Buttercup Meadow is a beautiful property in Northern Vermont. The tent was a great place to spend the week while exploring the area. It had everything that we needed along with a beautiful view of the mountains and meadow.

Great experience. Directions/Lat & Long coordinates get you right there. Sleeping accommodations, good. Loved the kitchen and utensils/supplies. Fire pit was great. Plan to get your wood ahead of time! Walk to covered bridge/waterfall was lovely and water feature epic. Great map which led us to the wonderful spring--really is the best water! Loved the wood stove inside, great touch. Shower was great, didn't do the soaking tub. Did lose pressure late into the night, got it back the next morning. Friends & I suggested more solar lights, slip prevention strips on stairs, and mattress toppers. View and sunsets will forever be imprinted in my mind. My friends loved it and it turned them onto HipCamp! I would certainly stay again! Thanks Heather, for great communication and an organized, peaceful, and private glamping experience.

Buttercup is a place our family loves to visit to remind ourselves how to live lightly, together with the comforts the property affords. Evening rain by lamplight during a family board game is particularly spectacular as is the outdoor shower on a summery Vermont morning. We’re always sure to visit the stream just under the covered bridge, enjoy the firepit, and discover local delights just a short drive from camp. Opening the the cabin each morning to the view of the green mountains is such a treat that we actually take turns in our family. We look forward to another season next year.

Buttercup Meadow
This was our 4th year staying at Buttercup and although we had more rain than usual it was still an amazing time! It is so relaxing sitting on the porch listening to the rain. We were prepared for the weather with our rain boots & jackets. We took a day trip down to Stowe to check out Idletyme & Alchemist brewery (highly recommend!) and took the kiddos to the indoor water park at Jay Peak! We still had plenty of sunshine to wander on down to the swimming hole where we chatted with a few locals and relaxed by the waterfall.
Buttercup Meadow is such a beautiful place to get away and slow down. Heather’s setup has been perfect for our family of 5. We look forward to visiting every summer.

I loved every moment. It's a beautiful peice of land, the place was cozy and had every convenience I could want from a glamping experience. The water pressure was definitely impacted (as the instructions said) by the lack of sun on one of the day, so make sure to have water for washing dishes if it's cloudy. Everything was easy, and Heather was responsive and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

We had the most perfect time at Buttercup Meadows. Heather was easy to communicate with and proactive about what we should bring with us. The site had everything we needed and more. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. A true glamping experience for us. We can’t wait to come back!

Buttercup Meadow
This place was a literal DREAM! Our family of 5 absolutely loved everything about our stay. The tent/cabin was the perfect balance of nature and comfort. We all had plenty of space inside with separate rooms with super comfy beds. We loved being outside on the porch and enjoying meals and fire pit sits in the beautiful meadows. The outdoor shower was amazing. We hope to return again!

Buttercup Meadows is a magical place for those who wish to completely unplug. Imagine a tranquil place with a meadow of blooming wildflowers coupled with birdwatching all day. You may even be lucky enough to see a few wild turkeys or hear a fisher cat at night. It’s the place where we go every year to unplug and recharge our batteries in the northeast kingdom of Vermont, where moose outnumber people.

Buttercup Meadow
Our time at Heather’s Buttercup Meadow was as idyllic as could be! We were there from Oct 7-10, and going into the weekend we felt very prepared, thanks to Heather’s communication. While we were there, there was little to no running water and no hot water (which Heather warned us about) but we made it work. The tent was equipped with anything you could need for cooking, dark + chilly nights, leisure or nearby exploration. The small gas woodstove was clutch because it was quite chilly in the early mornings and extra blankets kept us warm at night. We enjoyed morning walks to the covered bridge, nightly fires under the stars and just the simple joys of being in a thoughtfully, beautifully prepared “tent” in an awe-inspiring, natural setting. Other highlights were hiking Jay Peak, making friends with locals at the Belfry, and visiting Burlington and Stowe. We’d love to come back in the summertime to enjoy the swimming hole! Thankful for our fall stay!

The pros: It's a beautiful spot in a clean and very functional structure that was tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable, the spring water delicious and enough kitchen stuff to make preparing food pretty easy. It was a relaxing vacation off the grid. We also appreciated the gas heater because it got pretty cold one night. The host was kind and very responsive.
The cons: Several issues meant we had to keep driving into town for cell phone service to contact the host.
Issue 1: No running water. We learned later lightning damaged the equipment -- so no bathing. Thankfully there was the spring option and the 5 gallon container to be able to rinse the toilet as instructed and to wash hands and dishes. The host didn't notify us in advance of the water issue but did offer to make good on one day of a future stay -- if we decide to book in the future that is!
Issue 2: The swimming hole was closed -- no trespassing / signs posted EVERYWHERE, big boulders to prevent anyone from parking there and a fence to prevent entering from the other side. We didn't end up swimming because it was so unwelcoming and we didn't want to get into trouble. Turns out the host knew about this but didn't notify us in advance.
Issue 3: Not the host's fault but a family with kids showed up on our second day saying they'd booked for two nights! Thankfully they left but it was awkward.
You might want to bring your own washcloths and an extra blanket or two. We really wished we'd had those things.

Peaceful setting with a fantastic swimming hole. The location was easy to find. Recommend trying the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail. We needed to contact Heather about the composting toilet and she responded quickly. Only thing missing was our dogs.

Buttercup Meadow was an absolutely beautiful, and perfect place for our family getaway. To unplug and be in nature together-swimming by the creamery bridge, biking on the rail trail, hiking near Jay peak-and so many cozy places to cozy up and read a book. Stargazing and fire pit time galore. Space for kids to roam and play freely. The tent was very glam and decorated so beautifully and thoughtfully. It is perfect size for family of four, and outfitted with everything you need for cooking. Our only dissatisfaction was the bed. Part of what we were looking for in glamping was not sleeping on the ground, and to have a good week of sleep and rest on vacation. Unfortunately for 2 adults, the queen bed was hard, but sagged and you could feel the coils. The whole time we kept saying “gosh, I would come back again and again if the mattress was better! We even joked about bringing our own mattress next time.
The water pressure indeed was non existent on the one day we had no sun, and that would have probably been a bummer if it was that way all week, but we very much appreciate the off grid eco friendly nature of the entire space.

Buttercup Meadow was a great glamping experience! Heather provided everything you will need to have a fun camping trip without the hassle of packing all the “stuff”. We went kayaking at Vermont Canoe and Kayak, which was about a 40 min drive, and this was a ton of fun. Very relaxing time away!

Be aware that the water system is solar operated, so that in rainy weather (like we had during our stay - an afternoon of rain storms), the water production goes down to almost nothing. So washing your dishes becomes quite impossible, you ll have to wait for sunnier weather.. !
Tent was very well equipped apart from some missing cutlery. Comfortable beds, lots of towels and bedding. Cooking for a family , one slightly smaller cooking pan (besides the huge one) would have been nice. But those are really very small complaints. All in all a wonderful stay in a very special location

Simply beautiful location. The swimming hole was great on hot days. The hip camp is beautifully designed and major perk to not have to bring a camp stove or mess kit- it has everything you need. We were a group of 6 and the space fit us no problem. Woke to the sounds of birds each morning and the deck make the best place to read or hang. We enjoyed mountain biking in Montgomery and paddled and Vt Canoe & Kayak. Both were great days. Heather was extremely responsive to all of our questions and helped guide our adventurous group of ladies around what we were going to do. We ate at the Belfry one night for dinner- fun spot with yummy drinks! Would absolutely come back to Hathers hip camp!

Buttercup Meadow is a heavenly oasis. The view of the Green Mounatins from the deck of the tent every morning took my breath away. The design of the tent was picture perfect, soothing and comfort to the max with sleeping for 5 (1 queen bedroom and a bunk room with 3 singles). Extra blankets around for snuggling up on one of the daybed/cots or various other comfy chairs. We spent our days creating art and exploring the beautiful area (visiting the swimming hole under the covered bridge is a MUST!) The tent is well equipped with solar powered lanterns and headlamps, we didn’t even miss the electricity with the extra long summer days. Cannot wait to return!

Buttercup Meadows was one of the most relaxing weekends of my life. It was such a serene and tranquil environment. My wife and I sat on the porch for two days and just watch nature entertain us. From the bluebirds to the goldfinches and Orioles to a couple of female turkeys with their brood it was kismet. The accommodations were far beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this northern Vermont gem if you want to get off the grid for a few days

We loved staying at Buttercup Meadows! The view, the stargazing, the amount of fireflies, surrounding towns & swimming hole were so great. Beds were so comfortable and amenities really made it to where you just need to bring personal items, food & drink. We loved the Barn Owl, birdwatching & seeing wildlife, Bernie’s, exploring Stowe & Morrisville. It was great to disconnect and relax. We would definitely come back!

Buttercup is a lottle sices of heaven and pure Magic! It was just what we needed! We truly unplugged and enjoyed every second of our stay. Buttercup is comfy, cozy and a truly unique experience. It was worth the 5-hour drive!

Incredible experience! We stumbled on and booked Buttercup for my wife’s birthday getaway. Avid campers ourselves, we thought it’d be cool to give glamping a go and we’re blown away by the hospitality. The meadow was a beautiful view to wake up to, especially on a rainy day with nothing to do. Check it out!

We booked a last minute visit to Buttercup Meadow and LOVED IT!! The tent is appointed perfectly, the view is gorgeous, talk about time to unplug! We squeezed in many swims at the swimming hole and thoroughly enjoyed reading on the porch. The towels and linens smelled SO good, planning to make it my life’s work to determine the detergent (unless you want to email me the answer, Heather!) If I went again, would remember to pack paper towels, as that was the one thing I missed in an otherwise well equipped kitchen. Also, the outdoor shower was dreamy, but very little pressure due to clouds and both nights it made a continual beep beep sound which jarred with the peaceful nature sounds. Already scheming when we can go back. Go, you will not regret it!

What a magical and special place! It was so nice to have some creature comforts but still feel like camping. The swimming hole was a hit with the kids and there was nothing more peaceful than sitting on the porch looking at the stunning view!

Meadow was shifting from buttercups to thistle and other wildflowers in late July. Tent was beautifully appointed and we loved the stove on a cool rainy evening. My children adored the swimming hole. The kitchen made cooking a dream and we enjoyed outdoor meals at the picnic table. Grill and firepit also a plus!
