We had a great stay at Carrie’s property! My husband and I stayed for one night here as we passed through to Mt. Rainier. A couple navigation notes: her street is the only one without a signpost (you’ll see 401, 405, and 407 — but not 403) so keep an eye out for that. Once you turn down the private drive, after 75 yards you’ll come to a fork: stick to the left, and go through the gate. Her street address is listed on the right post of the gate, which serves as your confirmation that you’re in the right spot! There are a couple spots to park, including a graded gravel pullout next to the drive. Most of her lot is lumpy (so you’ll want to watch your step so you don’t roll an ankle), and also at a bit of a decent grade, which might make one of the back tables tricky to cook/eat at. The lower/front half is fairly flat and even though.
She has three separate areas set up: she told me this originated from Covid, when she hosted “pod parties”, with a gathering space (table and chairs) for each household while remaining a distance apart. Each also has a fire pit for your use. Not to mention, the main communal area has seven hammocks! There is also a DIY “toilet” available in a small pop-up tent with garbage bags, and plenty of hand/dish washing water. I also discovered there's a motion-activated light strapped to the tree over the pop-up so you'll be able to find your way in the dark! The lights in the communal hammock area also stay on all night.
The campsite shares a fence border with her three goats, which are available for some pets over the fence! Don’t be alarmed if you hear a random noise in the night, it’s probably them kicking at the fence or their mattress. Her property is also surrounded with tall, lush trees so it’s easy to forget there are neighbors nearby. Carrie was super friendly and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We also got plenty of snuggles with her adorable dogs and cats!
All in all, a great stay!
