Had an excellent weekend at Ben's. Ben was super welcoming, the site was wonderful, and the add-on amenities were a boon that saved me time, effort, and space in the vehicle. We spent the nights stargazing and most of the day on the water fishing. As we packed up on our final morning we were awed by a bald eagle hunting on the water and calling out. Highly recommend.

Peaceful. The host was very responsive with additions after arriving (rental of a kayak). Very convenient for those who want to stay close to town. Icing on the cake was a bald eagle that made its appearance the last day.

We had a great time here! We tent camped, and added the canoe to fish. I caught 2 bluegills and 1 crappie on a rooster tail. Bass were being a bit picky. Felt a few bites on swim bait, though. The site was nice and quiet, our dog had a great time!

Great spot next to a small lake fed by a small brook/stream. Host, Ben, was very hospitable - the perfect level of interaction (a nice welcome, advice on car/tent location, lay of the land) followed by an occasional drive-by (the spot is adjacent to the drive to his house which is not seen from the campsite).

We had a wonderful stay at Ridge Crest Hollow and Lake! The site was beautiful and peaceful, and we especially enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the serene lake. Our host, Ben, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We also loved the little extras offered—like the farm fresh eggs, which were absolutely delicious. Such a perfect spot to relax and recharge—we can’t wait to come back!

Ben was terrific !! We loved the site it’s very well kept and quiet. Ben will drive by a few times and wave if you’re around. While staying here you definitely get that feeling of solitude. Would stay again !

Beautiful property! The pond backs up right to your campsite. I went fishing in their canoe and caught a bluegill. Campsite is open land, but has natural shade from the surrounding tall trees. I couldn’t have asked for better weather the day I went and ended the night with a campfire. 2WD accessible. Met the host and his son. Very friendly folks. I recommend this campsite and definitely see myself returning in the future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What a great place! Thanks to the host Ben, who was very welcoming and helpful. It was nice to feel so far out in the woods by a large pond/lake yet be so close to Charlottesville. I camped here for my son's graduation from UVA, and I loved getting away from the crowds and chaos every night to this peaceful spot. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants the beauty and peacefulness of nature just outside a vibrant city and in the middle of Wine Country.

Had a great time camping on Ben’s site. He met us when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land. The site is private and quiet. An unexpected bonus is the site has full 5G access. We were able to watch wrestlemania by the fireside!

Ben's place was exactly what we were looking for. When we arrived the campsite was just as described. The extras we requested were waiting for us and ben came by to say hello. Our favorite part about the visit was the time spent on the pond. We brought nightcrawlers thinking we might want to relax and do a a little lazy fishing. We quickly found out that the sunfish can be caught almost instantly on every cast. After catching as many bream as we wanted. We switched over to a small spinning lure and caught countless bass and a random crappie here and there. We would definitely love to come back and camp on our next trip to Charlottesville.

My grandson and I had a marvelous time camping at Ben’s place. Cracked the code on what lures the fish wanted to chomp on, burned a lot of wood on two cold nights and chilly mornings, enjoyed the spectacular star filled night sky, and were grateful for Ben, Sarah, and AJ’s hospitality.

We loved our overnight camp at Ben's space! He was quick to respond to messages and met us shortly after arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. It was a great first camping spot for our two young daughters that was quiet and secluded. It was a quick drive from Charlottesville and a great place to escape without having to drive a long distance. Thanks so much!

Staying the night on Ben's land was awesome. Their house is right up the hill so plenty of privacy when staying at the site. Add on some firewood because you get plenty for the fire pit. Beautiful area, pretty pond, and cute dog sui would definitely give some pets to again!
Overall great and friendly would definitely recommend.

Wow! What a wonderful resting spot. So quiet and serene but still a short drive to town or UVA. Ben was an exceptional host and I will definitely come back again! The view was wonderful and all part or the serene theme.

We enjoyed our stay and it was perfect stop for our car camping trip to West Virginia. Secluded site....firepit was a plus and having a few extras delivered like firewood and water was nice.

Awesome spot! Super quaint and remote feeling but hardly 10 mins from the action at is downtown CVille. We went to a concert at the local Amphitheater Downtown and it took us less than 15 minutes.

This was a nice and quiet spot, no traffic noise from the road and a nice lake to watch the ducks at sun set. The family was very kind and welcoming and I will definitely come back next time I’m in the Charlottesville area. Also the ground it’s self is nice and flat so very little is needed to level the camper and plenty of space.

My first Hipcamp experience and it couldn’t have gone better!! I spent two nights on the property
Ben and Sarah are wonderful hosts and the site did not disappoint. You can expect to receive a warm welcome by Ben and the happiest little boy this side of the Mississippi!!
The site is very secluded and quiet leaving nothing but the wind through the trees and forest creatures to help you sleep. I use a rrt on my Jeep and was able to park without the need to level.
Ben let me ride my mountain bike a bit around the property. No fishing this time but there are several spots you can setup and fish the day away!
The property is so close to Charlottesville that the second day I decided to Uber to Monticello for a trail run and tour of TJs house.
If your like me and actively try to avoid hotels then this is the spot.
