Welcome to Squared Roots Farm, a Garlic Farm and homestead in Alsea, Oregon. We specialize in gourmet hardneck garlic and sustainable farming practices. (IG @squaredrootsfarm) On our farm we grow veggies and flowers. We raise Nigerian dwarf goats, chickens, and honey bees. You will be staying in a 16ft Pacific yurt built on raised deck that has a covered deck for shade and rainy days. There is plenty of space for additional tents and RV campers to join! There is a fire pit, picnic table, full propane grill and composting toilet. There is also a wonderful warm wood stove for staying cozy! You can swim in the creek right next to the site or walk over to the North Fork of the Alsea River where there is 1/2 mile of river access and great winter steelhead fishing too. Close to the farm is world class mountain biking, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, great views, and surfing on the Oregon coast. The camp spot is a very private grassy nook nestled next to Honey Grove Creek. There are nature trails on the property with blackberry bushes. We offer farm fresh eggs, firewood bundles, and as the garden begins to ramp up- we will offer all the veggies to campers including goat cheese! We can do cash or Venmo payments. You will want to consider bringing the following... Inside the yurt, there is a private nook with a queen-sized bed. Sheets, pillows and comforter are provided for the queen bed. There is also a couch that folds out into a full size bed- byo bedding/ sleeping bags for the full bed. A small table is on the other side that is perfect for playing cards or eating breakfast. Outside is a 80 square foot deck. This is a great place for a family of 4 or two couples.  Not far from the yurt is a fire pit, picnic table and composting toilet. Larger parties can enjoy plenty of room for tent camping.  There are a couple of swimming holes in Honey Grove creek or walk over to the North Fork of the Alsea River where there is 1/2 mile of river access and great winter steelhead fishing too. There are nature trails on the property with blackberry bushes. We offer farm fresh eggs for $5 and firewood bundles for $5. As the garden begins to ramp up- we will offer all the veggies to campers!

We had such a great time camping and staying in the yurt on Jeremy and Dana's land. The yurt is at the back of the property, near a creek and feels private.

Fantastic! We booked last minute and arrived after dark. We had such a comfortable stay, and were in awe of the creek right behind us in the morning light. The bed is incredibly comfy, and we were perfectly comfortable. This place is moments from mine and my kid's favorite place to go catch crawdads. I would absolutely book again.

Our stay at Jeremy and Dana’s place was outstanding! The yurt was super cute and clean, very comfortable bed, and nice deck. The property, the views, and the peacefulness were even better! We walked to the river, enjoyed the sound of the creek behind the yurt, had fires in the fire pit and absolutely loved our stay. Will definitely be back!

What a perfect place to enjoy a beautiful grassy meadow and small stream. We had a camp fire and enjoyed a long walk along the Alsea River in the moring. We loved the goats and bought some damn good garlic. We will be back!

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for in our group gathering. Having the creek behind the yurt balanced out the hot, direct sun in afternoons and no bugs at night was excellent. Our host was welcoming and accommodating and helped us thoroughly enjoy our time

Such a great stay!! The yurt was very secluded right next to the creek. Our pups had the BEST time being able to be off-leash without worry. I was initially worried the farm animals would be close by (and one of our dogs is a herding dog who I wouldn’t trust lol), but they were far enough away that we were worry free! We were able to visit them though, the goats were SO cute and friendly. The bed was seriously SO comfortable, I had to take a picture of the mattress before we left! The composting outhouse was super clean. The whole property was just amazing and we had the best time! Also super close to Alsea for some great hiking and mountain biking. We will certainly come back!

Another wonderfully relaxing weekend at Yurt by the Creek! Our sensitive doggo loves it here and is so excited to visit the goats and pigs each time we come. We love the quiet, private area to relax, go for a splash in the stream and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Dana is welcoming and great to communicate with, and leaves us to do our thing. The super clean outhouse also deserves a mention!

such a sweet and beautiful little space! dana and jeremy were very friendly; provided lots of information pre-check-in and made things as smooth as possible. the baby goats are a super adorable plus! so nice relaxing by the fire as the sun sets, listening to the trickle of the creek as you fall asleep. stars are UNREAL, made the little jaunt to the outhouse oooooh sooooo worth it! the bed is also SO comfortable (disclaimer: had been sleeping on a sleeping pad in a sleeping bag for a 1.5 weeks, but was STOKED that their bed was the first one i slept in again). and i learned a lot about garlic! got some inspiration for future garlic farming adventures...?!?!? we will definitely be coming back! thank you so much for hosting us :)

The yurt was exactly what we were looking for. Jeremy and Dana were helpful and extremely gracious hosts. We loved the privacy and proximity to the soothing sounds of the creek during the evening. We also stayed warm and cozy and enjoyed meeting all the animals. They even notified us when the goats had babies so my daughter could see them before we left. Also, the composting toilet was easy to use and clean, even for a 5 yr old… Thank you, we truly appreciated the hospitality - we’ll be back!

Little piece of heaven on earth. Private location situated away from the primary residence. Adorable yurt with wood stove, covered deck, sitting and dining area. The bed is situated against the wall so the creek soothes you to sleep. Cute commode to do your daily business situated close to yurt for convenience. No odor!!! Fire pit with cooking grate and handmade wood log benches to sit on. Walking distance to fish the Alsea River for steelhead. We camped in 30 degree weather so did not cavort with the darling farm babies, unfortunately. Morning fog and blue herons, flock of geese, and abundant birds greeted us in the mornings. Serene, open field with hillside backdrop for the setting. Definitely want to return during warmer weather.

Absolutely perfect stay! Yurt was comfy. Walking around the property was so nice and serene. Very quiet area. Host was very accommodating and great to chat with. Had a clear night and was able to star gaze and see the comet! Will definitely stay again.

Perfect forest and river getaway

Epic views, remote and peaceful. We floated the river, putting in at the start of their property and getting out at the end and hiking back. Skies were completely clear for perfect star gazing experience. Yurt is nice to have but we love that we can also bring our own bed with us (RV). Will come back over and over.

Our family enjoyed camping with Squared Roots Farm. Jeremy and Dana were very welcoming! The yurt was perfect with its wood stove for the the cooler weather at night. The area gets all of the evening sun which was perfect for setting up a blanket and watching the sunset. Our two dogs ran themselves tired in the large grass field available to them. Our four year old loved feeding the goats! She also thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use a composting toilet (which smelled amazingly of cedar). We stargazed, did some nighttime photography, and explored the trails on the farm and near Alsea. The area is beautiful. If you have dogs that need and love to run free, this was a great place for that.

A lovely site! Yurt was adorable and as described. The bed was really comfy and the foldout bed wasn't too shabby either. The sweet creek right next to the yurt was so meditative, and the view of the meadow and the surrounding hills from the covered porch was hard to beat. It wasn't a terribly cold night, and the little wood stove kept us toasty as we needed to be. Note to visitors: you'll want to get wood from the owners because the wood stove is tiny and can only take small pieces. The outhouse was pristine and inviting. Overall a delightful visit and highly recommended!

Super nice place. Private. Yurt was very clean host had wood and fresh eggs waiting for us. Yurt has a cute Lil wood stove lighting and phone charger. Comfy bed fold out couch table chairs. If ur a birder lots here. My sister into that and she saw birds here she hadn't seen before. Will go back after I check out more hipcamps this was my 1st one and dug it. Have already recommend to my friends. ✌

Peaceful and tranquil stay. The sound of the creek was relaxing and our dogs had so much fun. We loved listening to the woodpecker, thrush, finch, waxwing, and song sparrow during the day and the great horned owl at night. This is very close to Mary’s peak and the Alsea river. The stars are wonderful and blackberries delicious. It does get a bit warm in the day so be prepared with ideas and activities to cool off :).

This was the best camping/glamping experience we've ever had! Such a beautiful pastoral scenery and a calming atmosphere, surrounded by mountains, forest and a little creek. We were stargazing at night and that was such a beautiful experience. Goats are so adorable, definitely go say hi to them! As well as a naughty Penny the Pig! Our dog was so happy to meet all of them! Also definitely get some farm goods - fresh farm eggs are so good and a garlic powder is the best! The yurt itself is super clean and cozy, with a real bed and a little wood burning stove! It sits right by the creek and doesn't get hot in the morning. All the details are thought through, I really wish we could stay longer!

What a treasure! Easy to find. The yurt was so cute and very clean. As odd as it sounds, the outhouse was even a nice touch. The creek was beautiful. The stars were amazing. But the very BEST were the owners. They were very welcoming and kind. We got to pet their goats, dogs, and even Penny the Pig! The garlic smells divine. The garden was adorable!
