Hot tent camped the weekend at Gary and Audrey's, Thornhill Bluff campsite with our 2 dogs! Short little walk to a secluded campsite at the top of the bluff. Along the trail are strung lights to help guide you back and light the site up! The site is large and accommodating for the space that I needed. (12ft diameter tipi hot tent, could definitely accommodate larger!) Fire ring at site and enough wood for anyone who stays. Two wood benches for seating at site. Bathroom is up at the house, but available at all times! Clean and a wonderful amenity to have! Absolutely beautiful views in any direction on the Bluff. We hiked along the bluff to check out the steep ravine that leads down to the Sand Run Metro Park. Took a couple rides down the Zipline in the back yard, where there are also trampolines, a private pond and some other fun amenities we haven't checked out yet! Our hosts were amazing, the camping was phenomenal, thank you Gary and Audrey!

Stayed for the weekend and celebrated a fall crafting camp themed around the change in fall season and the creatures that lurk. Our reservation was made for a group only a few days before our 4 night stay. Gary was very fast with communication and we were happy with the reservation. Gary accommodated us when we arrived a day earlier by mistake (inquired about Wednesday-Sunday night but accidentally booked Thursday-Sunday only). The bathroom is convenient and hot water was a game changer for camping. The property is beautiful, the zipline is an added bonus, and Gary was awesome!

Great spot, the hosts were very nice and the site is well maintained and cared for. We had a fire all evening and the following morning- plenty of great burning wood on site. It made for a really nice quick getaway with a friend.

I loved camping on their land! I loved all the creatures on their land. I enjoyed ziplining and jumping on the trampoline and having a chance to pretend to be Simone Biles and watch my partner awkwardly jump. Everything was conveniently available. Gary was very responsive if I needed his help. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to camp in the region.

I stayed here with my dog to be close to Cuyahoga National Park and was not disappointed. Gary met me at the site with dry wood and showed me where I could use the bathroom if I needed. They have a copious amount of firewood for guests to use and make sure guests have whatever they need. These are people who he genuinely want to make sure you have a good experience. Would recommend.

Gary was incredibly hospitable and super friendly. The camp site was beautiful and felt quite remote, even as it was located at the edge of town. Because the property is adjacent to a large forest park, there is a sense of camping in the woods. Lots of extra amenities that we did not take advantage of. We did however make full use of the well seasoned firewood. We would definitely return to this site.

The hosts were very nice and everything went great! Wooded camp area was peaceful and felt private and safe. There are even some fun toys in the woods like trampolines and a zipline.

Awesome place to stay! The host was amazing, very accommodating, and had any supplies we would need if we forgot anything. After giving us a full tour and plenty of dry fire wood, they left us alone for the remainder of our stay. The campsite was well away from their home and was in a cute, very wooded area. They even had a zip line which was a ton of fun! I definitely recommend this host and their site.

The solitary site is in a slightly remote area in a quiet neighborhood. Not too far from Cuyahoga Valley National Park and other area parks nearby. The site is on a bluff with steep ravines on both sides of the site. There was an ample supply of firewood. Since I never encountered the hosts I was unaware of where the water and bathroom were located.

I really enjoyed this campsite, as it was my first experience with Hipcamp. The campsite was very well lit up as seen in the pictures, and it was definitely far enough from the house to fee secluded while only being a few minutes from the road. The best part was the provided firewood that lit right up (and was covered from the rain too!!) Overall a great experience and would recommend

We loved tent camping on Gary and Audrey’s land. When you drive up it definitely catches you off guard because it is a residential area but Their house sits on a few acres so you just need to follow a trail into the woods and you have your own secluded campsite far away from anyone else.
The other thing my kids really enjoyed was throughout the property there were activities like a zip line, a trampoline and different swings to play on.
Gary communicated well and was available if we needed anything for our trip.
We would recommend to anyone and will likely return.

This place is beautiful ! It rained during my visit so I didn’t get to check it all out, but there’s so much hiking in the area, and even on this property there is a half mile trail and a trampoline and zip line . Plenty of firewood and nice lighting . This was my first time using Hipcamp, and I’d say it’s a winner ! Host was super friendly and helpful as well.

This was our first time using Hipcamp and what an awesome experience it was! Gary and Aubrey have such a lovely home/campsite, and were very accommodating and welcoming hosts. The campsite itself is very private as it’s tucked away in the far corner of their backyard and surrounded by beautiful wooded scenery. We definitely hope to come back to this campsite again soon!

Gary & Audrey are friendly and giving, people who you would inspire to be like. There property is beautiful and private. A wonderful place for a romantic getaway or a place to feel safe and get in touch with nature. There are a good amount of places to go to outside of there home if you need some entertainment or food. I loved the private, wooded camping area Gary and Audrey have set up just a short drive from the city. It’s truly a unique spot. They do have an outdoor cat, and we did see a raccoon—which is to be expected in this type of setting.

Gary and Audrey’s place is a slice of paradise. It feels secluded but is 5 minutes away from anything you’d need. We felt welcomed and taken care of for our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy retreat.

This was the loveliest camping experience I’ve had. I blew through overnight, but even so, in that time, the hosts offered local takeout recommendations, saw that I was well equipped with firewood, laid out utensils for me to use at dinner, took the time to chat and were incredibly kind, friendly and generous throughout. I’ve never met hosts like these two! The site itself is ideal, situated adjacent to a network of hiking and cycling trails, is well lit with lights strung up to guide you to the campsite (with the option of turning them off to see the stars at night), gorgeous view and - as a solo camper, I appreciated this - felt very safe and peaceful. Lots of wildlife, heard a couple owls in the night, woke up to deer on site in the morning. Really a perfect stay and I’ll come back to Akron specifically just to stay here again!

Great spot, secluded in the woods next to Sand Run. The site is well maintained, access to bathroom, hosts are very nice and helpful. I hiked there via Sand Run, that requires some off-trail and a climb up a ravine with a rope, but very doable for those that want the adventure. Otherwise easy access to parking from the front of house.
