I loved hammocking at this site. The best part about this site is the location. It’s within minutes of the gorge and state park. The host went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They even collected some dry kindling after a rainy day. The only part that wasn’t quite clear from the photos/description is the location of the site. It’s in the host’s front yard, diagonal from their house and most of the trees in the background of the photos are in the neighbors yard. Fortunately, the road they live on is a gravel side road with very little traffic. You can hear the noise from main road though. None of this made my experience negative, just sharing so others know in advance.

Exactly as advertised. Nice shade under large trees. Good flat area. Access to fire pit and wood. Super close to John Bryan and Yellow Springs. Ryan was a good dude.

Great communication with friendly host. Clear directions, nice fire ring with chairs and tiki torch. Despite it being just a bit off a US highway with a fair amount of traffic, I got the best night's sleep I've had in weeks! Cool clean air, birds singing. I only regret that I didn't have a chance to meet their dogs!

The Green Barn in Yellow Springs
A very tranquil setting and the nicest host family you can ever meet. Located off of a dead end road so very little traffic. We set up under a canopy of loosely scattered trees for excellent mix of shade and breeze. Convenient to the village of Yellow Springs but offers fantastic tranquility. Hope to go there again. The Green Barn in Yellow Springs
Ryan’s land was amazing! We went to Yellow Springs for a Dave Chappelle show in the cornfield and Ryan’s place was less than 2 mins away. The setup was great, there were a couple of chairs, a fire pit and great scenic views. It was the perfect place for an overnight trip. We would recommend and stay again.

We loved camping at the Green Barn! Ryan had a fire pit with tiki torches set up for us when we arrived. We even called about an early check in and Ryan was more than accommodating. Firewood was available for purchase. Young’s Dairy is right up the road and Yellow Springs is less than a two minute car ride. Could not have asked for a better last minute getaway!!! Private and quiet!

With Hipcamp, sites are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. The Green Barn is like one of those yummy pralines or liquid filled cherry candies I love. While not a location with a lot of amenities it was perfect for our stay. The site's biggest advantage? It's proximity to Yellow Springs, a quirky little town that is one of the friendliest places you will ever visit, pandemic or no. As avid cyclists, the town was well within riding distance and full of fun shops and restaurants. For those of you of a more adventurous spirit, it is closely positioned to the Little Miami Bike Trail, John Bryant State Park, Clifton Gorge Natural Preserve and a host of other desirable outdoor destinations.
Coming back to our site was perfect for winding down from the day. Ryan, did an admirable job preparing our site with firewood and citronella torches and waste bins were conveniently located. Mornings and evenings were quiet and while traffic could be heard in the distance, it was not disturbing. The site was near the garden area prepared for winter and covered with a plastic sheet and probably the only distracting part of the location.
We were lucky in the selection since the weather made for a perfect Autumn weekend. The sun was at its autumnal best, warm and inviting. Leaves were dancing gently, providing entertainment as only the natural world can choreograph. The wind, rustling through the walnut grove, added its song, making for a perfect ambiance. If you decide to schedule the Green Barn for your stay and you have everything you need, you won't regret your choice.

It was very clean and quiet. The host was very attentive. We truly enjoyed our stay, it was close to great hiking. We would definitely stay there again!
