Cabins great... road very steep!

The site is beautiful and the cabins are brand new... you will be woken up by the rooster and the cows :) word of warning you want 4 wheel drive to get to cabins as the road is STEEP. I managed with my mini van but it was very treterous! It would be nice if the cabins had at least one picnic table outside to use.

Some of the reviews are overly critical of Matt's camping area. The campgrounds are easy to get to, with improved gravel roads. The road leading to his land is mostly paved, but only one way. The 4x4 camp sites are well marked. I had no issue getting my pop-up camper in and out from one of the close to the road spaces. Kermit's bottom did require 4x4 when climbing the gravel hill. He clearly states this many times in the listing.
All of that being said, the campground is peaceful, serene, and very colorful during the fall. Firewood is provided for a small fee, as well as a fire ring and picnic table. Close to town as well - you can get whatever you need within 10 minutes. Currently there are outdoor showers and a porta potty. I will definitely come back, and I'm sure it will only be a better experience.

It’s an awesome little camp ground! Nice swim/fishing pond, an outlet to charge a phone, outdoor showers with a propane water heater, firewood available and a porta potty. The property was really pretty! Walked the creek bed to see some cool rock formations, bunch of wildlife and had owls hooting to wake us up both mornings. 2nd time there now, I will visit again! I walked past the cabins while I was there also, definitely want to rent one of those, they look really nice.

We had a great stay at one of the cabins on Matt’s property. It got a little cold one night but nothing we couldn’t handle. Had a very nice campfire that kept us warm! We hope to get back there again next year!

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
It is a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. There are a number of sites to choose from; in the woods or out in the open on grass. The only truly level place is on the grass near the road in so it is not an ideal camping spot for larger pull trailers or RVs. My camper is only 13' so it was just small enough. To my surprise there are a few power hookups and a water hydrant. Also, the owner has provided a port-a-potty and an outdoor shower with an on-demand water heater! He also provides firewood for a reasonable price. If you are a star gazer, there are clear views of the sky with no light pollution. If you like primitive camping with some amenities this is your place. I would definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful spot! I appreciated the diversity of site areas, in the grass under the sun or under trees, and the warm outdoor shower was a great amenity.
My only difficulty was getting there by bike. It's a tough climb no matter which way you go. I followed directions on the website to take the paved road on the way there from the OTET trail, which is steep with some blind turns. It felt unsafe given my slow speed and fast drivers, but maybe it was just the time of day. I chose to hike my bike down the gravel road (TWP 102) back to the trail the next morning since I wasn't confident my brakes could handle the descent with a fully loaded bike and didn't want to walk on the busier road. I would probably take the gravel road up if I had to do it again.

This was a great place to stay, especially if you are looking to explore Berlin or Millersburg. The sites were nicely secluded and every site had a fire pit and picnic table. It's helpful to arrive in the daylight for first timers so that you find the right sites. Regular camping is a left right after registration. Cabins and the group sites are farther down the hill. A beautiful place to stay and we'd happily come back.

This was a wonderful location! We used infrared and night vision plus Heat sensors down in the hollow looking for Bigfoot. Had a great fire at the fire pit. Spent Saturday at the Bigfoot Conference. Drove over to salt fork state forest - packed like sardines there vs turkey Hollow - never felt crowded. Will definitely return. There is electrical and one light inside the cabin - didn’t have to use my ECOFLOW. Bring your cot or rollout matt - plenty of room. Approx 16x16 cabinets with porch. Outside there are plenty of trees for hammocks as well. Two port a John’s to choose from and water outside the cabin. Again, I will be back! Thx … this was a great accidental find. The Seabee Clem

A beautiful and quiet place, would definitely recommend staying here! The cabin was clean and cozy. I would recommend parking near the first campground where the wood is and not by your cabin unless you have 4wheel drive because the hill is quite steep. I definitely plan to stay here again!

Absolutely beautiful property! We stayed a week and I sure wish we had a few more days. Yes its rough getting there, but it's possible. Those reviews are the reason we had to come here. We love back roads and seclusion. I cant wait to go back. Never met the host but he was busy improving his property. Thank you so much for a week to remember!

We stopped in for a short stay at one of the primitive campsites. Perfect for our purposes. We drove in right to the site. Nice fire pit and picnic table and plenty of space. The primitive spots are very similar to state sites, as the other spots are close, but there's plenty of space and trees in between for privacy. We were only there for getting some zzzs on the road, so we weren't around long. But, again, great for our purposes (and for our dog's).

This was our first time to camp here yes it's a little tretchiurois getting back to the site but if you take your it's not that bad it was very peaceful and we really enjoyed ourselves we will definitely stay here again when we're in the area

Perfect campsites with lots of privacy! The showers were very nice and the water was very warm. The road to the sites definitely requires 4wd but is easy to navigate. We would love to go back in the future!

Overall this is a decent campsite and checks all the boxes. We didn't meet the host. The only thing you should know is that it is a long way uphill to get to. If you're in a car, on a motorcycle or maybe even an e-bike, this won't be a problem. We were riding bicycles on the OTET, and it was a killer climb at the end of a long day. We ended up pushing bikes loaded with camping gear for a long time.

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
Matt's land is beautiful, tucked away along a narrow, tree-tunneled road that suddenly opens onto his hills and pond. The campsites are sheltered in the woods, and there's plenty to explore. The kids had a great time exploring a dry creek bed and seeing the cows!

We really enjoyed our stay at Turkey Hollow. It was peaceful and private. You could see the stars clearly and listen to the night bugs sing. We tent camped and the sites easily accessible and we were secluded from other nearby campers. I would recommend Matt's destination if you're looking for peace and quiet.

I camped while biking the Ohio to Erie Trail. The elevation of the gravel road leading to the property was challenging after a long day of riding, but worth it. The spot I camped in was secluded without feeling remote. The open air shower was exactly what I needed to refresh. The property looked like it would have been fun to explore I had a bit more time.

The camping area was very challenging to drive down/up with a small car— it is a very steep, tight slope paved with loose stones. The sites were mostly on uneven, slanted ground and lacked any flat spaces to set up tents.

I wish I would’ve had a 4 x 4 to go back into the more remote campsites they do have some that are really remote and nice. We really enjoyed our time here.! The only thing is is that during the night my boyfriend heard some barking from dogs in the morning there was a rooster that was driving him crazy but it didn’t bother me.

Absolutely incredible experience I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone who wants to get away from the city for a weekend with friends if I didn’t want to keep it as a little secret for myself so the prices stay the same the campground is massive has lots of places to hike a great little fishing pond that’s well stocked caught a couple small mouth bass wood for a camp fire that’s very reasonably priced and the camp grounds are well spread out so you’re group can feel like you’re all alone and you can camp closer to the road or deeper in the woods it’s up to you running water right next to the sites easy to find a sites where clean if you're thinking about checking this place out I would highly recommend you do perfect place to get away from friends for the weekend.

What a lovely campground. This little gem is not your state park, it's a rural property where you need to drive down a steep grade rock drive to get down into. They do not permit travel trailers and there's no way I'd go down that drive with my cruiser motorcycle; but I had about 130lb of gear with me on my Kawasaki Versys and made it no problems, and the other lady camping when I was there made it in her Toyota Prius, so don't be too scared.
The owner is a very nice common-sense sort of guy. He's working to add indoor showers and bathrooms, but for now there's protopodites an an outdoor shower area.
I'd definitely stay again.
