Kolob Campground, Kolob Terrace Road, and Kolob Reservoir is a quiet location nestled between the main canyons of Zion National Park and the remote Kolob Finger Canyons Complex at Zion National Park, about 40 minutes from Virgin Utah. With quick access to West Rim Trail, Subway Canyon, Hop Valley Trail, and Wildcat Canyon Trail, this area of Greater Zion is not to be missed. Located in a private gated area on the shores of Kolob Reservoir, Kolob Campground is the premiere location for camping on Kolob Mountain in the Greater Zion National Park area. Kolob Campground is located adjacent to the Kolob Reservoir boat ramp and dock, including four acres of private shoreline. Such a great camping experience! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for spending quality time with family. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and we had such a fun and relaxing time. We would definitely come back!

Site 4 Large Site Tent or RV
The Campsite was perfect, we had site 4 and it was massive, with a trail that leads right down to the water. Norm stopped by a few times to check on us, he was very friendly, and very accommodating. They had everything you could possibly need. Water station, dumpster, public restrooms, boat launch, WiFi, and even a place to rent kayaks, paddle boards, get some ice, or grab a sweet treat. Honestly between Norm, the Campground itself, and the amazing lake this place sits on, we will definitely be back. We had such a great time, we hardly touched our phones, and the only time we did was to take photos, and brag to our family, and friends about how amazing it was here. Thank you again for everything, and we are already looking forward to our next trip here.

I want to start by saying I absolutely love this campground. I have been here a few times. This time I stayed on site 6. It’s not the worst site. I think it is good for a small tent and smaller car, not a truck. You have two parts of it. The area with the picnic table and fire pit is rocky and bumpy. The area in the back is also very bumpy with small tree stumps. We had a 10 person tent, we like the space… and an F-150. While I still enjoyed my time. I think the ground could be fixed a little bit. I almost twisted an ankle a couple times! My issues wasn’t the size of the site, it was the ground and how bad it was. But this was my experience with this site. After, we drove around and scoped out different sites for our next camping trip up there!

We had a great view of the lake with no campsite in front of us. This site did not have tree shade so bring a pop-up but honestly, even the ones with trees don't have a lot of shade anyway. We were just steps away from water's edge. Bring your own drinking/cooking water as potable water is a bit far from this site. Host was terrific. Thanks

I loved tent camping here! If you get the RV sites its a pretty good size. Norm was the best! He had everything we could’ve asked for. The portapotties were clean, with a handwashing station. There was wifi in some areas in case you needed to call. The lake was beautiful. All in all such an amazing place to camp at. Even though we drove 4.5 hours to get here, we would totally do it again! That’s how good it was!

It’s in a very fun and remote location with a beautiful drive there. The advertisement for the campsite says WiFi available, but you have to be very close to the source to get WiFi connection. There was no internet at our site. Other than that, great spot!

The directions were very straightforward. Norm was very helpful and checked up on us throughout our stay. He was there to answer any questions we had. If you rent a propane fire pit they will bring it to your campsite once you arrive. The campsites are all numbered and easy to find. The porta potties were clean and always had toilet paper.

Unfortunately, our stay wasn’t quite the peaceful experience we were hoping for. A loud generator was running on county property just outside the campground throughout the night and continued into the next day. The constant noise made it difficult to sleep, and we ultimately decided to leave a day earlier than planned. We spoke with the camp host, who was friendly, understanding, and genuinely wanted to help. He explained that because the generator was on county property, it was outside the campground’s control. My only suggestion would be for campground management to work with the county to help address situations like this. Whether that’s coordinating on noise issues or finding ways to reduce disruptions from nearby activities, it would go a long way toward preserving the peaceful camping experience that visitors expect. Aside from the noise, the campground itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. We truly hope this issue can be resolved because we’d love to come back and enjoy everything this great campground has to offer.

Beautiful area and close to some great trailheads. Day temp in the 70s in mid July, very comfortable, not many bugs. Walkable to the lake, I brought my own kayak and had a lot of fun out there. Highly recommend if you are wanting to camp near Zion.

Great location. 20+ degrees cooler than Zion Canyon. Great swimming. Friendly and helpful host with ice cream for sale and boat rentals. Spectacular thunderstorms. Portapoties were gross, but the boat ramp pit toilets were very clean. Great birding and wild-life watching. We even met the resident SKUNk! Beware! Hidden gem!

Fairly small, clean campground. It’s close to the water and you can rent out kayaks, paddle boards and canoes. The temperature is about 20 degrees cooler here than the town going into Zion National Park. They have porta potties and vault toilets. No running water. I rented out a gas fire pit since you can’t have any open fires which was convenient. Also, there’s tons of hiking areas not too far away. They do have satellite there so if you need to reach people, you’re able to do so through Wi-Fi. Met the host who was super nice and resourceful. He recommended a view point which I visited the morning before I lefWill definitely come back.

Amazing place for camping. Beautiful lake and decent fishing. Can get a bit chilly at the high altitude of over 8k ft. Site 20 is the best spot near the entrance with access to internet if you need it. 10 out of 10 I recommend.

We had a great time! Beautiful views, fishing, crawfish, fresh air, cool weather. Norm is fantastic! The kindest, friendliest, happiest most helpful host! However, the camp sites are close together and you hear everything. Bring ear plugs we heard snoring and the neighbors talking about who they thought it was in the morning. Lol! We will be coming back for sure!

It was very dusty… I think some chat or gravel on the site would have helped to really keep the dirt down. It made tent camping hard because the wind blew for two days straight. In an RV, I don’t know that the dust would have been quite as much an issue. I didn’t love that we were right next to the porta-potties either. It made for a lot of foot traffic next to our tents. It was a beautiful view and the site was nice. It could have used some brush cleanup to make it a little bigger. Overall it was a nice area and campsite.
