Cozy For 2 On The River.
We had such a peaceful and memorable stay here. The host was beyond kind and accommodating—truly made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The riverfront view was absolutely beautiful, and the walk down to the water felt like something out of a storybook. We spent our evenings by the fire, listening to the frogs and all the nighttime nature sounds—it was honestly magical. The stars at night were unreal, and the whole place just had this quiet, calming energy that was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

This was the best camping trip I’ve had in a while. We had a little nook and a front row seat to the river. Firepit was great, they had extra wood on site. Small uphill walk to the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever seen yall!! One potential downfall is this particular site is right at the mouth of the path to the river so you’ll be saying hello to passing neighbors, but I didn’t mind at all. Hardly any bugs which was crazy to me. If u go to the Irish pub ask for prices cause it’s unsuspectingly expensive. General store 15min down the road is also the best ever. We didn’t swim cause it wasn’t warm enough but lots of paddle boarders. This spot is great for two people, kids would be risky as the drop off to the river is steep. Thanks Mary! We’ll be back :)

The site was quiet, well kept and met every expectation that I had. The river was amazing and the suggested site change by Mary put us in the perfect spot. The site services were well maintained. I would strongly recommend this site to anyone looking for some peace and quiet. Thank you Mary for your great hospitality.

Our group enjoyed the soulful nature views and exploration of the waterway on our SUPs. We saw a river otter, nutria, bald eagles, hawks, kingfishers, a frog, trout, snakes, and more!
The quiet site was as expected in the hipcamp listing. We stayed in a clean, shaded, yurt-shaped tent. There were some nice asthetic touches like solar lighting.
The portable toilet was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced.
Our host, Mary, was responsive and graciously gave us an opportunity to cancel when other campers signed up on her site nearby. I’m glad we did not!

I really enjoyed my stay,I had a 3 day job near Mary's property and rented the tent/yurt rather than a local motel.For my stay it was quiet(only one other camper) The yurt was spacious and clean,I cooked outside on a provided table.Across the road was the river and fire pits.Was nice setting there listening to the river,birds,frogs etc. and reading The county road was not a noise issue at all.Good trail to a gravel beach.My only regret was not bringing my flyrod.You could see the fish!Mary was very accommodating and booking easy.I definitely will stay again.

This property was absolutley amazing, most of the time it was just us.
Coming back to see some of the reviews is a bit surprising.
Campsites are on 1 side of the road. You have the blue (not abandoned, just getting work) house on the hill with the Port-a-Potty. We brought our own portable toilet and used the Port-a-Potty when needed.
The yard below has the Yurt on one side and campsites on the other of the driveway. They are about a motorhome length apart, I don't think I'd take an RV there but it would fit. We brought our own small table so we could cook near our tent. Across the road is the common area with the firepits and the picnic tables. Though being a common-area you can see which table/firepit are designated for the camp sites. There is one singular campsite on the river side, inside a cute little cove for small tent camping only, and the only spot available for a vehicle to park just outside the cove. The Cozy for 2 (campsite by the river) is next to the walking trail near the river so just be aware of that.
As with any place you have to be mindful of where you walk, there are dropoffs and softspots "See hay, stay away". There is a country road but minimal traffic and sometimes farm equipment, not a biggie. Just pay attention to your animals and children.
The river is beautiful! Be mindful of the trail down but wonderful place to swim, set your chair down riverside and enjoy.
Really enjoyed a much needed vacation and reading lots of books with the river view!

Good basic camp site next to a river. There were some ducks noisily playing in the water during the night but that was fine. Beautiful area. Mary was very on top of messages and sent a lot of good extra information.

Yurt is only about 50 feet from a county road; not busy but sometimes large noisy farming machinery drove by which was a bit jarring. Yurt itself was great! Super clean and huge. Table and chairs inside added to the comfort. Brought our own table to cook on just outside, then we'd take our plates to the picnic table across the street to enjoy the river view. Unless you're in the yurt, there is zero privacy from the other tent site across the yard. Not great for our reactive dogs. Had to park our car just-so to block the view. They also played music all night which was a bummer. Portapotty was a short walk up the hilly driveway next to the abandoned house and was brand new during our weekend stay. Shared between maybe 8 other people wasn't too bad. Trail to river was a bit difficult, but river was amazing! Shallow wading and deeper swimming holes. Dogs loved it. Tons of cool birds like bald eagles, killdeer, kingfisher, Swainson's Thrush. When I first booked, there was only 1 other tent site on the property. Bummed to see 2 more were added, but thankfully one cancelled last minute, otherwise it would have been too crowded. Despite the weird layout and the noisy/visible campers, we actually had a memorable stay, mainly enjoying time on the river. I would consider re-booking for a mid-week stay when it's quieter, or have our own friends book the other sites, but ONLY IF the river access remains the same. (We did not encounter neighbors claiming private property like others did)

The river is absolutely beautiful with wide swaths of beach and a deep swimming hole, a great place for children to play. We were told it was private property by some locals but they seemed friendly and we were not sure, nonetheless we enjoyed our day at the water! There is a street to cross to get to firepit/picnic table so it’s not great for toddlers or parent anxiety but all other campers were super friendly and respectful and we had a good weekend here. Stores are 20+ minutes away so stock up before you arrive!

A little funky being on the road, but only two cars drove by all evening and none at night. Other campers are close by but were friendly and courteous. Swimming hole/river is awesome. View is gorgeous. Yurt is A+.

Mary's property was lovely and a good size, but there were some issues with us being told by the host that we could enjoy the river, but the following day some locals came up to some fellow campers that were enjoying the river and said that we had to pack up our stuff and leave. I don't know if river access is indeed for all to enjoy or if there is some misunderstanding?
There were also two additional spots created after we booked so there ended up being a lot more campers there than expected, but it worked out well since they also had kids and were very friendly.

The site was beautiful. I wish we could have camped on the side of the road where the river was, rather than where the abandoned house was. Logistically, it didn't make sense to have the campfire and picnic tables away from our tents and cars, especially with young kids wanting to cross the street. There were other groups on the site, and with only one honey bucket, it was a bit problematic at times, waiting for our turn. Being near the riverbed was nice; seeing fish swim around, hearing the frogs at dusk, and all the birds felt magical. The river was the perfect depth for small kids and staying cool.

The photos of the river are beautiful—but unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end. What’s advertised as a “campsite” is actually the front yard of a rundown house right off the road. The house itself looked abandoned, and the picnic tables and fire pits were across the street, not near the tents.
The host seemed overwhelmed and gave us a rushed tour pointing out sinkholes, the lone port-a-potty, and casually warned us to keep kids from falling off the edge into the river. During our stay, multiple groups were booked at the same time, and we ended up sharing the space with about 20 people. One honey bucket at the top of a hill was not nearly enough for that many guests.
Most disappointing of all, we were told the river was private property and that we weren’t supposed to access it (unsure if this is true)—despite it being the main draw in the listing.
Overall, the experience felt misleading, overcrowded, and poorly managed. Would not recommend.

The space we stayed in was majestic. Mary was there adding some finishing touches when we arrived and she was so accommodating and helpful. She went above and beyond. The view of the swimming hole and beach was incredible. Waking up to it was one of my favorite parts. We counted at least 13 different birds we saw, including a bald eagle we watched for almost an hour. I have already been planning to go back. Highly recommend this spot.

Mary was very kind and hospitable. She let me keep my reservation deapite it somehow going over her 24 hour notice polocy, set up a bathroom and firepit for me, and even helped me set up my campsite. Super sweet spot and really a steal if you're traveling long distances
