites so you didn’t feel isolated. the instructions given were super clear and easy to follow to get to the site. the nature was gorgeous, there’s lots of roads/trails to walk and many mushrooms to spot, and make sure to spend some time by the river (if not, you’ll be able to at least fall asleep to the sound of it). there is a port-a-potty and proper bathroom, however they are not suuuper close to the site. the port-a-potty was about a 5 minute walk from the site, and the other washroom had to be driven to. the site also had a garbage can, wood pile, and hose available for use. overall, we had a wonderful, peaceful stay and would definitely camp here again!

Big clearing with soft ground, great for tent camping. Only stayed one night and got in at 11pm and left by 6am. Lesson learned was that following the coordinates on Google Maps led me down a pot hole filled gravel road to a yellow gate. I'm assuming this is the backside of the campground, but it is not an entrance. Pay close attention to the map that Britney provides and don't just follow Google Maps. You should be on a paved road till you get to the entrance. There is also no service at the campground, so make sure to save the map and directions to your phone before arriving. Overall great experience. Britney responded quickly and effectively. She was very accommodating for my last minute booking. Campsite was about an hour from Maple Pass Loop in North Cascades NP. It was very secure with a guard gate that required a key card to access the grounds. Campsite was close to a river and it's so peaceful falling asleep to the sound of the water. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

Good sized lot in private community

First of all, the host was SUPER responsive to my questions and very prompt and accommodating. Finding the space was a little harder than I liked in the dark. The map was correct, just slightly wrong street name. The lot size is fairly large and I had no problem pulling into it and backing out with my little A-Frame RV. Once 10 PM arrived, it was very peaceful and quiet, even though there were people next door. This was a last minute booking and was fast and easy to book.

It was a beautiful spot but the directions for the porta potty and bathroom were incorrect and we drove around in the dark for 20 minutes trying to find the bathroom. Both are quite far from the campsite. I hope the host will update with clear, and more helpful instructions.

We loved staying here! The location is secluded and extremely well maintained. The river is close to the campsite and the driving directions were easy to follow. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be staying here again!
