My husband and I stayed at Dream Acres over Labor Day Weekend, and I can honestly say we were extremely impressed with this site, property, and set-up. Dream Acres is an idyllic setting with plenty of space to accommodate a handful of groups. The property was pretty full for the holiday, but we still felt like we had the privacy, space, and quiet we were looking for. In fact, we barely heard the people camping in the site next to us. I also appreciate how respectful everyone was, including the hosts, in terms of not trying to socialize or hang out. People were friendly and would talk for a minute or two, but for the most part, everyone seemed like a relatively serious camper, just looking to unplug. The animals were, of course, an added bonus. We loved cracking open a beer and walking up to the miniature horse pen and saying hello! The goats are also super friendly and adorable. As far as the actual camp site goes, we stayed at site #3 because we wanted to be on the river. I liked this site because there was no one to the right of us, plus we were able to hang our hammock in the trees. The trees were a great buffer between us and site #2 and we were little bit out of the way of other groups in general. That said, I don't really think you can go wrong here with any of the sites. One recommendation I have, though, if you plan to stay by the river: The sites by the river are at the bottom of a very steep hill. The barn is located at the top of the hill (which contains the bathroom, shower, hose, etc), as well as any of the parking areas. So, if you're like us and have a LOT of stuff, you probably want to consider bringing a cart of some kind. We brought a heavy duty collapsible wagon and we kept saying how glad we were that we did. Not a huge deal, but it is a convenience you might want to consider. We highly recommend staying at Dream Acres---we will definitely be back!
