This is a 24 acre farm with about 3,500' of frontage on the Entiat River. The land's history has included use as pasture, orchards, and flower farm. It's currently identified as a USDA type silvopasture farm. The priority crop is growing native fir trees that will be harvested in 60+ years as lumber / telephone poles. During this time, the land will be grazed by a variety of livestock balanced to keep fields and animals healthy and productive. The current owners purchased the farm fall of 2023 from a family estate that owned it since the 1970s. It is considered a legacy 25+ year project to bring it back into full production. Currently, the land is undergoing Firewise work to clear it of fallen and dead trees along with undergrowth. Knowing fires sweep this canyon regularly, the goal is to minimize fuel and support the chance old growth trees will survive and provide maximum summer shade for returning salmon. During the 2026 grazing season, the NE pasture of 5 acres along the river has 9 Katahdin Sheep. In Spring 2026, 2 bison were added into the SE pasture of 7 acres that climbs the mountain along the west border. Additional bison plan to be added later in the year along with a herd of larger meat type goats. The current Caretaker has identified over 100 native species on the property of all types. These include eagles, osprey, red tail hawks, killdeer, owls, blue jays, chickadees, beaver, martin, American Dippers, blue herons, waterfowl, bats, mushrooms, deer, elk, cougar, bear, coyotes, bobcats, and a variety of other interesting birds and bugs abound. The entire farm is very private with very little traffic if any. You may see the caretaker out and about with a helper, but that’s about it. Any of the sites that you select will typically be very private unless you pick one around the tractor shop.Sites will vary depending on season and farm activities. Generally a camper will have several to choose from. We generally only allow one camp group per night. The farms equipment shop has a flush toilet. The kitchen, shower, laundry, and refrigerator are reserved for farm workers, but may be available to campers, but don’t plan on it. The farm has about 3,500' of river front with a biking and walking trail along most of it. To the west are additional connecting dirt roads in all directions. High above to the west is 9,000' + Glacier Peak Wilderness. There are bison on this farm. If your pet gets in the pasture, they may kill it if they feel threatened, or are in a mood to play. They are both enjoyable to watch, but all guests must be very respectful and keep pets on leash and away from bison. Otherwise, the bison may come through the fence to get to a pet. Note the bison are used to the farm dogs in our area, but may react very different to new dogs or barking dogs. Sites on the farm are some of the most private along the river. You will very likely have your own private beach if that’s what you want. They’re also a lot of nice sunny rocks and view points to enjoy. We typically have at least one hippie hot tub available to use. It is a freshwater 1 - 2 person tub that is drained and refilled after each use. The gray water helps water pastures. The current Crescent Farm Caretaker has experience as an outdoor guide, teacher, and overlander. He, or a designee, will be your primary contact. He typically is doing an early morning and sometimes a late evening perimeter walk if you’re interested in joining. You will need to visit with the caretaker if you plan to go near the Bison. Guests are not allowed in the Bison pastures, but may walk around the pasture or sit and observe them. They also like to listen to music if you happen to play musical instrument. If interested, the farm may have opportunities to barter self selected work to earn credits for future camp nights. If those involved find the situation a good fit, invites to camp on the farm while the regular caretaker is not available will be considered. These may range from 1 to 90 nights during all seasons.
