We loved our weekend spent out at Gunters! It was a lovely little getaway cove just far enough away, but close enough to everything. We will be back!!!

Overall we had a good experience! The location was awesome and very close to water and so many fun activities in the area. Very shady all day long!
If you're looking for a more "Backcountry type privacy" keep looking. This site is a wooded lot in neighborhood. It was closer to neighbors than we got the impression from the listing pics, and was full of old parked campers/RV's and boats which lended to a different camping feel. Gunter is a friendly and accommodating host, just know that He lives in his camper on the campsite lot, though He was respectful of our space for the weekend.
There is easy access to Williams Creek canal that merges with Lake LBJ. The canal access from the camping site is pretty shallow and mucky but we were still able to paddle board along it into deeper areas and enjoy the water! Gunter also had a hose so we could rinse off our boards etc.
We are very self sufficient campers and prefer our own set up .... But It was nice to have a porta potty, just bring your own TP and a light! There is also a fire ring with chairs and a grill and non-potable water on site.

Stayed here 2x and love it! Nice and private, spacious plot of land, close by Inks Lake State Park and the lake. Site includes fire pit, chairs, firewood, grill, picnic table, and porta potty.
Gunter is a great host. Both times, he checked in on me when I arrived and in the evening. Making sure everything is going ok and what not. Gunter's property includes a small open air kitchenette along with 2 kayaks and a stand up paddleboard, all of which were offered to me to use.
Great place to stay in you want a more private campsite in the area than other options!

This was a great spot for our small group! Gunter is an awesome host, met us at check in and gave us a tour of the property, which has a lot of thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. Very easy to message and get a hold of too. It was so peaceful in the morning under the trees, lots of birdsong, but very close to groceries, restaurants, and of course lake lbj! I recommend for a nice, private camping experience!

Gunter was very attentive and made us feel at home. He let us use his cozy, nicely decorated kitchen so that we could cook and dine inside. Also, the provided portable restroom was clean and useful during our stay.

Lovely fully shaded spot tucked into a neighborhood. We boondocked our class C rv for a night and had plenty of room to set up and walk the dog around. Nice pad and comfy chairs around the fire pit. Really enjoyed the peace and the birds, and all you can eat pecans. Thanks Gunter, we’ll be back!

Gunter offers an incredible acre getaway with unique spaces that make your eyes light up with excitement. He brings great care and thoughtfulness in how he’s built (and continue to expand) his site. We can’t wait to come back!

This secret oasis is a wonderful place to camp. Gunther has created a wonderful little quiet haven surrounded by natural vegetation right on the water! We love to paddle board and enjoyed being able to paddle up the canal from the back of the campsite all the way to LBJ Lake on the Colorado River! You start off on a private canal surrounded by nature and have tons of cool things to see before getting it in the much windier and bumpy Colorado River.
There is so much to do near to this location that you could easily spend a week. In addition to all of the other things that have already been mentioned, we had a really fun day at Spider Mountain Mountain Bike Park which is only 20 minutes away.
Gunther is a wonderful host. He stopped by several times to make sure we had everything we needed. He even gave us firewood (nice mesquite and cedar) so we enjoyed a wonderful campfire while relaxing in the comfortable Adirondack chairs he provides. He also has a couple nice kayaks and a paddle board that he offered for our use.

I wanted to visit the Marble Falls area and couldn’t find any desirable and available RV park. This was our first Hipcamp experience. I had no trouble finding an availability. I loved not being on a concrete slab stacked with other campers. It was a scenic spot with a creek running by that will take you to the open lake by kayak or jet ski.. Our host provided much more than promised.
It is near the town and there are some nearby residential properties. We took our electric bikes to town and enjoyed live music, beer and food.
Overall it was a great weekend for a great price. Don’t expect a resort experOnce and you will be happy.

Very nice large and flat campsite equipped with a fire pit, 4 chairs, a picnic table, and outhouse. The location is tucked in a small neighborhood along the lake, but it was still quiet and peaceful.
Gunter is a very friendly host and kindly covered the food/items we left out with a tarp when it rained while we were out hiking.

Gunter was a very gracious and helpful host! The area was very pleasant and shaded. We had access to the water right on the property and loved paddleboarding in the channel. We were able to hook our trailer to city water, there was a nice firepit and grill, and we had a ton of space. We easily couldve fit a large party with more cars and people. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Our stay here was peaceful and comfortable. The property was secluded with fishing just feet from our campsite. Campsite was clean and spacious with beautiful scenery. A+ for customer satisfaction with also amenities included such as kayaking, jet ski’s, outdoor movie theater, clean bathroom, fire pit and seating as well as a grill to cookout. Highly recommend this campsite as a must go as it offers so many destinations within minutes drive.
