Weekend at The Sugar Shack
My husband, pup Cody and I had a great 2 nights at The Sugar Shack. We did the tent rental and it was all set up when we arrived. Beautiful spot, very private. We did fires both nights and went to Dog Mountain on our day there. Amanda was very responsive to all questions. We highly recommend The Sugar Shack!

We had a great time camping at Ben and Amanda's. They have a beautiful property with amazing views of the white mountains. The campsite was very cozy and offered enough privacy. The location provided easy access to Town. We'd definitely stay here again.

Amanda’s place was amazing. The set up was so cute and convenient. Amanda and her family also went out of their way to help me prepare for a rain storm. It was nice to know their were people near by but they also gave me plenty of privacy. Probably one of the best places I have stayed.

I loved this spot! The whole campsite and platform was perfect. The grass was mowed, platform swept off, and outhouse cleaned. Amanda has beautiful land and with the sunrise views, you can’t beat it! My dog, Sully, also loved it.

This is an amazing campsite - beautiful views, private, peaceful, and really clean. We had everything we needed for a great weekend - firewood, water, a lovely outhouse, and a tent platform that made setting up camp so easy. We hope to return and would highly recommend this site!

Overall a good experience. Raised platform is a plus for avoiding bugs and moisture in your tent. Some beautiful hikes close by. The site is pretty close to the owner’s house and they have workers out in the field right by the site, so if privacy is a MUST you might want to consider their other site which is more secluded. My dog was startled by someone working in one of their gardens which is very close to the site, separated only by some tall shrubs and bushes, so if you are bringing your dog be prepared for this!

Secluded Camp Site
The location was awesome! Beautiful sunrises and evening views. Wood is easily accessible and Amanda was very helpful. the platform will definitely protect from the wet ground. Overall great experience. Carry in/carry out for trash, so plan ahead.

We loved tent camping on Amanda’s land! The site was clean, private, and peaceful. The mountain views are just beautiful! The platform made it easy to set up our tent and there was a large area of mowed grass for our use. The log table was perfect for setting up supplies and cooking and the wood benches and fire pit were great as well. We appreciated the extra touches like the lovely flowers left in a vase on the table and the water jugs they provided. The outhouse was clean, cute and convenient too!
Overall it was the perfect space for us, our two young children, and our dog!

Best weekend I’ve had in years!
Great property, Great views, great site! The site was perched to take advantage of the amazing views looking east and overlooking the field and mountains and to minimize any neighbors. The sunrise is wonderful, but the night stars made the trip for me. Fire pit was clean and very efficient, wood was seasoned and burned well, and seating lovely with the DIY benches. My dog had the time of his life, wanted nothing more than to chase the wildlife, which was plentiful (chipmunks, squirrel, hawks, turkeys, and 2 deer all in just 3 days). I loved the log table they have, and the fresh cut flowers were a nice special touch. The site is close to the town and highway made exploring very convenient and there are a few lovely trails just up the road. I can not wait to plan my return trip. Honestly I was not sure I wanted to leave this review since it’s such a gem of a campsite, tell to many people and one just might spoil it.

I loved tent camping on Amanda's land! The views were beautiful and directions were clear. The platform is perfect for the tent. The firepit is amazing and well covered if it slightly rain. We had a lovely weekend

Great experience!
I loved the site! Just tucked into the edge of the woods. The table and benches are perfectly placed for cooking and sitting around the fire. Marley the dog is very nice and came to visit us a couple times. Amanda and Ben are amazing hosts and we cannot wait to come back!

These folks are doing it right!!
What a great find. Host were quick to respond to questions. We pulled up to fresh flowers in a beautiful huge table. Fire pit with tree-made benches. Platform is well off ground also affording wonderful views of fields. Outhouse is wonderfully nearby- clean and cool with glass doors. Tons of gravel roads to ride. Very close by is Halls Pond for swimming. And of course, buy their maple syrup and they will have it waiting for you. Water is ready for you as well and you can refill. This was such a special spot. Will definitely be back!

The site was cozy with a great view. The platform is plenty large enough and overlooks the mountains. Amanda was incredible throughout my entire stay, continuously offering ways to make my time more comfortable because of the poor weather. Outhouse was clean which is a major plus too!

We had a great time here and plan to come back! Nice view and great space. Closer to the house than we expected, but we were left unbothered and could drive down to site. Outhouse is convenient, nice benches and water was provided. Host provided fresh eggs and firewood (extra, but nice and accomidating!) Great start to our camping season!

Great camping
Excellent site. Amanda provided drinking water and the outhouse was very nicely kept. The wooden platform is large enough for two tents (we used two 2-person tents and had plenty of room). There is rain water available for washing dishes and plenty of firewood too. The views are wonderful and this is a very peaceful place to enjoy creation.
Will definitely be back again!

Amanda was a great host--came out and greeted us briefly upon arrival. Everything was set up and ready for us. The actual camp spot was a little bit closer to their house than expected, but still afforded a good bit of privacy. Very peaceful and serene area of VT.

Relaxing spot with a fabulous view
We had a great stay! The tent platform is generously sized and fit our big family tent perfectly. We chose the spot for that feature since we were camping in the early (damp) spring. The kids had lots to explore. They enjoyed the visits from the chickens too. It was a nice quiet spot at night with peepers and owl calls to listen to while sitting by the fire. Fantastic views too!

Amanda was amazing, sweet and helpful. The camp site is gorgeous and comfortable. The only think I would add is better conditions for checking for ticks. Maybe a mirror in the bathroom.

Comfortable, excellent view
Wonderful view for minimum effort! I parked at the site, unpacked, and didn't move all weekend. The view from the site is excellent. A little close to the host's house, but no complaints. Amanda was friendly and accommodating.

The views really are amazing. The site which was cozy and very well kept. Amanda put a lot of thought and care into the site and it shows. As noted in the listing, it's a short walk from the main house on the property and this is not a backwoods camping experience. Was lucky enough to wake up to snow in mid-October and it was a beautiful sight. Rural location in Vermont but still close enough to town for any supplies you may have forgotten. Super quick drive to some great hiking and amazing fall views. Awesome spot, host, and location.

Great place with beautiful views
We loved staying here! Everything is well maintained and beautiful. We were very comfortable with our tent up on the raised wooden platform. We loved walking on the short trails around the campsite. Amanda and Ben made sure we had everything we needed, and even gave us recommendations for places to hike. Bonus: there's a very friendly cat!

Mountain views + Camping made easy!
Beautiful tent platform with outstanding views. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. The facilities (outhouse , fire pit, table, benches, platform) are well build and create a comfortable stay . As a single women traveler I felt very safe and I will be back again for some Vermont style R&R. Do your self a favor and pick up the Maple syrup they sell on the farm.
