Located just a short distance from the Appalachian Trail, this is an ideal stop for hikers, weekend adventurers, and those searching for an easy-access riverside escape. Watch for wildlife such as otters, beavers, ducks, and geese. Enjoy direct river access for swimming, relaxing, or cooling off after a long day on the trail. The site is easily accessible while still offering a sense of privacy and space. Just minutes from White River Junction, you'll have convenient access to food, supplies, and town amenities while still enjoying a peaceful Vermont setting. Whether you're passing through or planning a longer stay, this spot offers a clean, simple basecamp to unwind and recharge. Please note that this is a natural riverfront setting with uneven terrain, rocks, and changing water conditions. Guests should use caution near the river at all times and supervise children closely. Swimming is at your own risk. Campfires may be permitted depending on current local fire conditions and regulations. Fires are approved on a case-by-case basis and are not allowed during high-risk conditions. Guests must comply with all Vermont fire safety rules and any active burn restrictions. Fires must never be left unattended.

Riverside Campsite 1
We had a great time staying at Heather’s campsite. It felt very private and had beautiful views of the river. It was also a quick and easy drive to get to Quechee and Woodstock from our site. We would definitely camp there again.

Hidden gem right on the river with privacy from the road and level camping area. There are two fire areas that have had a bunch of nails to watch out for when driving around but other than that the site was perfect

Great area, loved waking up watching the beaver swimming around in the river. A sign to the entrance would’ve been ideal as not easily seen with brush being overgrown.

Riverside Campsite 1
We had a wonderful time. A bald eagle flying overhead greeted us upon arrival! The site was open, flat, and right along the White River. This would be a good camp to bring a canoe. The driveway access was a little tricky for our tall rig but we got in okay. There's plenty of room to turn around in the camping area. There was a little traffic noise but it was partially drowned out by the sound of the river.
