We got in after dark and left early in the morning, so we didn’t get to enjoy the whole property. But the amazing view of the night sky coupled with the fire ring and provided firewood were perfect.

Amazing Spot in Central VT

Tip-top spot with breathtaking views in a great location, 45 minutes from Burlington and 45m-1.5h from the interior (Waterbury, Killington, Woodstock, Montpelier, Stowe), right in the heart of the Green Mountains. Melinda and Dave were very responsive to our messages and just great hosts. They maintain a beautiful, flat site with a lot of privacy, a stocked and cleaned outhouse, and complementary firewood. What’s not to love? This was our first trip with our rig up to Vermont and it’s definitely gonna be part of a regular rotation. Many thanks to these great people for letting us stay at their property! This is what HipCamp is all about.

Very beautiful spot. A great farm, very close to Middlebury. Melinda and Dan are very accommodating and understanding of guests’ last minute plan changes. Really appreciate the flexibility.

This campsite was quiet and beautiful! It was great that our dog could explore off leash. Firewood and kindling were provided. The hosts stopped by to make sure we knew where water was and to make sure we didn’t need anything. Our only complaint was that there’s no shade at the site for our tent. Fortunately, there’s a wooded area close by that was pretty level for a tent.

This was such a special camping spot. Melinda and Dan were great hosts and the camp site was quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the views of the horse pasture across the street and our dog loved having the extra space. Having access to an outhouse and potable water as well as picnic table was very helpful. I would recommend this site to anyone, and I hope to come back myself!

Truly an exceptionnal place to stay. We were looking for peaceful and quiet and that’s exactly what it was. The hosts are very nice and it is very secluded. Our dog had a wonderful time being off-leash. We loved being close to the horses, and seeing the little rabbits chilling on the site every night.

We had a very nice weekend at Melinda and Dan‘s site! We camped with several tents in the large clearing and enjoyed the use of the campfire, picnic table, and very clean out house.
Directions were very clear. Align those generously applied firewood and running water was available up near their home a short walk away.
We were reasonable driving distance from several nice places to swim.

We loved staying here. The site felt private, was well maintained, and our dogs loved running around. There were so many spots nearby to hike and explore. We spent the first day hiking around Shelburne Bay, Red Rocks, and Niquette Bay State Park at Lake Champlain; the second day was more low key walking around Crown Point and then picnicking at Port Henry. The views driving around the area were amazing with stunning views of the Adirondacks. The horses coming by our site in the evening was one of the highlights of our trip. We went to WAGS (West Addison General Store) for basic necessities and fire wood but our host let us know they have firewood available as well. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked this Hipcamp last minute after our original plans fell through—and honestly, we’re so glad they did! This place was absolutely beautiful: peaceful, quiet, and easy to find. It ended up being such a happy surprise.
We only stayed overnight, but it was enough to know we’ll definitely be back. Our dogs loved the open space, and we felt immediately welcomed by the kind and friendly hosts. They shared tips on nearby places to kayak and hike—we wish we had more time to explore!
Thank you for sharing this serene and special spot with us. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.

stayed 2 nights in early April
pros: easy to find, clean property, metal fire pit, picnic table, Melinda and Dan are very responsive and friendly, they brought their tiny home to the site because they knew I was tent camping on a rainy weekend, requested a wood chopping block and they delivered it immediately
cons: the tiny house has a funky odor to it and apparently my down pillow absorbed this odor through the air - hoping this goes away over time but right now it's unusable
there's not much privacy because the road is 50 feet away and had pretty regular traffic. some of the passing vehicles slowed to almost a stop and I could see them rubber necking to get a look at whoever was at the site. this made me uncomfortable leaving my possessions when I would leave for the day because I didn't know who all these visitors were and they all seemed overly interested in getting a look at me. I can be a bit extra when it comes to privacy/security so this was probably partially just me.
suggestions: orient the tiny house so it's between the road and site to add privacy and provide a way to secure the house ( key, or combination keypad)

Melinda & Dan’s place is wonderful. They are fantastic hosts, their land is gorgeous, clean and peaceful., and our dogs had a blast!

Atopped through for a night from Lake Champlain to the Green Mountains. I loved how simple and large the campsite is, Dan was very kind and accommodating. At night the horses came down to say hello, and the sunrise and sunset are a highlight of the stay. Very simple set up but seems like it would fit the needs of large and small groups of people, or solo travelers like me

Beautiful and relaxing place for a cool fall adventure. Frosty meadows, with a big camp fire and a Super Moon! Definitely everything as billed, except hosts Melinda and Dan are even more gregarious and friendly then we would have guessed (particularly at the end of a long camping season). We will definitely be going back there. This is our first Hipcamp booking, and we stayed at the site in a small travel trailer. A little worried the bar has been set too high as we explore other Hip Camp locations!

We absolutely loved camping here, and the hosts were extremely accommodating and sweet. They went above and beyond, leaving firewood and starter. We had a little bit of issues with getting there, due to our own fault not directions (tired from long road trips) and she was the absolute best! The view there is incredible. Full stars on a non cloudy day, and in the morning the view is also incredible. Very pet friendly. Will definitely be back!

Melinda’s campsite was everything you want for a quiet peaceful night. You could see every single start and hear the calming chirps of crickets through the night. She was a wonderful host and had a fire ready to go for us before we got there! Very thoughtful great communication! A beautiful place to watch the sunrise, will definitley be coming back!

The most beautifully maintained site! We arrived late at night but found the campsite very easily and built a fire in the supplied fire ring and enjoyed the stars. In the morning we took our dogs for a walk with the horses and it was so amazing

I’ve stayed here numerous times, and will continue to whenever I’m in the area—though word is definitely out that this is one of the best sites on Hipcamp and Melinda and Dan are among the best hosts you could hope to have. Like everyone else who’s reviewed this wonderful place, I have zero complaints and zero recommendations for how it could be improved. Is there anything like that in your life?! I can’t think of anything else in mine.
