The farm is a beautiful and welcoming space. The camper was just what we needed, the shower was amazing, and we really enjoyed being able to walk the area and see the garden and animals during our short stay. We would definitely stay again.

Pearl

We stayed in Vintage trailer Pearl, which was ok, but it would have been good to be told in advance 'no electrical, no water' in the trailer what the wi-fi was and that there was bedding in the lodging; but we slept well enough and were lucky enough to have brought a flashlight, and the the resources, comfort and the organization of the kitchen, library, shower, was great, and mostly just relaxing in a place where the owners/operators were so amazing knolwedgeable from gardening to sheep to wool to permaculture, and kept the whole 40 acres in beautiful and sustainable upkeep, as natural as possible. We very look very much to coming back and taking the full tour, taking classes and spending more time in such a peaceful, pleasant and creative place.

Kateen was a warm and gracious host. Her space is truly magical-from the fresh flowers and greens to the homemade herbal teas and library of healing books and earth-centered writings. She anticipates her guests every need from community kitchen to bathhouse to massage and meditation spaces. Def. Recommend.

We camped here for one night with a toddler and Kateen made us feel very welcome, pointing out things to watch out for with the 2-year-old as she gave us the tour of the land. The kid had a great time visiting the ducks, setting up the tent at the dedicated sawdust pad, climbing in and out of the game room trailer, and reading books and making tea. It’s very peaceful. You can hear the animals and catch some headlights at night but nothing very distracting. I would love to visit again to really explore the agricultural design, use the foot soak, pick some vegetables… this place has so much to offer. The permaculture and development of communal space is incredibly thoughtful. Thank you Kateen.

Our favorite memory of Washington

Memories were created that we will never forget! We stayed in 4 other homes booked through AirBNB during our Washington trip, but Compass Rose Farms is the standout! Kateen welcomed us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the land. We instantly fell in love with the simple life, abundant flowers, vegetable gardens and all of the little hidden surprises as we wandered the farm. We did the add-on of picking vegetables from the garden for our dinner. We prepared them in the shared kitchen area and thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, organic dinner. The pots, pans and utensils were provided, but you'll need to bring your own butter, spices, etc. The Round House was adorable and decorated in a lovely cottage theme. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and provided a restful night of sleep. When we awoke, we had hot tea that was prepared using herbs off the farm. We took a quiet morning stroll through the woods and garden areas sipping our herbal teas and enjoying the peaceful foggy morning with Mongo (the farm dog) walking beside us. We fell in love with Mongo. He was sweet and well behaved and gave us a sense of security on our walk in the woods. We also enjoyed plucking berries and grapes off the vines for snacks. There was a small gift shop to browse and take home a special souvenir or two. Kateen welcomes you and then leaves you on your own to enjoy everything she offers. When our time there ended, we both hated to end our "Peace Trance".

Sooooooo relaxing

My boyfriend spent the night there. This is his review… “My stay at Compass Rose Farms was sooooo relaxing. I got to see animals and listen to owls and ravens. The Round House was fantastic and Scott and Kateen were so kind. The kitchen was fantastic with all kinds of really cool cooking utensils and oven. Can’t wait to bring my girlfriend back!”

Wonderful unique hipcamp. Loved picking greens and fruits from the garden. The community areas were thoughtfully arranged and the walking trails were great. I was definitely inspired to make good food. Some info that I thought would be useful for others to know: unless you have a van spot, you will be walking your things in (not far, just something to consider). Vintage trailer was adorable and very comfy to stay in. The sites are close together. The tent sites offer most privacy. Can't wait to go back!

Compass Rose is a nice place to hang out. There's a full kitchen available to campers as well as a library, labyrinth, gift shop with farm made products and even a yurt with a massage table in it. If you've got time to enjoy all this, I'd recommend a visit. We were looking for a quick and cheap place to pitch our tent overnight. The spot we got was on bumpy grass that was very wet by morning. When the Hip Camp fees and taxes were included it was $62, which felt pretty steep.

Beautiful farm, kind hosts. We came in late after a 10 hr day driving through 90 degree weather. It was such a relief to have clear directions, communication, and comfy place to pitch our tent. We didn’t take full advantage of the lovely communal kitchen and garden but we will next time!

Heavenly

The Round House was an exquisite, hand-made building and a lovely place to stay. The land at Compass Rose is loved and enriched; there is a labyrinth, forest paths, a showerhouse, clean portajohns, a lovely communal kitchen. We ate fresh berries and greens from the garden and drank herbal teas from plants grown on the land. There is excellent signage that helps you to be clear about how things flow, the owner was kind and available, and the other folks there were all friendly. I'm a local who went as a getaway with a friend for her birthday and I look forward to returning. What a gem!

Beautiful garden with great ameniti

Beautiful grounds with so many plants and lush vegetation. Kitchen was really nice to have for preparing meals. Shower was a great set up and needed after long hikes everyday. As a tea lover, te tea room was super fun. Got to feed a sheep, Miss Casey, even! Mongo and Esa were lovely pups!

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful garden farm. The property offers incredible options, including a cozy yurt (for visiting not sleeping) well-spaced camp sites, and a comfortable semi-permanent tent as well as cute little trailers. The communal kitchen was fantastic and fully equipped for making great meals. As a wonderful bonus, we were welcomed by two incredibly sweet, friendly Pyrenees dogs who made the stay feel extra safe and special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic getaway!

Wow! Magucal place

Such a wonderful place to come back to after adventuring in Olympic national park. So peaceful. Gardens are beautiful, doggies are sweet. Kateen is a wonderful host. So many amenities that we didn’t get to take advantage of but the communal kitchen was great and I loved the outdoor shower.

Loved van camping here . Her gardens are beautiful and the community areas are helpful (hot water for tea and coffee without having to have a stove and pots and pans). They were very helpful when our car window was stuck in the open position offering us plastic and cardboard to fix the window temporarily. And the dogs 😍. It has a very healing vibe. Thanks, all!
