This isn't just a campsite; it’s a front-row seat to a community-driven restoration project. The Property & Vision We are transforming this historic acreage into a community eco-park. In league with our 501(c)(3) program sponsor, Sustainable Sandhills, our mission is to restore the land’s natural beauty while preserving its storied past. As a guest, you are stepping into a "work in progress." You’ll see the early stages of permaculture and land stewardship in action as we work to protect this vital local watershed. The Historic Homestead The property (spanning 4244–4284) features several original structures dating back to the early 1900s. Please note that these buildings are currently undergoing active renovation. While they provide an incredible rustic backdrop and a sense of history, they are restricted areas for your safety. Their weathered patina and classic architecture serve as a reminder of the area’s deep agricultural roots. The Campsites: Creekfront Serenity While the buildings are being restored on the west side of the property, the magic happens as you head toward the water. Rockfish Creek Frontage: Private, primitive campsites located right on the water's edge. Unplugged & Natural: A true "Get Off the Grid" experience. Expect towering trees, local wildlife, and the soothing sounds of the creek. Activities: Ideal for kayaking, fishing, or primitive camping enthusiasts. What to Expect Primitive Stays: This is a pack-in, pack-out experience for those who love rugged, authentic nature. A Living Project: You are supporting a mission of sustainable land use. You may see ongoing restoration work near the front of the property, but the creek sites offer deep peace and privacy. Come be a part of the story and help us establish a lasting community park for the Sandhills!
