Sleep under Live Oaks and Carolina Pines; Lockwood Haven is a perfect spot to unwind and relish in the peacefulness that is Sunset Harbor. Sunset Harbor is a quiet old fishing village nestled along the banks of the Lockwood Folly River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Lockwood Haven is situated on a .5-acre vacant corner lot within the Sunset Harbor community. Lockwood Haven offers guests a pull-through graveled driveway with a 12x22 camping pad. The property is one block from a community Park where you can view spectacular sunsets. The park provides a canoe and kayak launch, allowing guests easy access to the Lockwood Folly River. A short one-mile drive is another community park with a fishing pier and free public boat launch, enabling easy access to navigate the Intracoastal and the ocean. Lockwood Haven provides campers an affordable, safe, and peaceful location to enjoy a weekend or week-long visit to this beautiful coastal area. We host small camper trailers and vans ONLY because of site size (12x22). Campers must have their own camping toilet. Absolutely no using the bathroom on the property! Lockwood Haven is a lovely, PRIMITIVE campsite. There is no electricity, no bathrooms, or running water. It is a “pack it in/pack it out” campsite. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Harbor with the convenience of quick and easy access to other points of interest. Sunset Harbor lies between Oak Island and Holden Beach, making it an easy 20-minute drive to the beach and downtown Southport. Come and experience the tranquility of Lockwood Haven! The pull-through gravel drive gives easy access to the level 12x22 camping pad. The site is in a neighborhood, so please respect the neighbors by keeping the sound level minimal. The camp is an easy two-minute walk to the Lockwood Folly River, where guests will experience the most stunning sunsets. The site is primitive, with no amenities. The location more than makes up for the lack of amenities. The campsite is located in an old fishing village named for its spectacular sunsets, Sunset Harbor. The harbor is tucked away behind Oak Island’s west end on the Lockwood Folly River and Intracoastal Waterway. The harbor boasts a serene, laidback lifestyle where golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation and wildlife is abundant—a place where deer and fox live among their human neighbors in complete harmony, where an angler can cast a line over oyster beds and catch their limit of drum and trout.
