Great little spot rite on a bend in the yadkin. Even being at the front of someones property, it was very private and tranquil.

Overall, the river was beautiful and the hosts were incredibly nice. The bathrooms were a little rustic, and I'm truly ok with a certain amount of rustic when everything is still functioning, but the toilets that were functioning started leaking. The kids play house is nearly ready to fall over. There were also some old abandoned cars and campers that gave a bit of a creepy feel that thankfully my kid loves.

We enjoyed our spot by the river. Other campers not too close, and other than the occasional barking dog, it was quite peaceful. Sandy bottom river, would be great for swimming in warmer weather. Wading was cold at first but warmed up after a few minutes.
We did not investigate the bathroom area as we are independent/self contained and it looked like they may have been under construction as the doors were off the hinges.
All in all, a great spot for what we needed - a quiet spot to sleep and prepare breakfast. Two nights this trip and will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Emerald Hollow Mine was a short drive away and very fun place to visit.

We liked the view and the river access on this site, and the star-gazing was incredible! Unfortunately, the bathrooms are very run-down to the point of being almost dangerous and we had to go into town to take our bathroom breaks. If you have small children or want to actually use the shower, book somewhere else. If you are fine with a more primitive camping style, then this is a beautiful place to camp.

The campsite will remind you of the beach as far as sand goes. Be sure to pack insect repellent because there are A LOT of flies! The river flooded when we were there so we had to be evacuated. Talk about an adventure! Lol. Other than that, it's a peaceful getaway. The hosts are helpful and friendly!!!!

We loved the spot! Tons of cool rocks by the river. We checked in with the owner and he pointed us to the spot we would camp. That’s the only time we ever saw him so plenty of privacy. The camp sites are spread out well also. I couldn’t hear any of the other campers.

My kids had so much fun in the river . My husband and I loved that it was so peaceful. It was just enough natural.
Bathrooms are kept clean. No doors on bathroom ( not sure why )They have wifi . If you don't like bugs ,camping is not for you . Overall family friendly. Would recommend. Owners are chill and welcoming. Not hard to find. Affordable.Easy access to main highway. Local restaurants are a plus . Forgot something you need ? Walmart is a short drive away . We will be visiting again soon .

We have mixed feelings about our stay. We liked our site on the river, but the rest of the campground needs a lot of improvements. The bathrooms were filthy and falling apart. The swimming pool was a nice surprise, but the fence around it is unsecured causing a huge risk for small children. If you only care about your actual site, I would recommend this campground.

We didn't even stay or ask for our money back. It was basically like you were camping in the backyard of someone's house with broken down cars and trash everywhere.

Lots of other campers so definitely a great option for those of us who do not like being alone in the woods. 🤗 Also a beautiful little river ran right beside our campsite and was perfect for our kidos to wade and splash around in. We found a few pieces of amethyst and lots of quartz! Campsites were clean and nicely spaced out so we were not bothered by noise or anything else going on around us. A major plus was that there was a bath house with toilets and showers. Hot water too! Will definitely be coming back.

Junk everywhere.
The showers had electrical wiring showing that went into the stall.
Employees cut the grass both nights we stayed around 7-830 pm.

Honestly it wasn’t really bad but we scheduled the trip for fishing and they have it advertised with fishing…there’s no fish.
Other than that it was nice. Not as secluded as I wanted but no one really bothered us, the site was clean and cared for and honestly it really was beautiful. Just not what I was looking for. You want a nice relaxing stay to do nothing that’s your place. You wanna fish, find somewhere else

My wife and I had a great stay in Hiddenite. We arrived in the afternoon and camped by the river. Enjoyed a nice dinner with a fire. Great stars. It’s a shame that this place went through such a tragedy with the flood. I would encourage everyone to go and help out. It’s a beautiful location.

We were a day late for arrival. Kent stayed up all night waiting to make sure we were okay getting there on the long drive with all the storms that was in other states on the way. The campsite itself was beautiful and it was a lot of fun playing in the stream running right by your campsite. Gorgeous view waking up to see the trees and water running right beside your tent.

This is not an angry review just simply letting people know. I drove 6 hours to this campsite to find out that they had been closed for a number of years. I did receive a refund the owner was very nice and mature. Although I didn’t have a place to sleep other than my car after that it was okay. It was strange though because the owner talked to me through the app and said it was okay that I arrive late. Then I call when I get there and they had no idea who I was and wasn’t expecting a reservation, very nice people by the way just a heads up not to book a campsite here.

Beautiful spot on the river. A little rough around the edges but a perfect no frills camping spot for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Kent is a wonderful host , very kind and helpful.

We arrived around 7 pm. The camp site is at the bottom of a gravel road, I would suggest 4wd if it's rained recently. We met Kent at the bottom and he pointed us to the direction of the sites and let us pick our favorite one. We picked the back left spot for the evening. When we arrived at our spot the area was cleared out with a picnic table and fire ring. There was a nice stack of wood waiting for us as well. We didn't see Kent after checking in but he was there if we would have needed him. The water in the river was shallow at the bank and progressively got deeper towards the center. There was plenty of opportunity for fishing or looking for gems in the river bed. I do want to add that if you're "Glamping" this may not be the spot for you but if you want a place to get in touch with nature in your own private sandbox I definitely recommend this spot! We only stayed over night, while potable water and showers were offered, we did not need these options.

I want to preface this with me showing up at 130am from a long drive. As I drove down the driveway I was encouraged as it looked very remote, nothing but trees and what looked like some parking spaces along the way. Then when I got to the bottom to where "camp" is there is a few buildings that had lights on but I didn't see anyone in them and they had no curtains, there was also junk cars quite. Few of them there to the left, I was a little creeped out and decided to see if I could find a remote spot enough that I wouldn't be bothered by the odd situation but then Ken the guy that runs the place came over to greet me. He was very nice but he was working on the plumbing at 130am and mentioned the showers weren't even working which even if it was cold that was the prime reason I decided to stay there was a remote place to sleep for the night undisturbed and a shower in the morning before I was off to my next destination. Anyway the combination of things creeped me out so I just left and went and found a motel down the road. I was expecting based on the photos provided several remote spots by a creek and maybe a bathroom/shower house up by the entrance, I wasn't expecting it to look the way it did. I was there maybe 30 minutes total. Maybe it would have been different if I showed up during the day but I still wouldn't have been happy considering the contrast to the photos provided.

If you’re looking for a quiet place by the river—this is the spot! I enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Kent was super helpful/super nice. It’s a rugged campsite. Spaced out nicely, and different spots for different people. Like a few spots for scenery & a few spots right on the water. It’s a nice area by the water, throw a line, find some hidden gems, & listen to the water flow & the animal night life. Highly recommend if you’re into the “secluded” camping lifestyle. If you’re boujie it’s not the spot for you.

We had fun but it was kind of scary because we were the only ones there. The pool had no fence around it and sat in a field between camp and the toilets. The toilets had no doors but at least we were family. We went to the toilets with a partner because it was kind of creepy. Kent was a nice host but he ran his backhoe all the time, even at night. Overall we had fun though.

Overall we had a great time here but our camp was very close to other campsites and wasn’t as private as expected. The view was amazing and was the highlight of our stay. We were able to walk through the river numerous times which was awesome. The bathrooms/showers have no doors, neither do the entrances to the bathrooms. No signs indicating which is for male or female which is something to keep in mind when considering this place. The bathrooms/showers are very run down with a single light bulb in there. If youre able to look past these negative aspects then you’ll have a great time, we did! The most friendly place for dogs!

It was exactly what we were looking for when our 9yr old requested camping for his 9th bday. The owner Kent was extremely pleasant to talk to and found us a spot to setup by the river. We enjoyed being out in nature and having the opportunity to play in the river. We hope to come back sometime and highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from it all.
