Cute, cozy, never coming back
We enjoyed the setting - the cabin is cute, cozy, and tucked into beautiful woods with a fire pit and gorgeous creek. The host was friendly on arrival, however multiple issues made the stay disappointing and not worth the $350 we paid for two nights. The host seemed unprepared: the water tank was nearly empty and we were shown how to fill it instead of it being pre-filled. Inside, an overwhelming smell of cologne we couldn’t escape, covered every surface. Which made eating food in the cabin nauseating. There is a Keurig coffee maker, but no k-cups to be found. The small bathroom was cluttered with useless personal items, but had no soap or shampoo, and only two rolls of toilet paper; the toilet produced a faint sulfur odor. After showering one night we almost stepped on an “American Giant Millipede” in the kitchen. Large gaps under exterior doors let pests in but there is a floor mat you can jam under it. The bedroom area was messy and felt unclean. No proper covers, scattered books and pillows, and sheets with visible smudges. We were told firewood was being delivered the next day but, with no cell service, arranging delivery wasn't practical and we opted out of having our only full day interrupted by a stranger. Finally, a bird we were warned of previously covered my vehicle doors and handles with droppings and caused new scratches.
If the host was better prepared, supplies basics and TP, deep-cleans bedding, seals gaps, and addresses the bird, this could be much better.
