Slept here for one evening and it was great. Follow the instructions exactly and you should have no problem finding the space. Very private, great place to bird watch.

Just as advertised…the spot is well away from the owner’s house and private in a plains environment with an area cleared to camp and a small fire pit. It was a good stopover spot near Lubbock. I had good cell service and a cozy night in my car.

Besides being out away from people and having open space, Shaun provided firewood to have a nice fire. That was a welcome surprise! It was a nice open space to enjoy the evening. It was nice to also hear the coyotes doing their things as well. I recommend it for a nice easy stay.

Shaun was so warm and accommodating via message. Very beautiful and simple spot. I felt very comfortable and also still connected to the outside world if needed. As a solo female camper, it was a great spot to know you had someone close by just in case. The sunset and sunrise were magnificent.

This is the third time I’ve stayed here and it has everything I need. No water no toilet no people, just a gorgeous view as far as the eye can see. I set the back of my pickup truck with a blowup mattress and it’s perfect. I’m a single dad with two kids at Texas Tech so financially, it’s the perfect place for me to spend the night.
That and I’ve always despised hotels or motels.
I’ll be back, of course!

We’ve missed the South Plains Sunrise and Sunset’s. We were able to tent camp! Shaun gave us very precise directions! Very secluded and primitive. Perfect for boondocking/overlanding especially if you are just starting out and want to try it close to home! We would definitely stay again!

Easy access, nice and quiet without feeling super-remote from town. Great directions (guns up! TT) and very accommodating host for a last-minute booking. True to its name, there was indeed a beautiful sunrise!

I am a simple guy with two kids at Texas Tech and I despise hotels and the money they charge! This is the second time I’ve used Shaun’s land and it is perfect for me. I have a blowup mattress and I sleep in the back of my truck with campfire and it is glorious. There’s no bathroom so plan accordingly. The nighttime
sky is incredible. I will be back in the fall.

I felt very safe here as a solo female car camper. It’s a very simple no frills spot, perfect for passing through. The sunrise was beautiful. Shaun provides much needed directions as maps just stops in front of house and doesn’t direct you which way to turn from there. Shaun is kind and very quick to respond.

We got into camp very late, but finding the site in the dark was no problem, as Shaun had given us excellent directions several days in advance. Very quiet and serene. Great spot. Close to town, but not too close.

Great place to stop over, having plenty of space for a toddler and dog. There were a lot of sharp poky plant pieces, they got stuck in our shoes, and kept my dog from walking around much, but otherwise everything was good, just wish I had brought firewood.

It was what I expected. We needed a guaranteed place to spend the night, on the way to Santa Fe, that was safe and that’s what we got. Looking at it on the Hip Camp app, I felt like I knew what to expect. Shaun was very nice and helpful as we texted back and forth. We ended up getting there at midnight, which was much later than we had planned on, so we were there for less than 12 hours. For my tastes, it’s not a place I’d stay just for the fun of it, but it served it’s purpose for us.

Our host, Shaun, was very communicative and clear with providing instructions to the site and making sure we had everything. Although, the campsite is on a residential property, the acreage between and around you provides more than enough privacy and isolation. It was extremely private and serene. The fire pit, seating area, and the bucket were awesome accommodations for us dry camping. Also, the price is unbeatable, and we ended up staying a couple of extra days.
