Steve's property was exactly what we wanted for our camping experience! We stayed at the big tree site. It was beautiful, serene, and restful. There were no other guests so we felt like we had the place to ourselves! We enjoyed the cattle and the quiet! The site had a picnic table, fire pit, and wood, which was a nice touch. We hope to stay here again soon! We highly recommend this spot!

I had a great time camping at Steve's place. The area was nice and clean. I camped underneath the large tree which give me a lot of shade and from the elements. There's a small town near by where you can get food and what not. Steve gave great advice on what to see near by. Only had issue I had was a train going though near by in the middle of the night blaring its horn. Not much you can do about that.

Steve is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He was very generous and made sure I had everything I needed. The land was absolutely gorgeous! Steve has a couple of spots fenced off from the cattle so you're not stepping in cow poop all the time. I was in the spot near the pond. Not a lot of bugs, or any other critters for that matter, with the exception of the cattle. Steve provides firewood and a picnic table for you and the rest is your magic to make. I came in a 30ft travel trailer and it fit no problem. It's also a pull-through site which is super convenient. Because of the cattle, there is an electric fence perimeter that Steve will have to open for you. He responds super quick to your messages, so if you are in a rush for some reason he'll be right there. I can't give Steve enough praise, I will be bringing the entire family next time.

Steve is an excellent host!! I camped under the trees on the east side of the property. Was a perfect spot to watch the sunset, simple, quiet and just want my pup and I were looking for!! We can't wait to visit again and bring our friends.

If you’re looking for a private, peaceful spot to pitch a tent in a lovely pastoral setting, Diamond N’ Ranch may be the perfect place for you.
Upon our arrival, our kind host, Steve, welcomed my husband and I to the property and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There were many Black Angus cows grazing in the open space of the property, and we were happy to have Steve teach us a little about raising cattle and the property in general. Steve also shared some local knowledge on points of interest in the surrounding area.
During our stay at Diamond N’ Ranch, My husband and I reposed in the quiet seclusion offered at the pond site. The site was very well-maintained, with a gravel road/ grassy path leading up to the it. Upon reaching the campsite, we had access to a picnic table and beautiful views of the property. There was also a fire pit, and Steve thoughtfully provided firewood for us to enjoy a campfire. Thank you!
There are several beautiful state parks and facilities in the area which make this site a great choice for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts in general. There is also a trail on this property that leads down to a swimming hole, if you prefer to stay close by.
Should your aim be to take a siesta from the outside world, this Hipcamp is a great choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Diamond N’ Ranch. Thank you, Steve, for your fantastic hospitality. It was a pleasure meeting you!

A relaxing base camp for adventures

Our family loved the experience of staying on Steve’s beautiful land. The site was easy to access, and quiet. The occasional bellows and grunts from the small herd of cows added to the ambiance. When you arrive you immediately feel the pace of life slow and your spirit soothed by nature around you.
The charming town nearby has several good places to eat and shop and it was fun to ride our bicycles there on quiet roads.
It’s a short excursion to ocean beaches. There’s a lot more to explore on the area and this is a great jumping off point for that. We’ll be back!

We tent camped at Diamond N Ranch, Big Tree Campsite for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. The entire experience was absolutely lovely! Steve was friendly, kind and struck the perfect balance between being available and giving us space. He guided us to our camping site under the beautiful and giant Big Leaf Maple and told us a bit about his ranch. Later we wandered over to the cattle and he spent time with us, answering our many questions about cattle while we fed treats to them. Back at the site, we spent plenty of time relaxing under the giant tree’s umbrella, gazing at the rolling hills and distant trees, and breathing deeply.
Both evenings, a breeze arrived in the late afternoon which was refreshing. The first night it rained, and it was so peaceful listening to the patter of rain on the leaves and drips on the tent while staying snug and dry inside. In the morning we woke to a symphony of bird songs, lots of happy warbling – it was so nice. A sweet smell of dry grass floated in the air, there was an occasional and brief smell of cattle but in a distant way that completed the experience, most of the time it smelled like later summer grass. Our 9-year-old loved feeding treats to the cattle, climbing the tree, and flying our kite. Our dog loved stretching her legs and my husband and I loved the gently rolling hills, sweets breeze, scents, and how peaceful and calm it was. I haven’t been this relaxed in a long time. Book it – you won’t regret it.

The property is lovely...serene and peaceful. Just what we were looking for. We couldn't have asked for a more gracious host. Steve was welcoming and hospital, several times texting to see if we needed anything. Otherwise giving us our space. Sites are clean and spacious.
It would be fun to stay there again with our kids and grandkids.

Nice quite camp spot with a unique view. My son enjoyed the cows and Steve was kind and brought extra treats for him to hand out. Steve is very attentive host with knowledge of the area if you are needing to find something to do.

This place is so great! As others’ have said, Steve is the best host you’ll find. Super kind and generous and his cows seem very happy. The spot is huge and all to yourself. Shade and sun, you choose. WiFi worked well here which is great to have for trip planning. Overall, this beats a campground any day and will make your trip that much more special. Book it! You won’t regret it. We hope to go back!

Steve and his land are wonderful, easily accessible from a major road about 45 mins from Olympia and 15 mins from Aberdeen. That being said there were two caveats that people should know before booking.
When we booked, we didn't know was that to get in and out of the campsite, you have to go through 3 gates, and through a pasture of cows to get to the site. Meaning you cant enter or exit the site without texting or alerting Steve to help you leave. Our camping group is full of early risers and we had to leave at 6.30 am to go hiking, meaning having to wake up Steve, etc. The cows are very cute and you can feed them, but just be warned that once you're at the site its not easy to come and go.
Also it was our mistake camping in August, but this late in the year the mosquitos are out in hordes, that coupled with the burn-ban in effect meant that we had to spend most of the time at the site in our tents to avoid being eaten alive. Likely not an issue other times of year but for us was a bit of a shame.
That being said, Steve is a very gracious host, and the campsite itself is very lovely.

Our host Steve had great communication before and during our stay. He provided ample wood for the fire pit along with information about the area. There is plenty of room for our 40 ft rig, tow vehicle and even tents in the large grass area with trees that provided both shade and enhanced the environment of the site. The setting is so beautiful and serene. My husband wished he had brought his hammock!! Easy access to Hwy 12 and nearby points of interests such as lakes , hiking and Ocean Shores is less than an hour away. We were given snacks to feed the cattle which was very cool and added more memories to our stay. We did not experience any issues with bugs (e.g. mosquitoes, ants, flies). Our first stay here and we will definitely come back when we can.

What an accommodating host, with a relaxing and fun place to camp. We had the opportunity to rest and relax beneath an amazing God produced tree. Incredible! My girls climbed it, observed the cows from it, and we received shade from the sun, and protection from the drizzle.
The working cattle ranch prodded our inner love for animals as we watched them graze, calves play, and even fed them some treats.
We also enjoyed an afternoon at the river.
Definitely recommend this location!

The host Steve was friendly and met us when we arrived and led us back to the pond through some live wire gates. The site is clean and surrounded by trees with a nice fire pit. There are cows on the property but no cow pies in the site and rarely smelt them. The site is surrounded by a live wire that the dog ran into once and our toddler also grabbed once…but only once ha ha so be aware of that. When we stayed it was a little windy but didn’t affect our stay. Next time I’d bring kites. Sound of frogs in the pond was nice to hear at night. When we left Steve offered to let the kids feed some treats to the cows which was a lot of fun. We’ll stay here again.

Steve has created a private, pastoral campsite great for RVers. We stayed by the pond and it was so fun to hear the cows lowing and frogs croaking. The calves were having a good time playing top of the mountain near our site. His place made a great jumping off point to visit the Wynoochee Dam and park. Highly recommend stopping at his place for a spell.

Great host and campsite! Our rig is over 60 feet with the tow and we had room for other rigs. Very quiet. Lots of climbing trees for the boys. Dry firewood at the site. Frogs at night.

Camping at the Diamond N Ranch was exactly what our family hopes for in a camping experience. The site itself was spacious and peaceful. Our children loved playing in the natural environment. They were excited to find frogs and snakes and a variety of birds. We all enjoyed watching the cows and calves in the pasture. The sunsets were beautiful, the stars were abundant, and the frogs sang us to sleep. Our host was helpful and welcoming and provided us with lots of firewood. The ocean and great hiking opportunities are nearby. We wished we had stayed longer and can't wait to return.

Thiis cow-and-calf operation is neat as a pin. The animals graze at the far end of the property, and the campsight is clean, mud free, and private. Level, too. Ammenities include a pucnic table, fire pit, and dry wood. Montesano, just a couple of minutes away, is a neat old town with a great park, and the ocean beaches are only 40-minutes away. Host asked several times via text is we had everything we needed. Quiet, secluded getaway that's not so far away!

Our camp site was a beautiful site between a large maple tree and a duck pond. Our 2WD van got a little stuck in the wet ground on the way in; our host Steve was nice enough to pull it out of the low spot with his tractor. The other camp site looks ideal for a tent.

Steve was a great host. He met us as we showed up and let me fill my water tank and then led us to our site. This is a beautiful and amazing place for getting away from everything. It was raining while we were there, but did have one nice afternoon to get out and explore. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back.

Just an overall great experience. You’ll stay in the pasture area but it’s not occupied or had been occupied by cattle, so you don’t need to watch your step. I was worried about a boggy muddy area but it was a perfect site. Even when we were caught in a torrential rain storm the site remained exceptional. Steve was so wonderful and let us feed the his cows a few times. It’s a little weird at first seeing these massive animals approach, but you soon see their different personalities and quarks come out. Back at the site, I had even mentioned it to our friends you don’t even smell that powerful cow smell like when you drive through the country side when you’ll come across that striking odor. Steve is just kind and friendly to talk with. It was a great stay.

Steve's property is a wonderful place to get outside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Steve was an amazing host with just the right amount of communication and responsiveness while letting us enjoy the peacefulness of his property. Our site was level, private and beyond spacious. Our three kids had a fantastic time exploring and taking in the sights and sounds of the cattle ranch. We took a couple of quick day trips to Lake Sylvia and Wynoochee Lake (per Steve’s great recommendation), we recommend checking both out if time allows. We can’t wait to come back and would recommend Diamond N Ranch to anyone looking for a great Hip Camp experience.

What a quiet and relaxing stay! Steve met us when we arrived, led us to the back of his property to our site, and then left us to settle in. His place is conveniently located just of the highway and very easy to find by the directions. Great place to use as a base camp to explore Westport, Ocean Shores, and Lake Sylvia State Park. Looking forward to our next stay!

Steve was a great host! We got a warm welcome as we arrived at the ranch and a personal escort to a private area for our Airstream (23') by the pond. It was a perfect place for rest and relaxation after months of staying at home, and just a short drive to the coast! We'll be back to see the cows again!

Steve’s site was beautifully quiet and restful. Perfect placement of the picnic table under the big tree and plentiful easy burning firewood. Steve was also very understanding in an emergency situation that came up with our pet. I highly recommend this site (as long as you have your own toileting set up—but he clearly states that in the listing).
