Secluded and wild, but close to Asheville! A 15 minute drive to West Asheville, 20 minutes to downtown Asheville. Lots to see and do in this area! In addition to camping, the Big Cove Santuary comprises the Big Cove Resiliency Laboratory, and the Big Cove Rewilding Institute. There are several nature trails on the property; also wildlife observation opportunities, including abundant bird life. A small waterfall and a spring-feed bathing pond are also on the property. WiFi is available near basecamp. There is a composting toilet and an outdoor sink with tested well water for guests. RV site can provides 120 V, 20 A, electrical power. There is a septic dump station (at a separate location) for RV use. Tent sites require carrying gear a moderate distance. There are fire rings for guest use. Dry firewood is available.

The creek running through the property is an absolute treasure. I spent a lot of time enjoying it. I also liked that the property was remote enough. I didn’t have to drive way off a road to park.

I loved the camping spot with the huge trees and the proverbial “babbling brook”! The fire pit was huge and had a lot of firewood available for cooking supper. The spot was quiet and seemed isolated and rural, although it is fairly close to Asheville. I would definitely rent it again.

This is a great and private campsite. It is just starting so it will get even better as it is used more! I decided to not drive my subaru into the campsite but you probably could! It was a short walk into the site if you park by the house. The campsite is large and has plenty of spaces for a couple tents. Do pack a small camp table as there is no picnic table. Unfortunately it rained really hard while i was here so i didnt get to enjoy the site to its fullest. It is not too far from asheville so it would be a good place to stay outside of the city.
