The property is 20 acres surrounded by the Lummi First Nations Reservation. It is near the ocean however beach access is for tribal members only. Please respect this. There are some trails on the property, more being developed. The area is on the west side of Bellingham Bay and within 15 min scenic drive to Bellingham. The area is also close to the Lummi Island Ferry which is a great day trip. Also a gateway to the Mount Baker Wilderness Area, so much to see! BONUS - this area is a hotspot for Sasquatch (Bigfoot) sightings. There has even been a sighting on this property, in addition to several having heard a sasquatch call/scream. There are others living on the property in a community setting, please be respectful of their privacy. They live in renovated school buses. Property is off-grid. Absolutely no electricity here, or wi-fi. Cell service is poor except for AT&T. Water is very good quality but not available at all times. When water runs out the generator needs to be ran to fill the tanks (typically done by someone living there). There is a porta potty along the side of the road as you enter, it is serviced weekly.

This site is an elevated platform ~ 30 ft up the spirit tree (ancient cedar) as well as 6 nearby cozy campsites. You can rent the whole site for an event or wedding. The platform is 16" dia (w/ tree through the middle). Big enough for you to setup your small tent and a few lawn chairs. Or even an amazing elevated spot to say wedding vows. Nearby is a communal fire pit. There are lots of owls and birds in the area. And there has even been legitimate Sasquatch sightings. This is a sacred site. There is also a sauna bully in a horse trailer with hot bath / showers and a community kitchen bus. There is a well service porta potty available on the driveway on the way in, and there is a spigot with good water and firewood available for purchase. Down at the end of the driveway there is a large gravel parking area and a sign that says Spirit Tree. Follow that trail and it will lead to several Camp spots (mainly on the right) and and at the Spirit tree. Please only have fires in the fire fit near the tree. No fire on platform!

These sites are walk-in sites, they are large enough for 2 tents and are in pristine, private woods. There is an ancient cedar tree that we call the spirit tree, nearby is a communal fire pit. Everyone is super friendly and willing to go out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The tree is super cool and everything is super accessible. Host is super helpful and made sure everything went smoothly.

this site was so fun. very secluded but well-marked paths and campsites. my friends and i intended to tent camp in a normal site, but i messaged the owner about the spirit tree platform and he let us move our reservation. all of our first times sleeping in a tree and it did not disappoint 😁. we will definitely be coming back!!!!

1958 Kenworth Bus In the woods
This was an awesome experience for my kiddo and I! It was our first time camping just the two of us and the perfect spot. There were dogs, water, a propane stove, wood stove, and propane fridge! Thimbleberry and salmon berries all over the place. And really nice land to walk around and enjoy! Plus we were able to easily access other parks and and activities in the area. Will definitely return!

As my first time camping for more than just a night, this place was absolutely incredible. I traveled from Oklahoma where it is hot and gross outside in June, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but the greenery around you is an experience alone. The only bug that could really "hurt" someone that we saw were mosquitoes. Not too many, and bug spray helped a lot. Travis and Kenzie were awesome to talk to and helped me with literally everything I needed. I was going to make tacos, but the lack of Mexican ingredients around the area was rough, so we had stew instead. My friends and I have pretty much decided to make this a yearly trip. The weather was gorgeous, right by the water, within decent range of stores and super close to Lummi Island. The Bellingham Farmers Market was so much fun and every other week, they have the Dockside Market which I'm sad I missed. I was told its really awesome too. 10/10 we absolutely all recommend Spirit Tree. Seriously one of the coolest, more serene experiences I have ever had. I CANNOT wait for next year. I'll be so prepared to make tacos this time. Thank you guys for being such amazing hosts. This vacation meant the world to me, and the campsite delivered everything I wanted and more.

Most camps are private and nestled in trees full of birdsong. It was a peaceful escape, a short walk from the car and facilities. I'd stay again.

The unique naming of the spirit tree immediately caught my attention, and I am pleased with my campsite booking. The location offers a truly serene and peaceful atmosphere. Friday night provided a delightful natural symphony of owls and birds. The host was exceptionally responsive and attentive, promptly addressing all my inquiries.
