Wonderful stay! Secluded, had the river to ourselves and Maddie was kind enough to give us a tour of the farm. Thank you for having us!
Beautiful place to camp and fish! You’re a 10 minute drive to Smith Rock for hiking or 30 minutes to the crooked river reservoir. Camp is right in the crooked river which we fished and lounged in which was so nice with the heat. Be aware the camps are lined up right next to each other so it’s not private but we only ever saw the farthest camp occupied so it still felt like it was only us. Would definitely stay again!

It is a beautiful site with good potential but sites need some smoothing out and dog poop cleaned up. We had minimal interaction with John only, certainly could have been more welcoming. Signage also could be improved.
This campground was very peaceful. Great access to the water. I loved the sunshades. The only thing I would recommend anybody would be to bring lots of bug spray. The mosquitoes definitely come out once it gets dark, but it’s 100% worth it.
Awesome site! I had it to myself. Tranquil and beautiful. The shade is great. Stayed at JSM 1, closest to the porta potty but otherwise no different from the others. Beautiful river and felt great to go in!

Very cool spot on a river with a thoughtful host. Be prepared for dust and bugs, but the spot is worth it!
Beautiful camp spot along the Crooked River with quick and supportive communication from the host. We had a late arrival which was accommodated without any issue. Pretty simple setup with a little room for some polish in the middle of an active grazing pasture with a port-a-potty that needed some attention so just keep your kids and dogs aware of the bovine landmines!

Signage from the road to campsites were good, but signage for specific site numbers was very small and hard to find especially at night. More identifiable spots would be helpful.
Very clean, helpful owner/hosts. The site was quiet and pretty next to the creek. Very safe.

The main issue we had was the cost for what the site offered. It’s 100% dry camping which is fine and what we expected per the listing, but the 2 listed amenities offered, a picnic table and shade screen, were not available at our site. only 2 of the 9 camper/rv spots had a picnic table when the listing for every spot stated that each site had a table and shade screen. $50 a night seems a little steep for just a parking spot in someone’s field when the amenities advertised weren’t there.
We would stay stay again, just with different expectations.
We loved staying here! We ended up coming here on instant late night booking! John and Sarah are so kind, answering all of our questions late at night!!! We ended up staying here for two days! The views were beautiful!! We had neighbors but, we couldn’t hear them at all!!! I definitely recommend this spot!

Such a nice hidden gem. Caught a few fish and enjoyed the animals near by. Highly recommend.
We absolutely loved John and Sarah's land! It was a beautiful place to hang out super close to the river. They also have the cutest animals, and you can even get eggs from them! We highly recommend this spot, and will absolutely be back

Was a great spot for the Van and Tent camping. Beautiful sites right by the river. The hosts were responsive and delivered us fresh eggs in the morning. Toilet was cleanly. Beautiful scenery and livestock near to watch. Will be back next year.

Great site! Effortless check-in/check-out. Morning view of the canyon was priceless! Many farm animals on the property along with some guard dogs. Very close to Smith Rock!
Bring ear plugs if you don't want to hear the dogs barking through the night. Other than that, great stay!
Enjoyed the stay for 2 nights, definitely felt safe by the river and left for Bend for the day for some paddling and came back feeling okay about leaving our tent. The river was a bit low because it's summer but that's fine we weren't planning on paddling in there to begin with. Everyone we met at the farm/camp was friendly, there were a lot of animals around from the farm, also at night just a lot of wild animals/bird sounds and a big storm passing overhead. I'd recommend for anyone planning on seeing Smith rock or just wanting to camp somewhere wild that's not a forest for a night. There was a guy fishing down there in a parallel site. This is not like camping in the forest where you have silence and trees, this is camping out in a very wild field with a river and at night occasional headlights of cars passing by but that part's not so bad. All of the camp sites appear to be right next to each other and there's a single portapotty. The host was nice, he came down and said hi and chatted a few times. I appreciated the stay overall but maybe not the place to get away to "fix your marriage" or something. :]

Due to illness, we weren’t able to stay, but did check the site out before leaving. Very pretty area with very little shade. The river looked too low and with algae to wade into or have the dogs play in, but maybe there are better spots further down. Nice hosts who were communicative.
Beautiful private river to swim in with gorgeous mountain (?) backdrop. If you’re an animal lover then you will especially love this site. Tons of friendly and beautiful animals to visit! If you’re a carnivore then you must check out the dream fridge of ranch meats. John and Hoss were so friendly and generous — if I am ever in the area again then I would love to come back. 10/10

This place was beautiful! From the moment we arrived, it felt calm, peaceful, and like the perfect little escape. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He gave us free firewood, showed us around the ranch, and even let us meet and pet all the animals (which was awesome!). Being surrounded by that beautiful scenery was so refreshing, and getting here was super easy. We’re already talking about our next trip back. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Gorgeous views, clean, and kind.
Perfect for a pit stop or a long afternoon soak in the river
Ill start with. AMAZING!! We were in the private area. They helped us find where to go on 4 wheeler (but there is a sign too) and led us to a little oasis. The alpacas were so cute but they said no thanks when I went for a pet. Shade cloth, picnic table and right on the crooked river. We came with a big truck and 28' long camper trailer. We were initially nervous pulling in because it was narrow but it was totally fine going nice and slow. Wide enough turns for no anxiety. It was beautiful. Highly recommend.
Loved camping on John & Sarah’s land. The directions and signs were clear and easy to find, and the spots were clearly marked as well. The shade was nice, the garbage cans were securely fastened, and the facilities were clean. The view wasn’t so bad either! 🤩🩷
It was overall pretty good! No shade at this spot though. Also the spots were a lot closer together than I originally thought but that’s okay! The “runner” of this spot was odd though, came out to greet us and didn’t have much to say and was pretty unfriendly and didn’t give us any info on where to go but there were signs. Weird interaction for sure! Also water was pretty yucky, my friend who lives in Bend said to definitely not swim in it! Also it was advertised as water accessible but it was not. Anyways that was a lot of complaining but thanks for having us! It was cheaper festival camping! Cheers!
Such a beautiful piece of property, the spots are right on the river with an overhead shade . Tons of space, very quick to respond to any questions at all, we would 100% book here again.
Lovely stay. Wonderful owners. The property is beautiful with lots of animals and beatuiful scenery with the river and mountain. Has a little farm store where you can buy eggs, ,meat etc. Our daughter got a ride on their three wheeler showing the property which she loved. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at John and Sarah’s Hipcamp. We were actually the first Hipcampers to this site and actually our first Hipcamp as well. The site had everything we needed since we planned for camping. Outhouse, picnic table, nice cover for sun shade. The views were stunning-right along the crooked river with views of a mesa ahead.
They have a beautiful farm property too with lots of farm animals. The hosts went above and beyond with their kindness-they welcomed us when we first arrived, provided firewood and a fire pit, dropped off a popup camper in case we wanted to use that instead of the tent. They even let us borrow their paddleboard and invited us for taco dinner the last night we were there and showed us the farm animals. John and Sarah told us their exciting plans they have for the land and will be looking forward to another visit some day again when I’m back in the area. I can’t say enough good things about how great the visit was. Thanks John and Sarah!!

Quiet , beautiful, peaceful spot. Right on the water which is gorgeous but expect bugs since you are by water. Hosts were amazing and brought us some firewood and responded quickly to any inquiries
