We drove out to the site, it was scenic and beautiful. We had two vehicles, a Chevy Cruz and a Ford Edge. There was about a 3 mile gravel road to get to the turn off which wasn’t a problem but once we arrived at the turn off the road was a dirt road that was lightly rutted and had quite a bit of underbrush, unless you have quite a bit of clearance you won’t make it. Not to mention it scratching up your car. Thankfully the scratches were only superficial. We did not end up camping here as the Cruz bottomed out almost as soon as we started down the dirt road, and the Edge was definitely getting banged up on the undercarriage. We were a bit disappointed, but ended up finding a more suitable spot closer to town that wasn’t so rough on our vehicles.

This site was so remote feeling. The silence was amazing, and a great place for stargazing, if not cloudy.

This spot was everything I had hoped for! The spot is private, off the road nestled in the sage brush! The star gazing is out of this world!

LOVED! if you’re into privacy and amazing desert scenery don’t even question just book. no one around for miles and the sound of cows in the distance. so fun will be back!

This spot was exactly as advertised. We loved it! I understand that our host Joseph is the new owner of this beautiful untouched patch of oregon high desert. The site and accomodations will evolve. It was a flat piece of desert earth on a fence line with nothing but brush and sage as far as the eye can see. And that's it. And the STARS!!! We were also incredibly lucky to be out there while Comet Neowise was clearly visible in the northwest sky just after a spectacular sunset. We could hear a family of coyotes about 100 yards away but we left each other alone. We saw a few other little desert critters and I wouldn't leave your shoes outside the tent at night. Its nature. Be prepared and be smart.
We drove in in a basic 4 door sedan and had some trepidation about the road condition and possibly sustaining some damage. The sounds of the thorny brush under the car were concerning but we made it and the car seems fine. It is a rough road but its flat and as long as it is dry, anyone could make it... Trucks and higher clearance maybe recommended.
It was a great place to pitch a tent for a night and if you really want to get away from it all, I can imagine a few nights out there could really help you reset.
There is Nothing out there so you need to be prepared to pack out all of your waste. Leave NO trace. And enjoy this incredible patch right on the edge of heaven!!
