No support at all during the trip
We were very disappointed with our first Hipcamp experience. Unfortunately, we were never able to get into the pool (it was locked and our house key didn’t work to access), which was one of the main reasons we booked this property. Despite multiple attempts to call and text the after-hours number, as well as emailing the property, no one ever responded and it has now been a full business day and no one even tried reaching out to us.
Also when we first arrived, the lockbox was extremely difficult to open. We tried calling them already at that time a few times, but no one answered. Luckily, we eventually figured it out on our own, but now thinking back we could easily have been locked out all night since no one was monitoring emails or phone lines.
This was especially disappointing since we were only there for one night, and our young child had been looking forward to the pool. Clearer communication and responsive support would have made a big difference as the “tiny home” we stayed at was truly comfortable and homey.
