We loved camping on Heidi's land! My husband, who is not a lover of camping, kept saying if this is the kind of spot I wanted to take him camping, then we could do a lot more of it. The spot is private, a short walk from where you park your car, and so peaceful. Even on a weekend with a heat advisory, we didn't get too hot because the trees provided wonderful shade. We loved it and plan on going back!

We loved every second of camping on this magical property! It has everything we needed, large grassy area under beautiful oak trees, a great gazebo, lovely lake to boat around, and complete privacy. It was perfect!

We’ve been coming here every year for a while now, and I’m still struck every time with how peaceful and beautiful it is here. This site is such a gem. If you need your car next to you camping it may not be for you, but if not you can’t beat the scenery and privacy.

Fantastic spot, beautiful and very private. Bullfrogs were no joke in mid-June, I had earplugs though so was able to sleep well anyway.

This site was nothing short of extraordinary. The hosts went above and beyond—everything was thoughtfully prepared, making my stay not only seamless but genuinely memorable. As I make my way up the U.S. West Coast, this was my final stop before Portland, and without a doubt, the most breathtakingly beautiful of the journey.
The peaceful chorus of birds and lake life at night added a sense of calm and wonder that’s hard to come by. And the rowboat—charmingly rustic—was an unexpected delight. I had the joy of taking it out with my dog, who was absolutely thrilled to be gliding across the water. A perfect ending to this leg of the adventure.

We had a fantastic stay. Area is huge, lake is completely private, views are beautiful. We caught SO many fish, paddled around and sat by the fire. I’d highly recommend! Host was so attentive and answered all my questions and quickly too! Would definitely come again.

I loved camping here at Luna Lake! It was so peaceful being out all by yourself. The lake was so fun to fish and enjoy the water. The campsite was way bigger than I was expecting. Very well maintained. We will be back.

The campsite is absolutely beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the lake. The site offers great privacy while being easily accessible. The facilities (toilets and hand-washing station) were clean and well-maintained.
The wine (Pinot Noir provided by Heidi) that complemented our dinner, and the starry sky that accompanied our dessert, is a memory that will stay with us for a long time!
A big thank you to Heidi for making this experience so pleasant. We highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway ;)

Awesome place! Secluded and on the water with plenty of space for any activity. Clean portapotties, big space for multiple tents. Had a great time and really enjoyed the property!

The area is very clean and very beautiful! It has a good amount of privacy, and the property owner is very attentive and answered any question I had quickly and thoughtfully.
Sitting next to the lake during sunset is a big highlight. Highly recommend!

The land was gorgeous, and the campsite exactly matched the pictures and description. The host was kind and very helpful and flexible with my arrival time. There was plenty of cell service at the site. My dog loves all the running room. If mosquitoes are an issue for you, my recommendation would be to bring plenty of mosquito repellent as the campsite is next to some standing water. Next time I visit, I’ll be bringing a wagon to transport my camping gear from the car to the campsite to make it a bit easier on myself, but the walk wasn’t unmanageable without it.

My daughter and I camped here for two nights and it was great. The reason I titled it “for a solo camper” is not because it isn’t great for a family, but because if you are a person who wants to camp by themselves and feel safe, this is a great option and I wanted to highlight that. Beautiful setting. Lots of wildlife. As others have mentioned, bring a cart to haul your stuff as it is a little bit of jaunt to parking. The ground is pockmarked by gopher holes, so beware if you aren’t super sure-footed. Bring your own water and hand sanitizer. The little boat is not operational, so if you are excited by seeing that in the photo, you will be a little sad. No bugs while we were there. It is not a far drive from Silverton or Silver Falls SP. Owners were friendly and met us but did not otherwise see them unless we needed something. Will definitely go back!

Loved camping here, the site was nice and private with great views of the lake and wildlife. We saw beavers! The walk to and from the car/bathroom isn’t bad, the ground is pretty uneven though so use caution. There was plenty of room for two small tents and could likely fit more. We didn’t use the gazebo as the weather was nice and we just hung out down by the fire ring, but it would have been great had it rained. Heidi was very accommodating, we had a reactive dog with us and she took care to make sure we didn’t have any uninvited doggy guests at camp. The lake offered a nice spot for the dogs to do a bit of swimming. Would definitely stay here again.

An Idyllic camping spot that we will definitely return to in the future. The lake is beautiful and the campsite is clean and nicely mowed. There’s a beautiful gazebo where we set up our kitchen. Cooking our dinner with a view of that gorgeous lake was a highlight of the trip.

Beautiful, user-friendly, hospitable, clean. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Host Heidi and her family take beautiful care of the property and their guest site. It’s a special place and my husband used the word “serene” about 100 times during our 24 hour stay. Very private, didn’t have to worry about my dog off-leash (who can get a bit reactive/defensive).

This is easily one of the most beautiful campsites I've ever been to. The pictures can't do it justice, no matter the angle. There is so much space, and it's completely private. No camping neighbors, no street noise, and plenty of room to spread out. We set up our tent on a nice flat spot under the trees along the river and watched for the heron, the lake mink, and frogs down by the water around dusk. There's a beautiful gazebo that we would have been happy to be under if the weather was poor, but there was no need. The site is about a 2 min walk from where you park, which is the same area with the TWO clean porta-potties. We didn't pack enough firewood and Heidi was kind enough to drive us down a few more bundles. This is a truly special space we felt lucky to experience and plan on visiting again in the future.

We absolutely loved camping on the vineyard at Luna Lake. Heidi was friendly and helpful when we checked in. We picked up a bottle of their Pinot Noir and settled in to the stunning space by the lake. We saw all kinds of wildlife: herons, geese, ducks, bluejays, tree frogs, caterpillars...It is a walk-in site so we'd recommend bringing a wagon if you have one but it was doable for our group without one. It's truly a magical property and we cant wait to go back when the tasting room is re-opened! Thanks so much for having us Heidi!

Heidi is quick to respond and very sweet. The campsite is absolutely beautiful, well maintained and huge. There were several options for setting up two to three large tents. The cement pad for cooking was such a pleasure to have available. (We brought another table to use as a kitchen counter which I highly advise as the table won’t accommodate much more than eating from.
We had our dogs with us, they could safely roam the oversized campsite without fear. They took an occasional dip in the lake too.
The portable outhouses were well maintained, & a short walk from the campsite. (No smell).
Parking was safe, no need for worry. I recommend a wagon as it is a walk in site.
A couple of things to consider.:
1). Extremely infested with Yellow Jackets, it was horrible around the dog’s food & while cooking or eating, so much so that we thought about packing up and leaving shortly after we set up camp. I recommend bringing a portable gazebo with mosquito netting.
2). Someone close by was shooting gunshots 3 to 4 times each day. This was another consideration for packing up & going home early as our dogs were experiencing high anxiety. Just about the time they calmed down the gun would go off again, from sunrise to sunset
Don’t get me wrong, obviously the good was outweighing the bad as we stayed but I wish I would have been prepared for the yellow jackets. I did love it there but I can’t return w/dogs, it was brutal for them and not worth their suffering.

Incredibly beautiful time spent at this spot. The view of the river was lovey and we enjoyed watching the wildlife from our tent site. We were surprised with a big thunderstorm and we watched the lightning for hours from the gazebo, dry and safe. The rain and complete seclusion was so peaceful. There were some wasps around due to the time of year but owners had traps set up around to help this. Overall a magical spot that we would absolutely return to one day!

We loved our stay at Luna Lake! There is a fire ban on all open flames so we couldn't have a bonfire or cook meals but that was fine by us. We were close enough to plenty of restaurants. The white noise of the crickets and owls at night was very soothing. The rowboat isn't usable at the moment but my kids didn't mind. The walk to the car was quick, under two minutes and my wagon handled the bumps just fine. My kids already have asked when can we go back.

The site is absolutely lovely and the fact that there is only one campsite makes it even better. We watched bats swoop over the pond in the evening while enjoying glasses of wine. We set up out tents near the gazebo and spent our evenings down by the lake around the campfire. It is only a few steps down to the fire ring and pond and there is a place for at least one tent by the fire.
The path between the porta-potties and the campsite takes maybe 5 minutes to walk at the most and despite being older, we did not find it to be a problem. You really not find a more peaceful spot so near the city.j

First time on Hip camp and I wanted somewhere quiet where I could take my dog. With a lot of state parks full I found Heidi's camp. From the beginning we had great text communication. Once I arrived, I was surprised how peaceful it was. Having the whole site to myself on a pristine lake is rare now days. Heidi brough me wood down for the fire pit and a bottle of Chardonnay from the vineyards and I got to watch the sun set over the lake. The stars were amazing and would highly recommend a visit. I will definitely bring my family next time. 10/10
