I loved tent camping on the Away from the World Farm! Such a lovely place with kind hosts and adorable animals. The wooded area was perfect for camping. There was a fire pit and a picnic table. We had a lovely time.

I’ve been on Hipcamp for a long time. This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had while camping. You drive through an incredible farm (not a farm that’s used to pump out cattle, but a farm where every animal has a name and a reason for being there other than mass consumption) to get to the back part of the property, where the camping area is. It’s a fantastic forest that has been kept nearly 100% natural, but has the best and cutest outhouses made from natural wood by the son of the owner, and they’re spotless. Whatever you do though, pay the extra money for the farm tour. The host is one of the most genuine and endearing people I’ve ever met and she LOVES taking you around the farm (which has belonged to her family since the mid-1800’s 🙂↕️) They have so many sheep that are so friendly and cuddly. And they’re not made for meat like on a normal farm, so they’re the actual size of sheep, which is WAY smaller than you would imagine haha. The camp sites are so far from the farm that you feel like you’re in the actual wilderness. And there are only a few, and they’re far apart, so even if it’s fully booked, you feel alone in the woods - in a good way. Overall, I could write so much more about this farm, but there’s a character limit so I can’t lol. Either way, CAMP HERE! It will be an amazing experience and you will love every minute of it. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My husband and I had a great time tent camping. We went in the fall so not the best privacy. But it was a beautiful place with wonderful landscape. Host was very helpful and kind.

I really enjoyed my tent camping experience here! Veronica greeted me when I arrived, showing me the sites (4) and letting me pick which one I wanted. The sites are first come first serve and I was the first guest to arrive. The RV style potty was tricky to use at first, but clean. I stayed in the fursthest spot away from the entrance and it was very private and quiet, though you could occasionally hear the farm animals nearby during the day, which was not bothersome to me. I would stay here again!

We had a wonderful time camping here. The sights are spread out, it was easy to get our cars to the site, the animal neighbors were adorable and the bathroom had a compost toilet! The weather was extremely hot the weekend we went but because the sites were in the woods we were always comfortable! There's great river swimming spots just 30 minutes away and all sorts of staples in town should you need anything. The host gave us all the information we needed and then gave us our privacy after that. We brought a dog and a 1 and a 1/2 year old and they both had a great time. We had a large group (4 tents) and there was plenty of room at the site for all of us. Incredible space and beautiful land!!

5 stars for sure. The family was absolutely wonderful. The campsite was beautiful and although not entirely secluded, it felt far enough away from the others. The composting toilet was a nice touch and Veronica was incredibly helpful. My daughter LOVED chasing and catching the chickens. We felt very taken care of. It was a great stay and we will go back soon.

We really enjoyed our time here are definitely going to be back. The spots are very private and secluded with everything you would expect at a campsite. Our spot was nestled right next to the creek which was also where the cows and sheep came to drink and get out of the sun which was pretty cool. We didn’t have time to explore much but were looking forward to next time. Thank you!

We had a great time on the farm! The camp site was perfect, private, and scenic. Stassia’s family was very welcoming, providing tinder for starting our fire and sharing their story and farm animals with us - our daughter loved seeing the cows, chickens, ducks, and sheep! We are already thinking about when we can come back, and would highly recommend this campsite to anyone needing a place to camp in the area!

We wanted to camp where there were few people, no RVs and peace and quiet. That is exactly what we got!! The camp sites were not on top of each other and in the woods. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating as one of our campers accidentally pressed buttons on her phone (she was unaware) which called 911 and brought the sheriff’s department out to the property at 4:30 in the morning. We all had a good laugh! Definitely recommend!!!

We had a wonderful time camping here. This was the first tent camping experience in the woods for 2 people in our group and it was a great example of how fun camping can be. The site we picked had a lot of tree cover and a hammock and plenty of room for 2 tents. There was room for kids to explore and a such great experience meeting the lambs, chickens and baby cows. We felt very welcome and they made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend.

This was my second trip to Away From the World, and will definitely not be my last. Stassia is an excellent host, and her land is beautiful and secluded. There is ample distance between campsites and plenty of room for both tents and hammocks. As a bonus, the chickens and sheep are very curious - if you wander up toward the pasture area they will come check you out.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this farm camping site! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owner pours their heart into the place — incredibly kind, welcoming, and impressively thorough. We stayed at the Ravine site, and it was nothing short of sublime. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, it truly felt like we had stepped away from the world. Peaceful, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. It's also a fantastic spot for kids, with plenty of space to explore and engage with nature.
Don’t miss the farm tour — it’s a great way to connect with the land and the animals, and you’ll come away with a deeper appreciation for the care that goes into everything here. Be sure to buy some eggs too — delicious and a great way to support this wonderful local business.

Peace and quiet, everything you want when camping. Your tucked back in the property which was great, I did not hear 1 car or a plane during my stay. I heard the owls at night and the sheep and the roosters in the morning. Loved it. The owners were so nice and the sites were great. They have 4 sites too choose from and it's a 1st come basis. I will be coming back.

This was the perfect place for our young family to camp. There were three other families / groups there at the same time, but our site still felt very private and everyone was quiet and respectful of others' enjoyment of nature. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and our son loved feeding the animals. Just a short drive from Mohican, too. A great experience!

We had an amazing weekend! The hosts were amazing and the campsites are cozy and secluded. It was great to see all the farm animals and we enjoyed evening walks through the woods. The place is quiet and peaceful and listening to the owner tell us a little bit of family history on the property just added to the experience! This was our first time using HipCamp, but it won’t be our last. By the way, Morris is the coolest camp kitty ever!

We had a wonderful time at Away From the World! The four campsites were spaced, but visible, but thankfully out neighbors were also there to enjoy the quite this fall weekend. Our host was delightful, and we very much enjoyed a farm tour to meet the chickens who laid our breakfast eggs, as well as some sheep, cows, horses, and even a couple ducks. The firewood was fairly priced and perfectly seasoned. The chemical toilet was very clean and convenient. We highly recommend this site.

beautiful campsites and it really is "away from it all"-- tucked away down a back road and in a nicely wooded area! the campsites have a picnic table, a trash can, and a firepit. we requested firewood and there was enough to burn until bedtime. neighboring campsites are visible but far enough away that they do not feel intrusive at all. the campsite we stayed at was completely wooded, so no stargazing, but the peace and serenity of staying under the trees more than made up for it!

My experience was very positive. There are 4 campsights nicely spread out from eachother each with it's own unique Vista. It is possible to drive near your sight and unload and then a place for parking bulack up the hill.
They have made cute and convenient outhouse that are very well kept. The provided hammock was super comfy. I enjoyed the winding ravine and the rolling hills you can explore the terrain which was not overgrown or walk the stone road that winds around the property. I encountered a few rain showers on visit. However, the canopy of lush trees made for a natural umbrella from the elements. It also helped shade the sun on the hot days. It is commons to see dear and little forest animals scampering about Itook the farm tour and enjoyed hearing the history from Virginia and her explanations of how they maintain their agriculture and livestock. You also have the option of buying wood or may scavenge your own from the many manicured and naturally felled trees spread throughout.
I truly did feel, Away from the world.

The site was perfect for our 2 hammocks, and had a convenient portapotty. Overall it was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were absolutely lovely. Looking forward to another visit!

Beautiful farm and woods. Campsite are secluded among the trees with a nice ravine. Great hosts. We loved the farm tour and my son enjoyed feeding the sheep, horses, and cows. Will stay again.
