This was a great location-close to WWU where we were dropping off our daughter. Safe and quiet. Melissa was a very helpful host. Loved the chicken eggs and feeding Napoleon. Would definitely stay again!

Love staying at Melissa’s property! She does a great job offering just enough amenities/tools to make the trip comfortable, but still keeping things off the grid/camping. Love getting to see the farm animals, and the property in general is just beautiful.

Luckily, we stumbled upon Melissa's Bellingham Base Camp after dropping a friend off at WWU. It truly felt like our "home away from home" - except we were sleeping in the back yard, and didn't have to do the chores : ) Clean, quiet, and the sweet menagerie of farm animals was a welcome distraction from digital devices. Our stay coincided with the first storm of the season, and Melissa was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Enjoyed the views along Chuckanut Drive on our way back home. I imagine we'll be back on our next trip to visit campus, and hope to enjoy some of the local hikes, too!

Bellingham Base Camp on the Farm
Our stay here was so wonderful. The spot was spacious and beautiful - the kids had a blast eating apricots off the tree and visiting the adorable goats and horses. Melissa and her husband were very gracious hosts, letting us use the barn space during an unexpected rainy afternoon/evening and providing farm fresh eggs for our breakfast! The toilet was clean and close by as well. We can't wait to come back!

Site #3 On the Farm
Melissa's farm is the perfect site for a weekend of adventure in Bellingham. It's minutes away from the trails, and not far from town either. The hosts were excellent and there were thoughtful amenities that made camping easier. Would recommend to anyone looking for a campsite in the area, and would definitely come back again.

The Bellingham Base Camp was very special. A wonderful setting with goats, ducks, chickens and horses! Beautiful wooded area surrounding all and many nice touches provided by our hosts. Would definitely recommend!

Melissa was an incredible host and the camping spot ideal for our tent setup. We stayed here as a weekend mountain biking getaway. Melissa offered up great advice on the local trails, suggested in-town entertainment, and even offered additional tarps and ropes to keep us dry during a little downpour.
She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and even ushered in our first experience with bioluminescence at a nearby beach (we didn't know this was a thing).
Definitely planning on staying here again in the near future!

I liked this place so much that I stayed there a second time on my next trip to Bellingham. Melissa has been making upgrades to the camp, so everything looked even nicer than the first time we were there.
The setting is beautiful and the location is really convenient for Bellingham, Larrabee State Park and other area attractions.
Most importantly, the animals are adorable and my 7-year old daughter loved feeding and visiting with them.

This place was amazing! Highly recommend. Our family of 6 had an incredible time. Melissa was so hospitable, clear, and friendly. The camp site itself was awesome and close to everything. Can't wait to go back!

Melissa was an amazing host and had all these cute touches around the site. I would definitely stay here again! Perfect for our little family. We were very close to Bellingham, which was great for eating out and going into town, but we were also secluded from the city noise.

Great camp site for our weekend trip as advertised in the listing. Kids got to enjoy the animals from the farm! Melissa was extremely helpful answering our questions and made sure we had all the things we need offering us up an extra tarp, table and chairs so that we had all we needed for our stay.

Melissa made us all feel very welcome being on her property and enjoying all the tasteful work she’s put into it. All the animals and grounds were a big hit to the kids and added to the personality of the place. We would all highly recommend!

Bellingham Base Camp on the Farm
Farm paradise camping spot. This was our first experience with Hipcamp and we hope all will be as good! The camping spot was large, had a picnic table, shared access to a porta potty, water from a filled tank, drinking water in gallon jugs and shower bags to hang in the trees. The host also set up an outdoor movie for our kids, let the kids feed the goat, and ride bikes behind the barn. Very private and not in view of the house at all. We were the only campers, there are two other sites on the property but it is well spaced.

I was lucky to have the place all to myself & it was so peaceful! Was hoping to do some hiking but it was so relaxing that I ended up staying put for the 2 nights. Melissa was so sweet & very responsive! There is a list of restaurants & the local laundromat on a laminated sheet, a wash station & the cleanest porta-potty I’ve ever seen (or smelled!!). They have goats, a miniature horse, chickens, ducks, a brand new addition - a retired race horse. All the animals are so calm & like to be visited. The goats just love to be scratched! And it would be perfect for a group or family camp trip. There are 2 other sites a couple feet away & a primitive site close by. I like private camping in quiet spaces so I’m very glad to have had the place to myself. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at quite a few campsites through Hipcamp and I can honestly say Melissa's site is one of the best. She was wonderfully accommodating by turning on lights at the campsite when I arrived in the dark and even offered a large tarp for my tent as well as other camping equipment. I had everything I needed but I very much appreciated her offer! It is such a treat to wake up to pygmy goats, ducks and horses. Their homestead is a perfect distance to experience Bellingham yet feel like you are in the country. I have a son that goes to WWU and will absolutely stay at their place many more times when I visit. Could not recommend it enough.

The photos don't do it justice; this place is really beautiful. It's also super close to Fairhaven/Bellingham. The animals, including the mini horse and pygmy goats are awesome. The portapotty was the cleanest I've ever seen. And Melissa is a super hostess. Would totally come back.

Melissa is such a sweet host with a phenomenal spot! Easy access to all the outdoor and in town attractions with the privacy of forest surroundings and quaint appeals of farm life (think of chickens cooing you to sleep and goats greeting the sunrise).

Melissa’s farm is a beautiful place to stay! We were warmly greeted and loved the amazing property, especially the goats and miniature horse. Melissa provided hay for us to feed the farm animals and showed us how to pick cherries from her orchard. It was a magical experience and we will definitely plan a trip back here!

What a sweet spot to stay in! We came to Bellingham to bike, and Melissa’s place was so central to 2 of the trail systems. She has a meadow set up with inviting partylights and comfy adrionik chairs to gaze up at the tall pines! We are a 34 foot fifth wheel, almost too big for her cozy spot, but thankfully my husband is an expert at finagling! I’d just be aware if you’re in a larger camper there’s not an easy turn-around.

What a slice of heaven! We loved staying having base camp as our home on the road while in Bellingham - it’s a great location that feels like you’re deep in the woods.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at site # 3 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple camping experience. The property is beautiful, the animals are friendly, and the space is easy to get to off the highway. We came from Fairhaven, which is only about 10 minutes away.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! Melissa was very responsive and the grounds/facilities were very clean. We arrived late at night to our campsite but Melissa’s lights made finding the site super easy and welcoming. The goats, chickens and mini horse were so cute. I’m going to recommend her farm stay to my friends!

Melissa was a great communicator. Appreciate her honesty when our reserved site needed to be changed.
Good directions. Clean porta potty. We stayed less than 12 hours, but appreciate the chairs and flowers.
