Our Hip Camp has a variety of sites from tent camping to small, heated "glamping" cabins. The location is rural and very quiet, about a 30min drive from downtown Asheville and 20 minutes from groceries and other restaurants. There is a small family owned bakery and many local farms and trails nearby. We are a 15min drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of the beautiful scenic views provided year round. There is a short, steep trail on the property leading up to a bench perfect for solo reflection or admiring the wildlife and distant mountain range. The property is a hill sloping up from field to forest with a small creek that drains into a pond filled with koi fish. Our property is in the mountains so be prepared to walk up and down a hill/stairs. The shared bathroom, a small communal kitchen and infrared sauna are located in a separate heated building (Oak - at the bottom of the property).

Beech Tree Tent Site

Nicely shaded by its namesake beech tree, this is a uniquely flat and spacious campsite on the mountainous land. A large built-in fire pit is included, surrounded by a nice open field. This site is the closest to our small koi pond, where guests can sit and listen to the stream or watch for our five koi fish!

Dogwood RV/Van Site

Larger than the other sites, this can be both an RV and tent camping site (although the ground is a bit sloped in the tent zone). This site is very spacious but also private, with its own picnic table and beautiful handmade lotus fire pit. A flat parking space is provided, and although there are no hookups, there is still a communal bathroom and kitchen area.

This is one of our heated rustic one-room cabins on the hillside overlooking the pond and the mountain range in the distance when the leaves are scarce. This view can be enjoyed on the spacious porch, or from inside through the glass doors on colder days. The space has many windows providing a lot of natural light, as well as two lamps and an overhead light/fan. The bed is queen sized with pillows, sheets, and a comforter. There is also a cozy chair with a small blanket as well as a table with a set of chairs. A chest of drawers and bedside table provide space to put your stuff without making the room feel cramped. The bathroom, kitchen and an infrared sauna are in a separate building on the property.

Super sweet getaway!
Sky Hillside Cabin
The Sky Hillside cabin has everything you need for a truly relaxing trip—just pack your clothes! It's a great spot to relax and unwind. The studio space has great natural light and is very comfortable. It’s a charming piece of land and helpful hosts. We can't wait to come back!

Cedar Hillside Cabin
The perfect break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! The cabin is cozy, yet bright and open feeling. The bed has a comfortable high-quality mattress, and it is was wonderful waking up to the stunning view of sky and mountains. In the fall the surrounding colors are beautiful and golden leaves rain down around. You have to be comfortable walking up and down hills, but if you are it is so very worth it. We will definitely be coming back!

What a rare treat! Josh and Fanny’s family was so welcoming — kind and attentive without ever being all up in my business. I loved using their sauna and the yoga/exercise room, which had just the right mix of dumbbells and equipment to help me stay on track with my fitness goals. The coffee, espresso, and tea setup was top-notch too. I never felt like I was “camping” at all — more like staying at a peaceful retreat. Honestly, if I were an author, this would be the perfect place to write a novel!

Welcoming and gracious, Watershed is peaceful, relaxing and a private retreat, we stayed only a night, but if had more time would’ve stayed longer. Will re-visit/ recommend!
