We spent 2 nights tent/rooftop tent camping on the property and we had a great time. I checked in and was directed to the camp area where I was able to pick a spot near the main road, in between the grape vines or near the pond. I chose a spot near the pond. The land is decently hilly so you may be limited to where you set up camp if a level spot is needed. The spot we chose was fairly secluded. We did have farmers drive by on tractors a few times but other than that we didn’t see anyone else. The brewery was also nice to have within walking distance. We stopped by and grabbed a few drinks and hung out in a shipping container they converted into a small building part of the brewery. They had 6 packs and cigars you can take back to site. During the day time we walked down to the farm animals where they had horses, cows and goats. As mentioned in other reviews it’s not the most quiet place to camp. Dogs are barking and geese are quacking throughout the night so be advised if you are a light sleeper. The property is also close to gas stations and a home depot if you need to run up the road to grab supplies. Overall, we had a great time and would be open to visiting again!

Generally, the setting is great and there was a very easy check-in process. That being said, it’s not exactly the quietest environment. We were in a rooftop tent. Perhaps a hard walled RV would have been better. The main complaint would be the noise from traffic on Rt3 carrying loudly across the vineyard and the farm dog(s) barking until very early hours in the morning. We had our own dogs as well, so this caused them to be alerted constantly as well.
I’d recommend the site though if you take appropriate measures to mitigate noise, etc.

Overall a decent stay. The staff at the brewery were confused about check in but we got it sorted out. It was in the colder season so we had a lot of privacy which was really nice. We enjoyed the ability to hang at the brewery/vineyard with other campers and we appreciated bathrooms available after hours. The butter beer and white wine hot apple cider were just what we needed that chilly night. Would stay again but my only complaint was it was hard to find a flat spot to set up. We found a decently flat spot but since we were sleeping directly on a mat on the ground we were shifting/sliding all night- prob would’ve been fine for a RV camper though.

This is a beautiful place with lots of space. We didn't have time to try the wines, but the beer at 1781 brewing (on the property) was excellent. Staff that we interacted with was very friendly. There are horses, chickens, geese and possibly cattle on the property, along with a beautiful pond. Although you can hear the truck traffic on Rt 3, it's not too bad. We had a quiet night to ourselves and the sunrise over the the grapevines was just extra.

It was a remarkable experience to have stayed on this land. Surrounded by important American history that is within driving distance. We were able to enjoy The Civil War tours and spend the evenings at the 1781 Brewing Co. and/or The Wilderness Run Vineyards just a walk across from where we camped. There were different fun activities at the winery each night and the places had amazing wines and beer made on site. The seating outside made for a cozy & majestic feel! Everyone we met were beautiful, helpful, and happy people!

Lovely place! We have a 39” renovated school bus and we tow a jeep. There is plenty of space for both vehicles. We stayed on a grassy field between a vineyard and a corn field. It was very peaceful. We walked down to the winders and brewery and got to visit with the chickens, horses and donkeys. The property is beautiful. The winery and brewery were fantastic.

We found a great little nook on the property that felt very private. It was close to the lake, had a little fire pit. Surprised that there weren’t many mosquitoes! I would definitely recommend for a night like we did. We enjoyed some drinks, live music, a little playground for our daughter, roaming roosters, horses, geese and more. Had a great time.

This was one of the nicest camping experiences I've had. The campsite is located at a brewery, so when I checked in I was able to buy some nice cold beer. Even the ground was nice and soft in the spot I picked out. I was feeling pretty burnt out at the end of a long day on the road, so I didn't go socialize - but the campsite is walking distance from the brewery if that interests you. Despite the proximity, I never actually saw another person during my stay aside from when I checked in, making it feel nice and private.

The idea of being able to camp night to a brewery / winery is pretty great, it is a solid place to hang out. That said the area for camping in a tent needs some more attention. Grass needs to be cut, definitely too long and can lead to increased tics. The fire pit is just a circle of dirt, an actual fire ring would probably be safer and more enjoyable..I’d also recommend a picnic table..
Lastly, if you are a light sleeper nearby animals will certainly keep you up most of the night.
Otherwise it was fun to camp there, just needs a little more love.

The site and family who own this property are helpful and wonderful. There is a brewery and winery on site and beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed an evening playing trivia with the community and having a delicious cheese plate. Then when we ad vehicle problems, they found us a mechanic! The people and place couldn’t have been kinder, lovelier or more helpful!

Our dogs loved walking the open fields. The horses, geese, chickens, peacocks-- all added to a cozy Wilderness experience.

Found a nice spot on the pond that had a pre-existing fire pit. Stayed on a Saturday night so got free classic rock live band music from the bar on the property (which ended around 9PM). When I checked in, they had me register in a Harvesthosts book even though this was a paid Hipcamp reservation. Hostess did not have map to provide but the directions were simple, drive up the dirt road past the barns/containers and park anywhere in that area including by the pond.

The location was beautiful, but at first, we struggled to find a campsite. We enjoyed spending time privately with friends and watching the farmer’s animals and birds from a distance. It brought back nostalgic memories of when I used to work on the farm a long time ago.

Great place to stay for a few nights. The brewery, 1781, and the pumpkin spice beer were amazing. The locals were all nice conversation and I enjoyed my time. Also, there gentlemen that showed me where to park, so I didn't get stuck in the snow storm. Definitely recommend

My friends and I enjoyed our recent stay here. It's so close to DC, where we all live, and having the brewery onsite is a plus. There are a few things to keep in mind before coming out, however.
First, the camp site is literally an open crop field. You can set up anywhere except the area next to the pond. The open field makes for great stargazing at night, but does leave you exposed during the day. The only shade you'll have is what you provide, so I highly recommend bringing a pop-up canopy or something similar. You will also need to bring your own fire pit (think solo stove or something similar), as there isn't one on site. Some of the photos posted by previous campers show a ground fire are near the pond but that area is actually off-limits. The field is next to a well-traveled road so you'll hear traffic until it dies down at night. The brewery also features live music, which carried over to the camping area until about 9 or so. There is a Sheetz and 7-11 just outside the farm. Neither had firewood for sale during our stay, but Pitkin's Hardware just down the road had plenty. There is also a Food Lion about a 5-min drive away.
I mention all of this so that future campers know what to expect. We had a nice time camping here. The brewery and vineyard are lovely, and I must say that the beer was quite good! We bought a couple growlers and I suspect we'll return for another weekend getaway in the future since it's so close to home.

This place is definitely beautiful and was quite convenient to many wineries and breweries. We enjoyed feeling like we were in a very secluded area and at the same time being so conveniently located. Everyone at the brewery is also very friendly and eager to help when you need it.
The one thing you should know is this is a farm so lots of animals and lots of animal noises. There is a pond near the camp site that is filled with geese that are very vocal. Lots of dogs barking and you will hear roosters and chickens. It didn’t bother me but if you are a light sleeper, that might keep you up at night.
Over all though, this place is just beautiful and I would come back when I’m in the area again.

We really enjoyed camping at Wilderness Run. We checked in with the bartender at the brewery and he gave us quick directions on how to find a spot to set up. We ended up camping close to the pond, which was a nice spot for the night. We took our solo stove with us, so we used that for our firepit. There was one already built a little ways from where we were, however that area was not very flat, so it wasn’t a great spot for a tent. We were close to the brewery/winery, so we spent the evening there listening to music and then walked back to our site. There are a lot of chicken, roosters, geese, and dogs, so there is noise throughout the evening, but that doesn’t bother us (considering we’re in nature and there are animals). I’d just recommend some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Everyone we met was super friendly. We will definitely be returning!

So great for a couple of nights. The vinyard is on a gorgeous piece of land and is full of all kinds of birds. We found a spot by the pond and walked 5 min to the winery for drinks and live music and food trucks. There were also horses and goats to pet. It feels like this spot has everything including sangria slushies and little ducklings. Everyone was so nice.

I would definitely stay here again but if you are looking, I would say that there is no shade other than your tent, camper, or pop-up. The property is very beautiful and the winery/brewery is a pleasant amenity. This was my home base for an event in the area and it served me well. One thing I should note is that on Saturday morning, about 7 am, I was awoken to the sound of gunfire somewhere nearby. So, if you are comfortable with a rural environment, book here. I'll be back next year to participate in the same event if my schedule allows.

Great location. Imagine leaning back in your camp chair, as you sit between rows of grapes, looking up at countless stars... now go visit this place and make it a reality. If you are more social, it's just a short walk to the brewery for some beverages and entertainment. Very peaceful and relaxing. Absolutely LOVED it!!!

What can one say...camping at a vineyard! I was in my Honda Element 'campervan' set up two nights. The staff at the brewery/wine tasting were kind and pointed me up the gravel road. Once the road turned to dirt, I went off to the right to find a mostly level spot. And mostly private. I was working at a nearby archaeology dig so wasn't there until evenings. It was really lovely to have dinner (you can bring your own food or have their cheese box or charcuterie) and a glass of wine in the evening!
