Veteran-owned and proudly American, our simple campground is located right in the town of South Heart, ND. We offer 12 nightly sites on less than one acre, providing a safe, affordable, no-frills place to park just minutes from Dickinson and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We don’t operate for profit; our $30 and $40 nightly rates are intentionally low to give fellow veterans and travelers a break. We’re not a resort, so there’s no shower house, laundry, or Wi-Fi. What we do offer is full hookups, an on-site RV technician, nearby golf, a bar within walking distance, and DoorDash and Walmart delivery to your site. Back-in sites #1–8 have 20- and 50-amp service. If your rig requires 30 amps, adapters cost about $12–$13 at Menards, seven miles east. Pull-through sites #9–12 have 20-, 30-, and 50-amp service. The frost-free spigots may require a push and slight clockwise turn to start the water. By reserving a site and entering the premises of American RV Park, all guests, visitors, and invitees ("Guests") expressly agree to the terms of this Release of Liability and Indemnification Agreement. 1. Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk: Guests acknowledge that staying at an RV park involves inherent risks, including but not limited to risks from natural elements, severe North Dakota weather events, trees, wildlife, uneven terrain, campfires, utility connections, power surges, water or sewer service interruptions, and the actions of other guests. Guests voluntarily elect to enter the premises and assume any and all risks of property damage, personal injury, illness, or death. 2. Release of Ordinary Negligence: To the maximum extent permitted under North Dakota law, Guests hereby waive, release, and forever discharge American RV Park (including its owners, management, employees, and affiliates) from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action for personal injury, death, property damage, loss, or theft resulting from the ordinary negligence of the park or its staff. 3. Indemnification: Guests agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless American RV Park from any and all claims, costs, expenses, damages, or attorney fees arising out of or resulting from the Guest's own actions, the actions of their minors/invitees, or their stay at the park.

Loved the location. Host is a delightful young man. Quiet area, train nearby, didn’t bother me. Exactly as described. Sewer, water, electric all new functioned well. Grass parking surface dried quickly after rain. Camp in process of improvement. No frills, or no fancy. Felt very safe. Just what I needed and wanted. Easy distance from Medora.

The park could use a little TLC. The camp host was very active with the campers. Note: This RV Camp is located near an active railroad. Unless you are a hard sleeper, plan on being woken up twice a night. The location is in a small town. The town is very nice. The price per night is reasonable.

Easy in and easy out. Several pull through spots, several back in spots. All hook ups readily available. Owner was very responsive with questions. We stayed for 5 days most people came and went one to two days. Using it as a transitionary spot. Conveniently located near dickinson. We had business there and it made it easy to get back and forth. About 25 minutes from Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Moderna. Quiet space to reenergize.

The site was level and easy to access. The site had no tables, which would be a nice improvement. Communication was also good. I originally booked the wrong night by mistake, but it was easy to move it to the night we needed using messaging with the hosts.

The campground is away from the interstate. Unfortunately, it's only a couple blocks from the railroad tracks. Unless you are an early rider, this is not going to be your best experience. The trains are constant. We managed to sleep through the nighttime trains, but the 4:30 am would get us up for the day. If you want to get an early start on the day, this place works. Other than that, the site's are level and clean. No trees so Starlink works great. Water, electric, and sewer are easy hookups. Electric is 220 and 20 amp 120, so if you need 30 amp 120, bring an adaptor.

We actually stayed here as the closest we could get to Medora with the Holiday weekend. This park is touted as no frills—so it has full hookup spots and that is it! Works perfectly. Site was level and hookups worked fine. Easy on/off of 94 and only 25 minutes from Medora, the Rosevelt library and national park. Didn’t miss any frills as we were out seeing the beautiful area. Don’t miss the library or the Medora Musical.

Wonderful owners of this RV camp. It is small, and rustic, but convenient and easy to park. At this time (2026) no additional facilities are onsite, but owners are planning upgrades in the near future, to recover from last year’s devastating tornado. Will try to return next time we are in the area, and hope others will lend support to them

If you like trains this is the place to stay. The tracks are about a block from the park. It was great!! We had a personal issue and contacted the host. They were a great help to us. Very nice people.

Perfect location for visiting Theodore Roosevelt NP. Nothing fancy, but has full hook ups and pull through sites for easy in and out. We had site 12 nearest a quiet back road overlooking the field. Very happy.

SITE #6 - 50 ft Back-In
No frills but has everything you need!!! Full hook ups. Medora is 30 minutes away. North Unit of TRNP is an hour. 15 min to Dickinson where they have grocery stores and anything else you may need. I thought it was a good location and very easy to get to using the directions on the website. Definitely turn on Broadway and not Main. I never met the host but I appreciate their service to our country and the represented flags on the property.

Perfect for us overnighters ! Excep our over night turned into an extra day due to my starter goin out in my pick up ! Called Jason and he said no problem stay another night , we ll work it out ! Thank you for your service to our country Jason , and all the best to you and your wife !!!

SITE #6 - 50 ft Back-In
We stayed 4 nights. It worked out ok as a hub for us. We left each day to visit Medora and the TR library and national park. The site was doable but pretty rough. When it rained there were a lot of large puddles in the site(s) and the road. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 5.

Great site, easy in and out of RV park. FHu, no hassle check-in, everything done on line. We're a few mud holes after the five hours of rain received the night before we left. Close to the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Unfortunately this site is totally misrepresented. It is obvious the owners have hit some hard times and haven’t been able do the basic routine maintenance.
