Ben, Amanda and their little one live here, in the home that Ben grew up in. They make it a large part of their lives to tend the land, with plenty of time spent planting and nourishing perennial fruit and nut 'orchards.'  In 2020, we built our first (of two) tent platforms with accompanying sites and outhouses. Our goal is to share our beautiful land, view, and peaceful solitude with those who are interested. This land was originally inhabited by the Wabanaki, and anyone with indigenous roots is welcome to camp here, free of charge. Contact us, and we'll set it up.

FIREWOOD, DRINKING WATER, and OUTHOUSE USAGE AVAILABLE! This is a tent site! The tent platform (10x14) keeps you off the ground. Bring your own tent, sleeping bag, stove, camping supplies, etc.--however much or little you're comfortable with :) We are about 6 miles off the interstate in Bradford, Vermont. It is relatively quiet, beautiful, natural. Our lovely piece of paradise is yours to share for the duration of your stay. This is a camping platform on our working homestead. We have chickens that squawk (no roosters though), the neighbors have dogs that sometimes bark, and there are rabblerousers who occasionally rev their truck engines in the distance. You may see us out weeding and watering the garden, pruning the fruit trees, harvesting produce, schlepping lumber, etc. This is our home site, and we think you'll enjoy it, but it is not a national forest or a state park. There is a fire pit that you are welcome to use; firewood is available for $5 per generous bundle. We also provide a large tote of fresh-from-the-well drinking water. If you run out, you are welcome to refill it.The outhouse is your bathroom for your stay here; as this is the only tent site, you will be sharing it only with your party. We have a compost bin for any food scraps, with a barrel of rain water for doing dishes in style! We ask that you keep any food (or food-smelling) products either in your vehicle or in the bear-proof barrel that we provide!

This gorgeous private campsite looks East to the White Mountains, with the opportunity for the observation of a stunning sunrise every morning. When it isn't booked, we frequently camp at this site.  FIREWOOD, DRINKING WATER, and OUTHOUSE USAGE AVAILABLE! This is a tent site! The tent platform (12x12) keeps you off the ground. Bring your own tent, sleeping bag, stove, camping supplies, etc. We are about 6 miles off the interstate in Bradford, Vermont. It is relatively quiet, beautiful, natural. Our lovely piece of paradise is yours to share for the duration of your stay. This is a camping platform on our working homestead. This site is very private; so mostly it will just be you and your tranquil thoughts. But in the distance you may hear our squawking chickens, the neighbors' dogs, rabble-rousers revving their truck engines, etc. If you wander the property, you may see us out weeding and watering the garden, pruning the fruit trees, harvesting produce, schlepping lumber, etc. There is a fire pit that you are welcome to use; firewood is available for $5 per generous bundle. Amanda and Ben’s Sugar Shack is an absolute gem! This secluded slice of paradise is perfect for anyone seeking peace and a beautiful view of the mountains. The stargazing was breathtaking and the sunrises painted the mornings with vibrant colors that left us in awe. The thoughtfully crafted platform, table, and benches added such a special touch, making our stay both comfortable and memorable. The provided water (free) and firewood (low cost for generous bundles) were unexpected bonuses that made everything even more convenient. It was secluded enough that my dog was able to roam free with no worries. Amanda and Ben’s generosity in sharing their stunning property truly made this experience unforgettable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to this breathtaking spot! Thank you SO much, Amanda & Ben!

We had an amazing time here. We booked the site and Amanda told me she had forgot friends were staying at it. She offered us their personal camp site which is not on hipcamp. It is closer to their home. She was lovely. Brought us a huge container of cherry tomatoes and was perfectly happy with our children running about being kids. THE VIEW. THE STARS. MAGICAL. We will absolutely return!!!! Thanks so much Amanda! We had a beautiful weekend!!!

Amanda's land was gorgeous! The tent platform, wooden table, and benches around the fire pit made the space super convenient. Lots of wildlife in the area and lovely sunrises!

This was a beautiful camping spot! Great view, really helpful tent platform, handmade benches around the firepit and a large table which provides plenty of space for setting up everything you need. The parking spot is super close to the camp spot, firewood is also right next to the campsite if you need to purchase some, and the site was very clean. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You can hear some local traffic echoing through the area and we saw some neighbors in the distance tending to their yards, so this isn't a site where you will truly see/hear no one else, but it still felt very private and woodsy. Bugs weren't too bad, though we did find a couple ticks, so best to come prepared on that front! Amanda was also very friendly and answered any questions we had!

Amanda and Ben’s camping area was beautiful! We had a wonderful time. Very private and quiet. Our dogs had a great time too! Definitely recommend this spot for a camping getaway!

This is honestly the best hipcamp I have stayed at out of the many. The place is private, has all the amenities you need for an ideal getaway, and has a beautiful view and setting. Was perfect for our fall getaway. Second time back and definitely not the last!

Great hosts & hospitality. Such a cool spot at the edge of Ben and Amanda’s property overlooking a large field and I to the Green Mountains. Wonderful handmade dining and work table. Fantastic firepit…and their maple syrup is amazing! (Opt in for that one!). Was a perfect respite for a getaway weekend!

Ben and Amanda’s property was gorgeous! I will absolutely be planning another trip there in the future. The drive to the site winds through their property and once you reach it, you are completely secluded. The site includes a tent platform, stunning wooden table, and fire pit that all overlook the white mountains. There is an outhouse a very short walk down a path from the site that was both private and so cool! 10/10 would recommend!

Camping here was amazing. The site was a bit tricky to find but the hosts were very helpful. The view is great and it was peaceful. We would absolutely camp here again.

This was an idyllic spot. The campsite area was very private and comfortable, and was fully set up for all our needs. Views were lovely, hosts provided ready firewood and water, all around great spot for family/car camping. By the end of the weekend, my 3-yr old was referring to the tent and site as our "new house" and didn't want to go home. We would definitely return, and recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, secluded camping getaway.

The views were absolutely stunning. The hosts were so friendly and easy going. The fire pit and platform were a nice touch, made camping easy and convenient . There was an outhouse with a saw bucket for bathroom usage and we had plenty of privacy. We will return.

I had such an amazing stay at this site!! There was a beautiful view of the mountains, and it’s close to town and some nice hiking spots. They supplied a few gallons of water, and even brought me a shovel for the unexpected snowfall! It was super peaceful, and I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the world for a little bit 😊

It was absolutely beautiful and Amanda was incredibly accommodating of our trip right after a major snow storm! It’s a wonderful, private spot that couldn’t have been better for us! It was easy to access the outhouse and get a bundle of wood for a fire even in the snow!

I'm hesitant to leave this review... because this site is so awesome. I've stayed at Amanda's spot before in 2022 and it was the perfect place to rest after a few days of hiking through NH. It's peaceful, beautiful, and serene. The long table is a perfect place to brew coffee, make dinner, and share time with one other. The fire pit is perfect for unwinding with a book, and making some smores. Highly recommend... but don't tell anyone else!!!

Lovely view of the mountains over a field with a nice platform for your tent and lounging. Sunrises, sunsets and starry nights were all breathtaking. There's rustic benches by the fire pit and a gorgeous, extra large wood table for cooking prep. A mowed area in front of the site to play catch or run around. The firewood we ordered was set up when we got there, with extra available for cash or venmo. Easy to find and very very private. The host's homestead was up the hill/drive but the site felt totally secluded, we never needed to contact the hosts and were left to ourselves (just fine by us). It's a steep drive down the site so I'm not sure how it might be in mud season or winter snow/ice for a smaller car. You park just behind the site up a couple steps, so the car is super close but not in the way at all. It is primitive camping (no electric/water, pack out your trash) but they provided a 5 gallon thermos of water which lasted us (2 adults, 1 child) two days with conservative use for drinking, cooking and cleanup. There's a nice composting outhouse which was comfy, private and did not smell....a 30sec stroll into the woods. Bring your flashlights and headlamps because it is pitch black at night. We were blessed with cool, clear, calm weather and minimal bugs so we slept under the STARS on our air mattress on the platform. They were spectacular! Highly recommend this site! Think of it as primitive camping plus.

Amanda and Ben’s site was an absolute gem. We enjoyed our stay so much. The site is secluded and private but not too far away incase you’re not used to camping deep in the woods. They give very generous fire wood bundles which is a great plus. We arrived later in the day and Ben was there to greet us and point out the driveway going down to the sugar shack. At night it is quiet and peaceful, during the morning it is sunny and warm. I can’t wait to go back

My husband, pup Cody and I had a great 2 nights at The Sugar Shack. We did the tent rental and it was all set up when we arrived. Beautiful spot, very private. We did fires both nights and went to Dog Mountain on our day there. Amanda was very responsive to all questions. We highly recommend The Sugar Shack!
