Notes:
———
* Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access.
There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two.
*Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions.
*Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general.
Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties.
Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution. (Bortle Class 2 Dark Sky)

El Conejo - Roadside Summit Site 2

RV/tent site · Sleeps 12 · Vehicles under 45 ft
This site is nearest the main road at the summit point of the front of the property with views in all directions. It can accomodate larger rigs in drivethrough fashion with grade back down to main road. Optional 50 amp electric hookup available. Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves with picnic table, fire ring, and small deck for a tent. Please note there may be another group visible at second site near back of the property. Lake access at included private beach is about 1.25 mi away turning right from the property or alternatively left via State Park entrance.
(Note: Green house is not part of the property. Other considerations: In the summer, it is hot. If you don’t have a/c, a fan, or shade, this can be resolved by going to the lake and jumping in. It is also outside so it may or may not at times, be windy and there are animals and insects. Varieties depend on the season. Sunsets are often spectacular and currently unobstructed. At night, it is pretty dark. This could result in you getting lost if you didn’t read the extensive instructions on how to get here and your Google Map skills are weak or nonexistent. Alternatively, this could result in an awesome view of the night sky.
This campsite offers a peaceful and convenient stopover for travelers, especially those on road trips. Most visitors appreciate the quietness, the stunning views, and the proximity to Yuba Lake, which provides a serene backdrop. However, some campers have noted challenges such as rough access roads, low water levels, and occasional wind, while others mention that the campsite is closer to nearby homes than expected. Overall, it's a spot that offers solitude and natural beauty, but with the occasional practical challenge.
My family and I had a great time, quiet, pretty isolated, people are around but the distance is nice. Two minutes from the lake and public bathroom. Stars forever! A bit windy at times, you are top of hill looking out over the valley so it’s worth it! She had a nice flat deck to put your stove in so it’s even. Pretty rocky so bring an air mattress or inside camping, suv, truck, camper.!
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this campsite. The only thing I want to mention is the sign needs work, other than that it was really awesome to stay there
Yuba Lake, Utah Hipcamp. Spent a quiet night under the stars without light pollution. Did some biking along the Lake.
Surrounded by Mts. Was a great stay!
Beautiful designed - especially the campfire place. Great views! But it did feel less remote than expected - the campsite is close to the main house and you can see some trailers. Host was super kind and very responsive.
We loved this spot so much we booked an extra night, our first night we had an awesome lighting thunder storm it was so cool. We would definitely come back here. Carola was awesome with all my questions!
Really enjoyed this spot… It was just the quiet I needed an expansive beauty.
Directions and communication were excellent. It was easy to find. I had read some reviews about it being windy and I got lucky and had no wind.!
It was chilly… First ice on my windshield all season! There is another house right there which at first seems a little invasive, but actually it felt safer to me to know people were around as I was traveling solo.
Thank you El Conejo!
Loved our stay here - great views, easy to find, and loved the private docks and lake area. Definitely take advantage. Both sites are visible and pretty close to the home.
Quiet and private even though you are near houses. I had no issues and enjoyed it as a one-night stop. It wouldn't be my ideal place to camp long term though unless I was there for the lake.
We appreciated the solitude and the deck. The site was easy to find with directions and signs, and our gps took us off-road for a little extra scenery. We hope the area does not become too developed.
I wouldn’t recommend this campsite. The dock shown in the photos and mentioned in the description isn’t actually at the campsite you’re paying for—it’s two miles away. We had to pack up and unpack our site twice, then pay again just to access the beaches.
If you’re planning to enjoy the water, you’re better off camping at North Beach—it’ll save you both money and hassle.
Outstanding views! Quiet, my dogs loved running around here. Stars and stars. There was no ideal location for a tent - plenty of space but the choice was packed dirt or thorny dirt or a hard wooden platform. Perhaps I'm high maintenance 😂.
We camped at this site in our Opus OP15 its was an easy pull through site with electric. Super convenient not far from the highway though you would never know it. Picnic table and fire pit with chair was lively to have though it was too windy for a fire. The views were absolutely stunning. It’s a truly gorgeous and peaceful site. Thank you!
Nice site, beautiful area of Utah I had never been to. Would definitely stay again. One site is def more private than the other. Both are well equipped!
Beautiful spot, great for traveling dogs because off leash is easy. Amazing views, nice set up with tables and deck to pull up to. Reliable power (no water hook ups just FYI). Awesome all the way around, thanks for having us.
