Tons of space for a large group, and multiple picnic tables/cooking areas for meal prep. The fire pit is large and a great spot for nighttime hangouts.
A flushing toilet and running water for washing hands and dishes is super nice, along with the convenience of a dumpster to avoid dragging trash home.
River access was very easy and provides the main attraction for extracurricular activities. The beach is big enough for large groups.
The group site does not feel secluded or particularly private but similar to camping at most public campgrounds.
Cell coverage (T-Mobile) in the area was decent!

I unfortunately had to cancel my trip due to a family medical emergency and am SO disappointed. I’m familiar with the general area and it’s beautiful. The site pictures and descriptions assured us this was a must-see destination for a family camping adventure! And even though I cancelled very last minute, the host very graciously issued a generous partial refund, very much appreciated! If you have littles who love to play in nature this is a perfect spot! I can’t wait to rebook!

We were a group of 4 families, and we had a blast here. One of the greatest perks was having a playground on site. Easy communication with the host, and you can purchase a propane tank from them to hook it up to a propane fire pit that’s on site.

Perfect Spot for Families!

We booked the entire group campsite for multiple families with young kids, and it was honestly the perfect spot for us. The kids had so much to do—the playground, playing in the sand, exploring the little creek and finding frogs, spotting tons of slugs, and walking the beautiful trails and rope bridge.
The covered fire pit area was especially great since we had some rain, and having the propane fire pit available on site made everything so easy. There’s also a built-in table under the gazebo that was perfect for food prep. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, and having a flushing toilet while camping with a bunch of little kids was a huge plus!
Joe was a fantastic host—so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Everything about the site was incredibly thoughtful and well set up for groups and families.
The one heads-up I’d give future campers: pack earplugs! The neighbors have roosters who are very committed to their 4:30 a.m. wake-up calls. 😂
We absolutely loved our stay and are already talking about coming back!

This was a great spot for my family! We enjoyed the quick access to the river and the bathroom available. We lucked out and had the camp space to ourselves while we were there but seemed like a nice spacious campground. Spot lazy tree had great amenities/level ground for a trailer. Also the host provided a propane fire pit during fire restrictions season.
This is a great campsite with great group space for any large groups needing a place all together! Had really cool river access over a rope bridge that the hosts built themselves! Joe and Laurie were very friendly the whole time we were there, always happy to talk and help any way they can. Has a great covered area for BBQing, group hangout, etc. would highly recommend this campsite! Will be back later this summer for another trip!

Big Bear Cabin
Lorrie thought of everything with this cabin. The little details made our stay remarkable. Her and her husband were very kind and helpful giving us info on the cabin and property when we arrived. The whole family enjoyed this beautiful spot and we hope to make this a yearly trip!
The cabin was beautiful and cozy! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was super convenient, and the hot water shower was fantastic! My daughter and I had a great time sitting around the outdoor fire pit before bed time. We explored along the trails in the woods along the river the next morning. It was so beautiful, my daughter absolutely loved it!

We loved the rant camping in big maple site. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. They let us to enjoy their private beach at the river bank. And I can’t say enough about the beautiful nature of this property. The roaring sound of river is therapeutic. I absolutely recommend this place.
Stayed at the Big Bear Cabin, was nice and cozy, and really clean. Appreciated all the additional amenities. There was a really fun suspension bridge that takes you over a creek from the campsites to the river. My kid absolutely had a blast on the bridge bouncing it up and down. Would definitely recommend staying at a Camp Hideaway!

We loved staying in the cabin. It was cute and clean. We enjoyed exploring the trails and playing in the creek.
Beautiful cabin! Great location next to the kids play area. Play ground area could use some updating! The trails and river access was the best part!
We loved Camp Hideaway! The property was well maintained, the playground access was fantastic for our toddler as its in the site line of all but one campsite, and the river access was perfect for kids! We met Lorrie's partner, Joe, while out exploring the trails and he even scouted the perfect spot for our toddler to play at the river. Our dog loved playing with their pup! Joe was also helpful managing some campers with excessive noise. Absolutely will stay again, and bring friends!

The amazing river access and beautiful trails Lorrie has built really made this place special and running up and down the creek was my kids favorite part. They weren't bored for a second :) Campsites are pretty close but situated with a little privacy, 5 around a central area with playground, campfire, bathroom. Campfire rings at each individual site too, firewood available. The bridge and Sasquatch were favorites too, and we were very close to our hike to Frog Lake. The hosts checked in with us and were very friendly. Thank you for a great stay!

This was a great stay. Not only were the hosts kind but this cabin was adorable, the grounds were beautiful, my pups could be off leash, the sounds of the river AND the best part, the BED WAS SO COMFY! You don't normally find that in a hip-camp cabin. We slept like a baby both nights! We will return
We stayed at the Big Bear cabin in late March. 2 adults and 2 dogs. It was a last minute trip, so we just stayed one night after a hike in the area. It was fun exploring the property and the cabin was comfy, cozy and clean, with is own toilet and shower. We had a campfire in the fire pit, and they have bundles of wood for sale on the property. Cabin has a little kitchenette with a small fridge/freezer and a 2 burner gas stove top. We would have stayed another night if the weather was better. We do hope to come back soon!!

Great experience! Our hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. The river and trails were beautiful. Cabin was exactly as described and very cosy. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Perfect spot for a quick car camping trip. Spent one night and was comfortable, safe, and had clean bathroom access. The host was super easy to communicate with for any issues or questions! This spot made getting to hiking trails in the North Cascade region much easier for us!

We didn't stay. We pulled in, and in the main/central area (not sure if it was a campsite or common area, it was right next to the restroom and playground, right outside of where we parked the car) there was a small group gathered with hammocks set up, and 3 people were wearing MAGA hats. The site we booked wasn't private and was right next to this common space, there was no one else besides this group at the campground, and my husband is clearly an immigrant. We didn't feel comfortable to be alone in a rural area with people who probably do not want him there. I think it would have been fine if we booked one of the sites that were more private (there seemed to be an RV site that was further away from the common/playground area). We ended up going to a dispersed campsite along the Sauk river, which was private and more what we were hoping for.
