Brain and his team are awesome hosts. Go out of the way to create a great stay at their site. They host lots of fun activities for the Brazzo from shuttles to tubing or kayaks. Campgrounds are rustic but accommodating. Great base for river activities and local parks and activities.
Note of importance: It is important to understand that this is a working daytime outdoor center. People utilize the grounds for daily pass usage and it gets quite crowded. However, at 7 PM they are all gone and it is just the overnight folks. One last thing it is situated on the Brazzos river underneath a majestic bridge however the bridge is highway 67 so there is truck and car traffic noise. Does calm down at night.
We had a great time on our stay.

It was the site that we could get, and it was adequate. Not the best stretch of the Brazos, and being right next to the busy highway was (predictably) noisy.

As a camper there were more day visitors than I expected but nice place. I’d camp again but during the tubing season though I like tubing.

First..upon arrival were met by the Mrs Brian. She was very cold and a bit Rude. After our 1st night we were confronted by Brian with things like" Clean up this shit hole!" Mind you this was early in the day. We'd taken the kiddos to swim and we're enjoying a little down time. We were on a vacation. Not sure what kind of problems host had personally but I don't know of any person I will ever allow to cuss at me or my family. I asked him not to cuss and he said a few other uncalled for things.
Came by again in about 5 minutes yelling telling us to leave( had paid till the next day ) we were appalled at such hateful behavior from someone that chose to provide an otherwise good camping spot. I've never had such a bad experience. If a person has no people skills and only wants to control or belittle people then I don't believe he's in the right business. There are Alot of ways to request cooperation. Not sure this guy knows about that OR how to treat people who are taking their kids on a first time camping trip. Our boys and ourselves we're not treated with any respect or kindness perhaps Brian needs to shut down in favor of ALONE time.
This place gets NO stars from this family!!!!

treated unkind and felt unwelcome from the checkin gate. my mother was told to clean up the shit hole we called our camp site. left a day eairly bc my mom was so offended she is pushing 80 and said she never felt more disrespected in her life

Brazos Outdoor Center
Great area, clean and well kept. Still under construction at the moment but we enjoyed staying there. The noise on the bridge did not bother us one bit. Star was very friendly.

We loved this place. Brian and Lisa are awesome. Everything was perfect. We spent 5 days there. Took our whole family. Camped at the site by the river. Can’t wait to go back again

What an adventure (both good and bad)! The first night was absolutely AMAZING. We had the entire tent area to ourselves, a great site near the water, and the weather was beautiful. However, the second night, every campsite was occupied and neighbors were all within 5–10ft away. At night, intense thunderstorms rolled through with winds that collapsed tents and blew everyone’s things all over the campground and intense rain that caused flooding. Most people ended up leaving and we were a part of that group because our tent couldn’t compete with the conditions. We lost 2 days on our reservation because of the crazy thunderstorms...they lasted all night and the following day. Such a bummer!

Camping by the river was great camping by the bridge not so great but I knew what I signed up for! Access to the river was 15 feet down the slope you could play in the shallow waters with Sandy bottoms for hours on end and just explore and discover it was great family fun. The facilities provide you a fire ring which establishes your primitive tent area and then you use a porta potty and a water hose for water, but that’s camping no complaints!

Staying at Brazos outdoor center was a dream, camped right by the river and rented a canoe for a day on the river playing and laying on the lil beaches dotted all along the river bed, looking at the full moon late at night down by the water and making s’mores over an open flame while the frogs and owls serenaded us to sleep, Brian and Lisa were amazing hosts and keep the place very well kept and are very accommodating, am definitely going to be goong back with a big group of friends

Pulling up to the site I found a very crowded bank of the Brazos already filled with campers. The fire pit was filled with half burnt beer cans amongst other garbage from a previous guest. The view was beautiful with easy access to the river, but our visit was cut short after the party staying to our left was up until four in the morning blaring music, and being very loud and inconsiderate. There was no management to quiet the rowdy group, and was left to ask them to be quiet on my own. If management and space were better done this would be a fantastic place to stay.

There were some good things and some things for which I didn’t care.
The good:
- hosts were great
- location was great (especially the access to the river)
- easy to find
- river access was awesome. We had a blast playing in the river for 3 days.
The not so good:
- I’m used to camping in places where people are quiet around 10pm and are respectful of those around them. This is not that place.
- 2 of our 3 nights there we witnessed arguments by drunk people with people screaming cuss words with children (mine included) who could hear.
- this seems like a spot to party rather than to enjoy the outdoors.
- We were surrounded by more people than expected

The camp was clean, new, and they are adding some nice features. The water access was nice. The area is a little loud due to the highway being so close. We were only there for the weekend, but I know there are lots of things to do in the area.

This site is on a beautiful section of the Brazos River. It’s clean and the hosts are very friendly and helpful.
That dang bridge, though! We enjoyed our stay overall but I have to say we weren’t expecting to have trouble hearing each other due to the highway noise... which was non-stop. We got a few moments of maybe 20 seconds where we actually felt like we had successfully escaped busy civilization. But each one was promptly ended by another 18-wheeler or big group of cars going over the bridge.

My family loved the camping trip. Brian and Lisa were so nice and helpful! The place is secluded and well kept! The Brazos was within walking distance and the site was within a couple of miles of the other area attractions! As the site gets more updated more people are going to know about this hidden gem!!

First, let me preface that Brian and his wife were accommodating and respectful people, and I very much appreciated that. However, this was not what I was looking for at all.
First, the property is fairly small to begin with, and it has the primitive sites all cramped in together with almost no space between them.
Secondly, the site states there is highway noise, which is for sure there, but makes no mention of the fact that they do not monitor or enforce the advertised 10pm quiet period. By 11pm I still had drunken country music karaoke on one side of me, and a amazingly loud generator running on the other with the family shouting over it the entire time.
This is not a get away from the city to enjoy nature type of a place, it was party central apparently. When I called to report this issue at 11pm, my call was rejected the first time, and then I was complained TO about how late it was and that THEY were trying to sleep. 15 minutes later the music quieted down, but I had to call in again about the generator, but by that time I was over it and choose to leave, knowing I wouldn't get home till about 1. Brian did offer me to stay the night for free, but I chose not to.
I was told that they would refund my money, which I assume is being returned, but hasn't posted yet. To their credit, once I went through the trouble and asked them to take care of the issue they did. They were apologetic about the situation, and were accommodating with the refund. However, for me this was a situation where you are more at the mercy of the others who are at the camp, because the owners do not actively manage the property. They force you to complain, then complain to you for complaining, then do something about it...I will not be returning.

I usually stay at Texas State Park which they have a 10:00 P.M. quiet time until morning and they enforce it. Brazos also has a 10:00 quiet time but it is not enforced at all. I will admit I stayed on a holiday weekend and it was non-stop noise just about all night. The campers beside me the first night had a generator going, loud music and as they drank more, got louder and louder. At 10:30 I called the host and they came down - had them turn off the generator and that was it. He left and the music and partying kept on. At 3:00 in the morning it was still going on and guessing they assumed everyone liked the type of music they were playing. The next day when they left there was trash everywhere. Next night they were gone but other campers kept going until all times of the night with the host nowhere to be seen. Sure out of consideration people should reapect others at quiet time but if not the host should step in. Granted a holiday time but doesn't matter to those who are there for some quiet at night. I would not have stayed if I knew there was actually not a quiet time as listed in Hipcamp.

Clean camp, the bridge did not disrupt my sleep one bit. When we were there the river was much too full and swift to get in, however there were plenty of state parks nearby to swim and fish in. I look forward to a visit back when the river is lower.

Went on Memorial Day weekend and it was packed! The hosts were hospitable and knowledgeable! The only critique I would make is that it is a narrow entrance to the river. Great spot, will be back for sure!

We arrived around 4pm and got a great camp site with a fire pit and trash can. I was pleasantly surprised with the porta potties and how clean and new they looked. You can see the pride that the owner takes in his property. It's very well maintained and we will definitely be back.

Had a great time here, hosts we're very friendly and place was well kept. Clean porta johns that were well taken care of. Didn't try the outdoor shower so can't say anything on that. Trash was changed frequently so no smells to deal with. Host even showed us how to use the telescope at the entrance and showed the kids some fossils that were found on the property. Great time and we look forward to returning.

This campground is located under Highway 67. Very loud and not ideal if you are expecting a quiet spot on the river. However, they also rent canoes and kayaks, and it’s a great starting point to float the Brazos.

Great little spot right on the Brazos! If you’re tent camping, and are light sleepers I wouldn’t recommend, as it is right next to a very busy bridge. Brian and his wife were extremely welcoming and helpful. Location was surprisingly pretty with the water up on the river. I’d definitely recommend coming here for a night or two and will definitely be back!
