Flat cropping and grazing property with a rise up at the Eastern end where a native forest and scrub exists. There are two creek lines joining to make a single stream with four dams also on the property. Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. There are no facilities, so campers must be 100% self-contained, taking all waste and rubbish with them when they leave.

Great views easy camping

Great camp close to all the wineries great for the dogs as we had the camp to ourselves. Amazing views and sunsets.

Loved staying here! Very private camp spaces with no one else staying anywhere near us which we appreciated & the very kind Linda came to greet us when we arrived. Right in the heart of wineries and cellar doors within walking distance !

Forest Site

The Heart of the Barrossa!

We really enjoyed the peace and tranquility at Forest Site not to mention the wonderful location right in the heart of the Barrossa! Linda is a terrific host, checking in to introduce herself and even dropping off hot cross buns to us on Easter Sunday. It was so lovely watching the beautiful sunsets each evening.

Excellent location to explore the region. Several wineries within walking distance from the property. Tanunda town is a short drive away with restaurants and shops. Plenty of space and beautiful surroundings. We couldn’t find a spot out of the wind and the second night it was very windy.
