Whisper Canyon Ranch is a 70 acre guest ranched tucked deep in the mountains of Souther Oregon’s Illinois Valley. Just four miles from Selma, it’s remote but also easy to access. We are surrounded by BLM land, only a mile from Lake Selmac, 5 miles from the Illinois River, 45 minutes from the Oregon Caves and just an hour to the Redwoods. We offer a wide variety of options including Private Van/Tent Camping, Glamping, and Cabin-Stays. We are able to accommodate up to 34 guests in our beautiful cabins and often host weddings, retreats and reunions on the weekends utilizing our Pavilion and cafe space to host these larger events. Whisper Canyon Ranch mixes Nature with Community with Events in the heart of the Illinois River Valley close to Caves, Redwoods, Rivers, Lakes, and Forests. Community and Shared Spaces Include: 🚿 Outdoor Shower – Refreshing rinse with open-air views 💻 Co-Working Space – (Available Monday–Thursday) for remote work and social connection with other travelers 🥏 Putt-Putt Disc Golf Course – Casual, fun course nestled in the trees (ask host for guide & discs!) 🚻 Porta Potty – Clean and maintained regularly for guest use

New to Hipcamp in 2025! 🏕️🚐 Sensei's Roost is a private, cleared space surrounded by trees, up above but nearby to shared amenities and community spaces. At the Roost, you will find a quiet space in nature to yourself, nearby shower & toilet, coworking in 'The Cosmic Cafe' (open Monday-Thursday), Up above the campsite is the headstone where the ashes of my father, Sensei Gary Douglas Eakin (1949 - 2024) were laid to rest. He was a 4th degree blackbelt and a wild and fun guy who gets to keep an eye on the ranch from his roost! Farther up the hill you'll find the Dragon's Lair, a magical place honoring the story of Quan Yin the Goddess of compassion saving the dragon king's son. Groups of 1 to 20 people most ideal with a sliding price scale based on the number of people coming! (if you have a larger group please contact us and we can likely figure something out :D) Private Amenities: 🍽️ Picnic Table – Your own dedicated outdoor dining setup 🌲 Secluded Campsite – Fully surrounded by trees, no other campers in sight 🚐 Drive-Up Access – Park your van or vehicle directly at the site 🛻 Room for up to 5 Vehicles – Fits vans/tents up to 22 ft (Contact directly if you have any questions about your set up!) Sharing the community spaces and amenities are Hipcampers from other listings, cabin rental guests, and often on weekends we host weddings, reunions, and other large group events! Keep in mind that if you are booking on a weekend from May-August, we are likely hosting a wedding and the noise curfew is midnight. The ranch can be rowdy in the summer! Shared Amenities: 🚻 Porta Potty – Clean and maintained regularly for guest use. Available May 1 thru October 15th. During the off season we have other bathroom options. 🚿 Outdoor Shower – Refreshing rinse with open-air views 💻 Co-Working Space – Available Monday–Thursday for remote work and social connection until 8PM (The Cosmic Cafe is closed Friday-Sunday for Weddings/Family Reunions/Events) 🥏 12-hole Putt-Putt Disc Golf Course – Casual, fun course nestled in the trees (ask host for guide/discs!) -Please send us an ETA for when you'll arrive and then we will send you the Gate Code. -Pets on leash - we have 2 dogs that free range the property (Daisy & Dolly) -Good Vibes Only!!

New to Hipcamp in 2025! 🦊✨ The Fox Den is a cozy, semi-sheltered retreat tucked beside a seasonal creek, surrounded by trees and facing miles of undeveloped BLM land. It’s located on the property of Whisper Canyon Ranch, where you'll find a blend of nature, community, and creative energy. At the Den, you’ll sleep inside a three-walled wooden structure with a roof and solar lighting. Nestled within is a blue pop-up cube tent outfitted with a queen bed, two nightstands, and rugs for extra comfort. The space is fenced on both sides for privacy and opens up to forest views — perfect for solo travelers or couples seeking quiet, grounded time in nature. A perfect van camping spot! Secluded, forested, and super quiet with just enough amenities. The hosts were friendly and greeted us but at Sensei’s Roost it feels like you’re miles from anyone. We loved the outdoor showers, super clean portapotty (with handwashing station!) and the beautiful grounds.

Sensei's Roost: Private Camping
We camped on Sensei's roost. It was lovely, quiet and spacious. Good access to water, and charging of lithium battery. But the standout activities were swimming in the pool, playing pool in the Cosmic Cafe, and having great outdoor showers during a very hot 4 days. The hosts were available, but respected our privacy. Highly recommend this relaxing place.

The Fox Den
First off, the pictures do not do this property justice. Everything about the land was simply beautiful. Plenty of space to roam around and enjoy the beautiful outdoors, but also enough to feel like you're at a premium campsite. Beth's cafe is a super gem for those who need to get work done while away; also had plenty to be able to cook a full course meal within the cafe in my opinion like pots and pans and whatnot. In addition, there is a little store on the property where you check-in that has small little snacks and souvenir-like items. Overall, would def recommend checking anyone of the sites on this property.

We had the Sensei's Roost camp site. It was huge and SO private. The whole ranch was awesome. We definitely come back again and again.

This camping spot is a lovely location - large, flat, lots of room, perched on a hill above a charming property. We really enjoyed our stay, and our kids loved the tree swing!

This place is amazing! Probably one of the best Hipcamps I have ever stayed at. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks to Beth and her husband for hosting me and Caleb for showing me around (and even playing a round of disc golf with me)

This property is absolutely magical. The land is beautiful and well cared for. There were so many nice touches, like the fairy lights that made Sensei’s roost so peaceful at night. I had everything I needed and then some. Cannot get over the incredible outdoor shower set up, complete with windows you can swing open to look into the forest while you clean up. Having access to the clubhouse with the pool table, tv, WiFi and pin pong was great to have, too. The owners were welcoming and exceptionally kind, you can tell their heart is really in this place. Oh, and a swimming pool?! Can’t go wrong here. Will absolutely stay again and go wander in the woods, what a reprieve. 10/10 recommend!

Beth and Brian are awesome and the Sensei’s Roost is a beautiful spot surrounded by trees bordering BLM. You’re still not far from the outdoor shower and toilet and the community spaces are amazing! 10/10

Definitely a Hidden Gem! Sensei’s roost is so peaceful and private, but close to communal spaces and amenities. The hosts are super nice, and a deer came right through the campsite one morning - super cool. Raw, private nature - but close to good vibes!

Perfect spot - I was looking for a place to camp with my livestock to help break up a long drive. I was able to stake out my llamas and have a very quiet, safe, and private place to sleep. Safety is importantly as a woman traveling alone. Beth, the host, is upbeat, gracious and a delightful person. She very patiently communicate to help me find the site and greeted me warmly despite my late arrival. The Ranch has a western and rustic feel, with tastefully updated cabin and bunkhouse nearby. I had a blissful and quiet night’s rest; the only sounds were owls and the rustling of deer walking through the woods. I’ll be back! Thank you!
