Tom and Tami were super kind when we (myself and my two young boys) arrived just after dark - walked over shortly after we pulled in to make sure we had everything we needed! The tent area is flat enough, but there are some rocks to watch out for and a ton of low vegetation, at least when we were there mid-Sept. So be prepared for that.

I didn't get to meet Tom in person, but via the app, Tom was friendly and communicative. Sleeping in my car, his land worked great for my needs; it was flat, safe, and peaceful. I found the experience of staying on Tom's land a good value.

This was a great spot to set up camp for the night. Tom was wonderful and the views beautiful. It can be a bit noisy from the road but quiets down. Thanks for letting me stay on your place!!! Definitely stop by on my next roadtrip.

It was a good and safe place to stop overnight. The host was friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. There wasn’t a ton of shade, but enough for us. The moonrise was beautiful!

Great place to stay! Port-a-potty was very clean and tons of space for tents. The tent area also had trees where one could hammock but lots of sap on them.. Some reviews said the road was loud but it seems to calm down at night, I was not woken up once. Close to food and stores

This place was great! We rolled in around 8:00 pm and had a very peaceful, quiet evening. It was clean and safe. If I'm ever driving through Hines, OR and need a place to crash it will be Tom's Land.

Overall, we had a nice night of camping. I do not understand why Hipcamp is telling me that by not choosing the top most positive rating that I am giving this place a "low rating." This place was just fine. I did not realize that it was basically right in town, and the neighboring construction business and gas station were a bit noisy, but tolerable. The camp hostess, Dorothea was friendly and attentive, and the porta-potty was immaculately clean. I did appreciate being able to pull off of the gravel into the woodchips in the tent camping area. Note to Tom- maybe call that a tent and car camping area. We have a truck with a pop-up rooftop tent, so designating it as both would maybe expand your market share. This is a great option if you are passing thru and want a quick stop right off of the main drag. We did enjoy the views, and went further up the road to hunt for obsidian and see wild horses before leaving the area.

The two things I really look for is the following - 1. Is it clean? 2. Is it safe?
This meets both criteria. The camp hosts were extremely pleasant and it was nice having clean bathrooms to use while staying. There was plenty of open space and situated on the top of the hill with excellent views.

The sites are clean and well managed. The porta-potty was very clean. This is an RV park, and the tent sites do have quite a few thistles, but the view is great. Again, Tom was lovely to work with, and we would stay here again.

Tom's land is great spot for a big RV just outside of Burns. Super clean non smelly outhouse. It was very windy and chilly so couldn't enjoy a fire. It had been blowing all day throughout Eastern Oregon. This type of site is not our cup of tea but I can see how those with large RV's would love it.

Toms place had all I needed, great view, great people. They were very accomodating, and I would go back there in a second. Heard that it fills up with birdwatchers in season, so I was lucky to have almost no one around when I was there early April.

We did not show because of the flooding. I had a message from Tom on the hip camp website, prior to our arrival. I was unable to respond on the website and opted not to come. Regeresting on the hipcsmp was a big chore and was never sure I had a site I would to stay with Tom but there is no way to communicate except via the hip camp website which I will nw=ever again open. Please remove mr from your database

Great place to tent camp or RV camp in Hines, OR if you’re passing through. The porta potty was clean and there is access to potable water and garbage. Fantastic stay on two separate visits.

Convenient Campsite

Location perfect for daily forays to Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Thousands of visiting Snow Geese rested in the fields across the highway.
Bathroom was very clean, looked new. Camp spot was level, and since it was high up above the main roadway, there was little noise.
